(I've since moved to a different lawn service provider, who charges only $20, doesn't inundate me with billing emails and shows up on schedule without fail.) My 2-star rating is based on their office staff and billing techniques. I have been billed several times for service when no one actually showed up to mow on my scheduled day. (I have security cameras and confirmed each time I received my bill when I knew I should've only been charged for 1 day as opposed to 2 because the crew didn't show up on whatever day as scheduled.) Additionally, the office staff sends via email an invoice AND a monthly statement at the end of the month, but not on the same day. This is overkill and ends up becoming a nuisance when both the invoice and billing statement includes the option to pay on both the invoice and monthly statement and contain duplicate information. It would be better suited for customers to send only the detailed billing statement at the end of the month to keep it simple.

Yard Birds owner took the time to explain to me where my problem could actually be coming from. He promptly sent his crew to diagnose the issue. Jack and his partner arrived and worked hard digging holes to locate the broken wire. Jack clearly explained to me my options and his plan since the broken wire was determined to be either under a large tree root system or beneath the pool deck. They came back the next day when they said they would and ran wire, covered all the holes, and checked the entire system out. You could tell they were being really respectful of the property and trying their best to fill and level the ground to make it look good. They even used some of the dirt to go to an area where they noticed erosion and filled that in too. I have used Yard Birds multiple times in the past 25 years. They are a dependable quality company with a reputation that you can count on.

Brandon even allowed me to do some of the work myself, and when I punctured a drain on my property that I was unaware of (oops) Brandon recommended that we pull up the whole pipe and replace it. Brandon replaced the pipe and installed it and didn't charge me an extra penny for my mistake that cost his time. Brandon and his crew finished the job to our satisfaction, and beyond. Two years later in 2023 we hired Yard Birds again to do a makeover on our pond. This required more large tree removal, much excavator work, and great skill in shaping the outer edge of our 1/2 acre pond into a heart shape (I know, cheesy:). I am personal friends with the owners of two equipment rental places that Yard Birds uses regularly, and both have great working relationship with Brandon and his company. I would recommend Brandon and Yard Birds to anyone interested in professional and highly experienced work.
