In fact, I'm not sure that they believed I was as broken as I was until after the X-rays. They offered me pain meds and I declined, because I drive myself to the hospital and I planned on driving myself home. But everyone from the X-ray technician to the cat scan person to the doctors were great. I felt like I got great care. The one caveat was they wanted to start an I.V. Okay, first I've declined pain meds until I get home. Second, I have pets at home so if surgery was needed (and it wasn't) I wasn't doing it today. And I'm honestly one of the hardest people in the world to stick so unless we REALLY need it, it's a no. But they did accept it with aplomb after I have my reasoning so it was all good. The bill was also only $407 for five X-rays, a cat scan and a Tylenol plus all the professionals. When I was going back from the cat scan the triage nurse saw me and popped her head out and told me she heard I broke it. That made me feel like she cared. Anyway, no broken bone is welcome but I'm glad I came here.

The warm blankets are a huge comfort considering you're in a cold hospital...having low iron makes you cold all the time and they are considerate of this. They also have the best crushed ice for ice munchers like myself. I am also gluten free and while you are receiving treatment they also offer snacks..they have gluten free snacks available; which is typically an after thought, if it is ever a thought at all. The environment is extremely peaceful and calming and the heated recliners are so amazing. This week, they handed out tubes of candy decorated as a bunny for Easter and that is such a sweet gesture. Though I do not enjoy being poked and prodded with needles, the comfort the workers offer the patients is top tier. I don't look forward to coming here, but the times that I am here, I take comfort in knowing that I am in the best of care.

I am not afraid because I know God will see me through this and every attack of evil that I will face in fighting for my brothers rights. I know he is already under attack and I pray for the Lord to protect him throughout this time and continue to give him strength and keep him positive and strong as he is attacked and not let him lose hope and continue to fight with the lord protecting him every second throughout this entire situation we are going through. There is obvious something very wrong here. I am asking, praying that the Dr.'s with Mary Bird Perkins please stop the what is going on do the right thing and treat my brothers cancer. Do the best you can with your knowledge and ability. My brother has been positive and has a great attitude. My husband is a poster child with MD Anderson, against the odds, my husband beat cancer and has been a cancer survivor since 2002. The Dr.'s and staff with MD Anderson always had a positive out look and believed "NEVER GIVE UP". My husband formed Bad to the Bone cancer drive at MD Anderson, he teamed up with Be the Match and together a lot of money has been raised for cancer. I later met Lance Armstrong that invited us and other cancer survivors and went to the capital in Austin and working together we got a bill passed that approved money for cancer that has saved thousands of lives and continues to grow. I am hoping the dr.'s at Mary Bird Perkins will do 100% for any patient fighting cancer. I believe if we are all a team against cancer and we all work together and encourage one another and NEVER GIVE UP!! Work together to save as many lives as we can.

My wife and I have been patients at The Baton Rouge Clinic for over 20 years. The physicians…read moreespecially Dr. Paul Fitzmorris, are excellent: responsive, compassionate, and professional. The problem is the administration. After being advised to undergo an EGD on April 20, I was told to pay $228.01 upfront because my deductible wasn't met. I asked to wait until insurance processed the claim based on a prior billing error that took months to fix. I also noted my long history of paying upfront when required, including for a colonoscopy last year. This wasn't refusal; it was reasonable caution. I even offered my standard $50 copay in good faith. That was rejected. Instead, I was told I must pay at least 50% upfront or my procedure would be rescheduled. That is not flexibility, it's coercion, kind of taking advantage of a patient situation. Conditioning a medically recommended procedure on advance payment, especially for a long-standing, reliable patient, is unacceptable. This kind of rigid policy erodes trust and overshadows the excellent care provided by the physicians. A clinic with doctors of this caliber should not allow administrative practices to undermine patient confidence so severely. Syed Khalil

When the only "tool" you have is a nurse practitioner, don't expect quality medical treatment…read more The BR Clinic Urgent Care used to offer quality care quickly, but that changed after the pandemic. I have been there twice since the pandemic was over, and each time I was misdagnosed. Two years ago, I sought treatment there when my appendix was about to rupture (but I didn't know that at the time). The nurse practitioner in charge ordered an ultrasound, but only on the top half of my abdomen, so the technician missed what almost killed me. At the time, I thought this bad experience was a one-off. I returned to this facility last week when I was feeling poorly and my throat was closing up. I suspected strep, so the nurse practitioner did a test, which came back negative, so she sent me home with a 3 day course of steroids. Did not do a flu test or a COVID test while I was there. As soon as I took the last steroid, the symptoms returned with some extra ones, so now I am going to an actual medical doctor for treatment. I think the quality of care I received would have been better if this facility was staffed by a medical doctor, not someone who is essentially cosplaying as an MD. The Baton Rouge Clinic itself is outstanding, so I am shocked and disappointed that their urgent care facility is so bad. Why have such a facility if it continues to offer such subpar care that people need to seek more medical treatment? The BR Clinic Urgent Care facility tarnishes the reputation of the entire BR Clinic.

I never saw him again. But at the time I specifically told them I would be declining all further medical care when the time came. They made no note of this. Recently for the EIGHTH time in a row I did not consult with a doctor but a PEDIATRIC FNP. My blood tests showed OVERWHELMING evidence of Type 2 diabates on top of my terminal kidney disease which they COMPLETELY missed, even when I brought it up I was completely ignored. I was spoken to like a child who did not understand that my misery could be prolonged for "many many more years" when I have already declared my choice for no further care. My new insurance information that I had updated with them, they did not update with the testing service and I got billed for it. They told me this was my job to fix. This is not all but this is enough! I will no longer seek ANY medical care and will DIE IN PEACE!
