We moved back into our condo after renting it out for two years and discovered a cockroach issue. I booked an appointment at the beginning of September, hoping that would be it, but we still had cockroaches over 2 weeks later. We called and the tech came back at the end of September as part of their 30-day guarantee. After the second service, I purchased sticky traps to keep track of the activity. At the end of October, I caught a *pregnant* cockroach who gave birth on the sticky trap. Frustrated, I ended up calling another pest company, who cost less and had just as positive reviews. It has been a month since I called that "other" company and I have not seen any activity.  On the plus side, the service - both booking and the tech - were pleasant and I think they genuinely wanted to do the best job they could, but it just did not work out for us. Good customer service is hard to find these days. So giving them stars for that. read more

We had a contractor doing work at our house for three days. On the second day, one of the crew (who had all been instructed and constantly reminded to close the basement door to the outside) let a squirrel into our basement. Great. Then the freaked out little thing found its way into our basement ceiling. Again, great. This happened after 5:00 p.m. on a Friday, because these things never happen at 2:00 p.m. on a Wednesday. Animal Control was no help, saying that they don't deal with wildlife problems. (What?!) Extra great. We Googled the problem and followed every bit of reasonable guidance for getting a squirrel out of the house. Nothing. We asked the contractor to come over and help us, but he wasn't contrite, wouldn't offer any suggestions, didn't take responsibility for any of it (tried to blame ME) and was annoyed that I was annoyed with him and his crew for creating the problem in the first place. Double-plus great. I called one of the big, national pest control chains at their 800 call center. After nearly an hour on hold, "sorry, but we don't handle squirrel problems". Stating such on their website would have been really great. After trying everything imaginable until after 3:00 a.m., we gave up. By the next morning, I was tired of hearing what people couldn't do, and wanted to hear what someone COULD do. I called Professional Termite and Pest Control and spoke to Wilma. She asked a few questions, and told me she would send one of their top people, Jack. Jack arrived within the hour to assess the situation. He was clean-cut, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained what usually worked to humanely trap a squirrel, their pricing, and then drew up a plan. He set a trap with a squirrel's favorite treat, and said he would be back every 24 hours to check the trap until the squirrel was caught. If not done properly, sometimes it can take weeks to trap a squirrel, and in the meantime it can die in your ceiling, wall, attic, or some other place where you don't want to have to locate the smell that draws a thousand flies. We didn't have to worry about that, though. With a little patience, trying different bait and trap locations, Jack stayed with the problem and within a few days the squirrel was caught unharmed. The little dickens would soon be released in a park a few miles away. Hooray! Skip the big companies. Hire local, hire Professional Termite and Pest Control and ask for Jack. They were really great! read more

We have used them over the last couple years for our building for various issues. Most recently ant and termite issues. They treated the building for ants, but weren't able to assist us with the termite issue due to the type of wall structure in our basement and the equipment needed to do a proper termite treatment. I appreciated their honesty and walking us through the process and the thorough explanation of how it should be done. Also explained that if we do hire another company - list of what to ask them etc. Wilma is always a pleasure to speak with on the phone and the guys that come to do the estimate and treatment are all very professional and thorough. Called them up after some quick research online/yelp, as I never required the services of a pest control company. Friendly call taker, and convenient availability to come out. They charge a fee to come out even if no services are ordered, which is fine. Fee will go into price of services if you go with their treatment plan. On the date of service, the tech came as scheduled and came to inspect the area I found termites, and confirmed what I saw was true. Wrote out a recommendation for treatment, called in my credit card info for the visit, and said to call if we wanted to proceed. We call to request the treatment, tech comes and treats the one room. Here is where I have issues with the company. He treated just the one small room where I saw termites, but when I questioned him about how they spread or where they come from or if they will come back... He simply said he guaranteed the small room he treated and said it could cost thousands to tens of thousands to treat the entire property, and if I see termites in another room, give them a call. Didn't seem to be concerned where they came from in the first place, or the fact that they can easily spread room to room through the wood walls. Sure enough, 2 weeks later we see termite evidence in the next room over. Instead of calling Professional Termite, I called a different company. They came and thoroughly explained the situation and answered all questions and were very concerned about finding the source and extent of termite damage. Professional only looked at the one room in question and left it at that. There was termite damage along the entire wall, about 100 feet of damage, Professional only treated about 7 feet. The kicker: Professional was very overpriced. They charged roughly $500 to treat a 7x5 storage room. New company charged under $1000 to re do the room Professional did, plus the entire wall. Other company came 2x prior to treatment for consult and didn't charge a dime. I'd suggest Professional care more about locating the cause of an issue versus ensuring to collect payment for each service. They came out assessed and did their due diligence to make sure the mouse was caught. Thankfully since they came I have not had anymore issues with mice. PTPC is my go to exterminator for all my properties. I have a few buildings that need servicing monthly in hudson county and these guys are always on time and quick to get the job done. In the past if there was ever an issue with pests these guys were quick to come over and get the job done. The owner routinely will do visits himself with his guys and takes the time to explain the source of the problem and best way to control the situation. Unlike other exterminator companies these guys won't break your bank and will even remind me when the next service is due instead of me having to track them down. We found a bug in our bathroom at 2am. I called professional termite and pest when they opened at 9 and they got someone out that afternoon!! We had a very thorough inspection and opinion by Pat who couldn't have been nicer and more honest. Side note I was also so afraid of the bug I left and went to my parents for the day and hid keys for him to use which they had no problem with and locked my apartment after leaving. I would recommend Professional Termite & Pest Control. My husband had some bites on his legs and we were scared they were bed bugs. I called at like 10 am and they fit me in at between 2 and 4 pm to be seen that day( i may have been freaking out just a bit). I was able to sleep that night because I found out I did not have bed bugs. Pat was great. Super nice and super thorough. The cost to check the house was 20% of what the other other companies were charging. I went with them because they were local, reasonably priced, nice, had great yelp reviews, and the cost seemed more appropriate. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. They charge way too much for a service that does not help. They are more than happy to sell you even more though. I browsed Yelp for exterminators and looking at the reviews, I went with them. Getting a weekday appointment was fairly easy, but that was the only thing good about it. The exterminators came at the scheduled time, however they were barely there for 10 minutes and put very few traps. That did not help the problem at all, in fact it got even worse and we started seeing more pests after the services. I called to complain and the lady "Volma" I spoke to told me that she could schedule another follow-up service for me for $75+tax. I told her "No thanks!" Bad way to conduct business, she wasn't even willing to send someone to re-assess why they did such a bad job or if they missed anything. This business is NOT recommended. read more

These guys really are the experts at removing unwanted pests and they also know a thing or two about treating their customers right. Fed up with an unwanted pest that had made its way into our attic from the outside, I searched on Yelp for someone in the area that could help us and they were the first ones to come up so I gave 'em a call. The guy who answered the phone was very quick to respond and personable; I had an appointment made almost immediately. He explained the price structure ($75 for the inspection/consult that would later be applied towards the service fee if you decide to go with them). I was very impressed at the thorough breakdown and their honesty. The next day - less than 24 hours later - two guys arrived to assess the situation. Although our attic is not walkway friendly, they were still able to get to the area and do the assessment. They gave us a thorough and documented explanation of what type of pest we had, the source of the problem and our options for resolution. They also expertly recommend best options based on their knowledge. As we we live in a condominium community, and the source was external, they advised us to speak with our management company on resolving the issue and we were also told that they were helpful in explaining the issue and situation to our management company as well. I later learned that they have been in business for over 50 years and I now see why: They give quick and prompt service, their employees are experts in the field, they have a strong business model and they simply get the job done in helping you get rid of your unwanted pest issues. read more

We have had mice on and off for a year as well as the odd water bug in the summer and my husband was convinced that he could take care of it himself and/or that they would go away on their own. This was one Yelp search I wasn't looking forward to - finding a decent exterminator in the Jersey City area. After three years of living in my apartment pest-free, I unfortunately came across my first mouse experience and desperately wanted it to be my last. Based on the Yelp reviews, I decided to give Professional Termite & Pest Control a try. I'm glad I did! That exterminator that came was thorough and professional as he searched through every room in my apartment, searching for entry points where mice could get in. He marked them for me and even showed me how to check behind my stove where - SURPRISE - there was another dead mouse. UGH. Seeing the pure fear on my face, he quickly agreed to wrap up the mouse and throw it out for me. Thank goodness. What I really appreciated was how he took his time and how honest he was in his evaluation, and he educated me too on how to use steel wool to seal up all the open holes. Because it's only been less than a week since the service, I'm giving them four stars at this time to see how good their services really are after a month. I will certainly give them a call for a follow up check, if needed. But...I hope I don't have to! read more

These guys are the best! I highly recommend them for anyone in the Jersey City/Hoboken area. We've had regular service with them -- every 2 months - and they have worked wonders.
