A few months back, I had a serious problem in my left foot thumb. I visited my family Dr. Jain at Danforth Medical Center. He informed me that its a wart and did a dressing. After a week, I had to visit again since I felt not much relief. Then I decided to visit one another clinic "Doctors Clinic "on Sheppard ave east and Birchmount road. The Dr. did the same 1 dressings and said it would remove the pain. It was incidentally during my first visit to Progress Medical Centre, just next door. I was treated by Dr. Jerry, who was great and advised me that my wart is stubborn and will require a few more dressings. It took about 8 dressings over a period of 2 months. Eventually, my wart was removed. At the same time, I was advised to seek the opinion of Specialist in Toronto, where I have informed that me that the treatment I was given which was given is perfect. Just 2 months back another incident happened. For past several years, I have a problem with sinus, especially during winter months. He gave me some nasal spray and also recommended me to see a specialist. To my great relief, I was told that I don't need an operation that I feared. I was told that it's due to my long-time motorcycle accident when I suffered " Bells Palsy' which also affected my breathing problem. I was recommended to use the Dehumidifier in my apt some Management keeps higher heat in buildings. problems and doesn't require any operation.l I am shocked and horrified to read a few misleading reviews of this medical center. I've been meaning to write this review for two weeks, but, me being me, have procrastinated like it was my job to avoid Yelp. :P Anyways, to preface my experience, I HAVEN'T BEEN TO ANY SORT OF MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL OTHER THAN MY ORTHODONTIST FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS....Yeah. So obviously, I'm quite nervous about visiting doctors and what-not, but my experience here was very reassuring! The establishment was very clean and orderly with the waiting area leading directly into the pharmacy. The receptionist was friendly and expedient and didn't look like he was hating his life, as a startlingly larger amount of receptionists (in my experience) do. The doctor, Jerry Leung, was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable and reassured about my potential medical issues and at-home care. Even though the consultation was fairly short, he was very professional and concise. No beating around the bush, which is great when you're trying to figure our what could be wrong with you. I've been to this medical centre 3 x and each time I have been treated professionally. The reception has always been friendly & efficient. Dr. Leung (?) has treated me professionally and warmly. He actually does a good job of educating on the issues. Today Mae (?) did my initial intake and was very good including suggesting that once I have had an allergic reaction to a medication that I should be mindful of other new meds and either take them with someone to be sure or have the prescription filled at the pharmacy there and come back to the waiting room just in case. I have to say.......I have NEVER been to any retail establishment where the owner himself/herself has left to pick up an item elsewhere for a customer that they did not have in stock!!! Well,........now I HAVE,.....Brent, the owner at Progress Medical Pharmacy, excused himself to get for me an over the counter item that they were currently out of stock on (a very rare situation) and in less than 10 minutes, I was leaving with everything I needed. This clinic run their routines very efficiently from the front desk services to medical staff and pharmacy. Wait is reasonable and we got all what we need at the same place from doctor's visit, bloodworks, medicines and etc. Dr.Jerry Leung has been our family doctor for almost a decade and we are grateful for the excellent care provided throughout that time. My children have been seeing Dr Jerry Leung for a long time now. He's always fun and playful with them and knows how to joke around so they arent scared. The kids actually dont mind coming here which says a lot lol. Even when it's busy he still takes the time to explain things in a simple way and makes sure we understand whats going on. The doctors here seem unwilling to help when they are busy. You feel rushed. When they are not busy it's not so bad.
