Greetings All! I have been a member of this gym since 2013. I have found it to be a great stabilizer in my life. When I joined I was overweight and found the promise of 24-hour availability to be the very best thing for me. I was able to lose 25 pounds in five months because of the gym's proximity to my home and ability to enter when I chose to. The equipment is kept in good shape and I find that may of the other members are sociable. The owner has treated me like a member of his own family from the very beginning and I have not searched for another place to work out. Trust goes a long way. In 2020, against his own interests Mr. Smolich suspended dues for members because noone could access the gym due to the pandemic. That is great measure of integrity. The space at BPF is great if you are looking for a place where overcrowding is not a problem. Have a great workout! read more

Just as a heads up, so others do not waste their time, the gym requires that you give your bank account and routing number to sign up. They do not accept credit cards--this was a deal breaker for me. I went down the street and signed for a different locally owned gym (who did accept credit card payment) and it's been great. I would reconsider if the gym allowed payment with credit card because the facilities are nice. This guy billed me for 197 told me it was first and last month membership at 60 a month and 50 for yearly membership but I've no clue what the remainder was for. I asked him 3 days later to stop my membership and cancel and he refused. I went to the gym for a month and avoided him. Then today he billed me for 120 and told him I would be in there shortly and wanted a full itemization of the two bills he called me back and left a voice mail telling me he was canceling my membership. Gym is private, clean, and has a good amount of space. However, there can be some major improvements such as more squat racks or squat stands for powerlifting or big 3 compound movements. Could also add bumper plates for deadlifts and barbell clamps. Would also advise on "dirty towel" baskets all over the gym that include clean rags in multiple areas. HERE WE GO AGAIN!!! They charged me again! Twice actually (monthly fee and a yearly fee) My membership was canceled in August! Called pro fitness again and (to no one's surprise) no one has called me back. Still waiting for a call back from all my other messages as well. The charges are being disputed as Fraud with my bank. DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS GYM! Normally, I don't like writing negative reviews, but I do want to warn potential clients about the shady business dealings of this facility. Hopefully, other will not fall prey to their predatory practices. Believe all the bad reviews of this place. They're all true. First of all, they will do their best to not let you out of your contract. You will have to fight with their financial partner, ABC Fitness Solutions, about who is responsible for cancelling the plan. ABC Fitness Solutions will point the finger at the owner, and the owner will give you the run around and point the finger at ABC Fitness Solutions. To cancel, not only will you have to submit a form through email, but you'll also have to submit a formal request by regular mail. On top of that, the owner will say that you have to prove your a disabled to cancel. He really wants you to give him private medical documentation in order to quit his gym. Another kick is...he'll claim that's the only way out of the contract. However, that's not true. If you read the contract, you have the right to cancel if you move more than 25 miles from the gym or any of its affiliates. The owner will still claim you need to be disabled to quit the membership. Do not go here. It's scam, and the owner is as terrible as they all claim in the reviews. I moved 33 miles away, submitted all the cancellation documentation, and they still want to fight me over it. Save your contract, like I did, if you do sign-up. It may come in handy in court. read more

Worst customer service EVER!!! My hubby and I bought a membership in June, through George. He was very nice, but EXTREMELY deceiving. He will tell you one thing, while doing another. He did not disclose any of the important details of the membership, and double charged both my husband and I for our initial fees. We went to one personal training session with Donavan and throughout the session he kept answering his phone, and seemed really irritated! He kept pressuring us to buy a trainer package but wouldn't listen to what we wanted to get out of coming to the gym. We made another appointment with him for a month later and he called us and canceled multiple times. Since then we have tried to cancel our membership, and nobody will answer our calls or emails. We wrote a written cancellation letter to ABC Financial (who handles their billing and memberships), to cancel our membership, which is what we were told to do to cancel, and they have continued to take out our monthly dues out anyway. I have tried to contact them, ABC Financial and ProFitness) for over a month now and have heard nothing from them! I also contacted the Attorney General and BBB about the situation, and they have had numerous complaints about this same situation as well. I would NOT recommend this gym to anybody!!!!! LA Fitness is coming soon to Burien, and I know a lot of people who are planning to or already have switched from ProFitness to another gym! read more

If you are a woman, the owner will not let you work out without him coming up to you and saying things like "oh wow why do you lift so heavy" and "what are you doing this weekend" like, I am not there to talk to your orange overly tanned 75 year old ass. I am there to lift. He also will randomly cancel your membership if you don't answer his phone calls at 8:30 pm and don't want to come in so you can "discuss your membership" He will also SCREAM at you if you call him out on these facts and is just an overly terrible human being. If you are a guy, he probably won't sexually harrass you but he will interrupt your lifts. I actually reviewed this place several years back. I came in as a student for the summer and wanted just a several month membership. After indicating that I didn't want to pay the crazy startup fees (I was broke and in college) I was sucked into a sales pitch by the owner George. George came off as a very pushy man. He made several comments that seemed to insinuate that one of his clients (obviously a bodybuilder woman) was man-like, and made a joke about how "normal" woman generally go there that did not look like her. In case you don't think that was inappropriate enough, he continually walked around showing me the "women's machines" and tried to sell me on their tanning! Yaaay! I ended up in the back office feeling terribly uncomfortable. There was something that just seemed so off-putting about him. After finally working up my nerve, I finally walked out, and posted a review about my experience, and how I didn't want to go to a gym that was owned by someone who came off to me as a misogynist. The most terrible part about this place actually wasn't the tour! It turns out that the owner has made a number of fake accounts, and used one of them to threaten me with a lawsuit for slander. I made him apologize and agreed to take it down, but have since realized that I should not be scared into expressing my opinion. This place is toxic, and operated by people I would never trust. Take a look at their history of charging customers who cancel, and others who state they have had the same experiences as me. I was looking for a friendly neighborhood gym and ended up being scared and intimidated. Do not let this happen to you. Do not join this gym. I said, I'm busy, my needs are very basic, I don't need to hear about classes or see the showers- just give me your rates. They flat out refused. Even after all of the bad reviews, I decided to join anyway and take the risk. I even signed up for 3 months with a trainer 2x a week. After a little over a month, I'm pleased with this location. Yes, it's a quieter gym but I like that I don't wait for machines or equipment and that I have a parking space when I pull in. I never got a cheesy sales pitch and I really don't care if the manager is in his office or behind a desk. I'm there to workout not worry about what he is doing. My only complaint is the low music but that seems to be an issue all over the Seattle area so that's what an iPod is for. I think it's worth giving this place a try and ignoring the over posts of complaints by the same person. read more

ProFitness is a great local gym in an area with several choices. I like the fact that it is smaller but still has modern machines and a large free weight area. The gym is always clean and the machines well maintained. The staff are very friendly as well. They always greet me with a smile when I arrive and depart. The best part is that they are open 24hrs. After reading the bad reviews for this place I am truly surprised! I travel a lot and have to get a weeks pass at A LOT of gyms. When I called in the manager spoke to me politely on the phone, took my name and addressed it a few times on the phone (if you're in customer service you know this is important)! I came in and he was direct and to the point, sold me a week pass and explained everything. This is a small gym, but after a few I have been to in the same area this gym is by far the cleanest and actually does have all the equipment needed, even plyometric equipment. Someone states that the manager just sits in his office, but what is he supposed to be doing..? He's running a business and there are personal trainers there if you need help with equipment, etc. Everyone really should just give this gym a try, you WILL like it! read more

This place is a total scam when you want to cancel your membership. I emailed them. No response for weeks. I called MANY times before anyone at the club ever answered the phone. Then they told me I had to call a 800 #. 15 minute call for them to tell me I have to send the request in writing by mail. No email. Then they take their time responding and tell you they get another 30 days to cancel your membership. This way they can add on additional months. Plus even though my membership was cancelled they added on an additional "enhancement fee" for the annual membership fee. I will never step foot into another Pro Fitness club. read more

I have been a member of the "cheapest deal" gym and the "I paid to socialize rather than sweat" gym but this one is my hidden gem. Pro Fitness is a newly remodeled VERY CLEAN workout oasis. No funky "oh yeah people sweat a lot here" funk smell when you walk in the door. Now don't go rushing down and crowding up my favorite little gym. I am not sure that I even want to tell you the the trainers don't sales pressure you into anything and that they are a really no fuss kinda environment. I hope to heck that the fact that I have been able to get the machine or equipment I wanted to use every time I have been in doesn't make you stop by and sign up to crowd the place up ;) By telling you that they have rules and make people follow them and that their sauna is amazing or that if you want your ass to be back to where you once had it then they have the intimidating no joke trainers for you. Seriously be very afraid you won't see them coming. They are sweet in introductions but do not plan on complaining about the pain! Part of me hopes that you will still hold the old stigma that this place is a stinky weight room and only muscle heads are allowed and forget the fact that it is totally updated with modern design, new equipment and flat panel tv's all over the place. I kinda hope you think that it is run down or whatever you heard. That way I can continue to enjoy the perfect little gym (that I singed up for at dirt cheap I might add... there was a special offer). Also, leave your water wings at home there isn't a pool. As everyone else says - they won't cancel your membership. I cancelled mine in 2017 and now, all of a sudden, they charged me in 2019. No response from loser club. Have filed a charge back with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The fight if you ever want to cancel your membership far outweighs any benefit from this gym. UPDATE: Don who responded to my original review is a liar. They sent this to collection even though my membership was cancelled in person OVER 2 YEARS AGO. This place is rotten and dirty and they do not return phone calls. This place is good with equipment and amenities. Overall though it's an annoying gym. The staff doesn't give tours correctly and gives misinformation. My family and I went to try them out for the 14-day trial because we just recently moved to Washington. Our first day was fine. After that the front desk lady pretty much kept keeping an eye on me and my sister and our third day come to find out if you don't have a Burien address and some other pieces of info on the first day you do not qualify. They claimed there was no way for them to end the billing, and that I would have to take it up with their third party financial company, ABC. ABC told me on the phone that there was no way for them to stop billing me over the phone, but I would have to write a letter and mail it to them, which is insane and took weeks. 3 years later I received a bill from Pro Fitness Burien, and I called the gym and they claimed they had no way to know why this would happen and have "no access" to who or why people are billed. This is a lie, they should be charged with fraud. After all this, I've had to get a new credit card, as I have to constantly check my bank statements to check for fraudulent charges from Pro Fitness Burien. read more

Staff and owner was very friendly and welcoming. Place was laid out very effectively and very clean. Weights and equipment were neatly set up and overall environment was great. My sister and I went in & Rosy, the receptionist was awesome! We asked her if they had a free trial so we could try it out just to get a feel of the gym & she gladly helped us & showed us our options. She made us feel very comfortable & our hearts were set on joining that gym. It seemed legit until we came during the day when Don, "the one who runs the show around [t]here" (his words not mine) showed up. He wouldn't let us leave the gym unless we signed a contract! He was very pushy and we felt pressured to sign otherwise he wouldn't let us go. I have been a member at LA Fitness and Planet Fitness but I wanted to check out a smaller gym that was closer to home. I was greeted by Nicole and her bright smile and felt welcomed immediately. We went into her office and discussed my personal needs and goals that I wanted to accomplish. After we discussed membership options, she took the time to show me around the gym and I noticed how clean and kept all the equipment was. The facility is smaller than LA and Planet and is very home like to me.. unlike my previous gyms that I've joined which were a bit dirtier and crowded. I am a mother of two young boys and am self-employed and with the 24 hour access this gym offers... LIFE SAVER! I haven't missed a workout since joining Pro Fitness. I found a new home, a safe place to work on myself. If you're thinking of joining, ask for Nicole! She was very helpful, professional, and personable. read more
