The Toronto Airport have a train station for Union Pearson Express (UP Express) that takes you to Union Station in Downtown Toronto in 28 minutes. It was a comfortable and relaxing train ride that snowy, windy and cold day. I enjoyed the scenic and pretty view from the train. On the day of my departure, I took the first trip of the train in Union Station at 5am to arrive at the Toronto Pearson International Airport early to go through the lines at check-in, TSA and security. Going in was pretty easy, and there was a nice view of Toronto from both the turboprop on the way in and on the way out. Apparently, you had to previously use a ferry to get to the airport as it's an island, but now they've thankfully added an underground passage. Going back was a little bit more challenging. We arrived for our early flight, and it was a bit confusing to figure out where the passage was, as there weren't many signs. Eventually, we found our way to the departure area, which was split between domestic and US flights, and there was a long line of people waiting. There was a flight pretty soon at 6:45 A.M., and apparently the workers don't get in until 6:00, so there was a bit of confusion, with some people allowed to skip the line so they wouldn't miss their flights. This eventually led to a bottleneck where people in front of us had to wait while others way behind us didn't have as big a line at the security checkpoint to check in. All early morning shenanigans aside, the staff was pretty nice. At least on the USA side, they have a breakfast place, a small place to get a drink or food, presumably, and a little mini-mart. The flight (on Air Canada) was fine otherwise. For a small airport, it's not half bad at all.

I had two small kids with me, we had woke up around 430am to get ready. I did not know what to do with the tired kids and all the luggage for another 5+ hours. The gentleman at the desk, Vishal, was so kind, he made sure we had water, and he let me check back into the hotel room. We were able to sleep again, and then check out after we had been better rested, which I was so grateful for, especially since it turns out the flight got further delayed, and it was a long flight back.
