Produce Place Market on Mayfield is a regular stop to pick up my weekly vegetables, fruits and any other food that strikes my fancy. Produce Place is located in a renovated church building which gives the store a airy open feel, the produce is fresh and usually very reasonably priced, even more so if you check out the weekly specials that are posted on the cork board next to the entrance. They usually have great prices on bananas, strawberries and salad fixings. In addition to the fruits and veggies there are nice selections of cheese, breads and pastries and wines. off to the side is a small groceries section with canned goods, dry goods, and a cooler. Overall Produce Place easily beats the groceries with higher quality fruit and vegetables at better prices. Well worth a regular visit to stock up and work on making your meals more flavorful and healthier. read more

The woman behind the deli counter totally ignored me, then went into the back room. The young boy scooping egg salad, also ignored me, so I said hello, he said I'll be with you in a minute. I said "how about now " ? I gave my order for 1/2 pound Black Forest ham, and I don't want it from an end piece. So what do you think he shows me ? Yes, an end piece. Told him I didn't want it, & chose a different ham, told him to let me see how much there was, so I would know if it would be enough. Went to get potatoes, when I got back to the deli, he had it bagged & sealed. So much for my request. I really like this place, but bad customer service is not for me. I've been coming to place since the first day they open. I remember when it was a school many years ago. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh and reasonably price however I am very disenchanted and the fluctuating cost of the deli meat . Stopped in to grab a couple items and wanted to check out their produce. Small selection of produce but amazing prices! All the produce looked fresh, they even had some fruits that aren't typically sold in big retail grocery stores. They also had a small deli counter and the prices on the meats and cheeses were really good too! Although I hadn't planned on buying any deli meat, I opted for their honey turkey that was on sale. The attendant at the counter was pleasant and ensured I was happy with the slices and quantity. The prices on local produce was a steal but some of the mainstream brands were higher price. Some popular brands were $2 more average. Will definitely go back for my fruits and veggies and even some local made items! read more

Few things about my 1 star review, First of all went today to support the local neighborhood grocery and all I hear WITH my kids is F this and F that I mean SERIOUSLY? KIDS ARE IN THE STORE... and NOT just mine. But OTHERS as well. This isn't the first time I've heard swearing coming from the back room from men. If I was the owner those employees would've been fired along time ago... If sadly it's the owner yelling then maybe just maybe his maturity level needs to grow up and be an actual owner and manager. Produce is ok, Some great deals when they offer them. But with customers so close to the YELLING department maybe those employees need to be let go. read more

The word here to me is value. I do a lot of shopping here. The small Lyndhurst market has very affordable prices at close to Marc's level prices and decent quality. It's rarely so crowded that you end up waiting in line longer than two mins. The meat and non-perishable food sections are small but I can usually find what I need. I used to split my shopping between Marc's (for non perishables, cleaning paper products) and Giant Eagle (meat and produce) and I used to dread the Giant Eagle trip each week bc of the lines. Produce place has replaced Giant Eagle. It's not a one stop shop (no cleaning/paper products, pop sections, small meat non perishables) but if you split your shopping like me I'd encourage anyone to give this place a try. read more

Nice to have a market in the area. Must be careful when selecting produce. Especially fruit. Does not have the shelf life or quality of similar markets. Pricing is good for product you will use quickly. Seasonl products well priced. read more

This place is amazing! I'd passed by driving along Mayfield many times but thought it was some sort of Cracker Barrel-esque restaurant. Boy, was I wrong. It is chock-full of all sorts of produce and nothing is overpriced. I found all sorts of gems here from romanesco broccoli to many types of apples, bargains on cucumbers and peppers, and more. They also sell meats and cheese at a deli counter. The other half of the small-ish grocery store is less commonly-found dry goods such as pastas, olives and artichoke type jarred/canned items, a tiny selection of forgettable frozen goods, and a few refrigerated items such as milks, a couple dips, etc. They have wine and vinegars, nut butters and honey, and spices. Really great place to shop and I'm glad to have found a new place for good produce. read more

Produce Place is a nice little market that is true to its name and mostly produce. They have a great selection of conventional and locally grown produce items and limited grocery items, as well as a full deli. They usually have fantastic deals on seasonal produce that beats most grocery stores. Currently yo can even get beautiful pumpkins in all colors, mums, and gourds for a great deal! Their limited grocery items include Ohio maple syrups, specialty jams, coffee, pasta & pasta sauce, bakery, and dairy items. Their deli has a large selection, which I have not tried. I think it would be nice if they offered sandwiches or even pre-made sandwiches to grab and go. The one piece of feedback I would offer is to have a few of their larger carts by the entrance... they currently only have the tiny carts that done have a child seat. This is inconvenient for parents with small child(ren) like me because they have the larger carts on the other side of the store in a corner. read more

What a great spot. Small store, well layed-out. Stopped in for some lettuce and left with avacodos, romaine lettuce, carrots, bananas, honey-crisp apples, pasta sauce, etc. Great deli, produce is an excellent value, plus products from Holmes County Amish county. Sale items are particularly a great value. They advertise in the Sun newspaper and on facebook. Their new sale items begin each Thursday. read more

A lot of the fruit I have purchased has been rotten. Quite possibly the most rude staff that I have ever seen, right up to the management and owners. I have heard that they treat their employees with no respect. Chasing teens out the door. No wonder they are always short staffed and there is always a now hiring sign out front. A total shame coming from neighborhood people. I am all about supporting local, but not these locals. read more
