We are seniors now retired and my husband is a disabled veteran. We were bless and saved money to buy a retirement home . We already had car insurance with GEICO. So when we bought our new home we just added our home to our policy. But our va representative recommended we go with Progressive they would give us more if we bundled car and home. So we switch over to Progressive. On May 1st around 3:30 am in the morning someone entered our back yard and took our lawn mower all of my husband lawn and garden tools. The lawn mower was self propelled which is the only way my husband could walk behind a mower. He also had a set of black and decker tools in the original tool box which are not replaceable. The ADT camera did pick up the thief in the front yard but there no cameras in the back . The thief also walk across our back yard and took things from my neighbor's yard as well. So when we realized the thef we called the police and made a police report. We file a claim with Progressive that's when we were treated like they could care less . They ask us for things like receipts ,how old were the items, send them the video. And we did comply what we could find. So I sent what I could find. So Progressive agent reached out to us said she needed receipts and told me to go to the stores and they should have a copy of the receipts . Then they call back and say you have a deductible of 2,500 dollars . If we had 2,500 I would not need to file a claim. The bottom line. They want us to go buy another lawn mower and tools and send them the receipts and they would reimburse us 878.00 someone please make this make sense. Please make sure you know and understand terms and conditions and watch out for the sneaky stuff on my way back to GEICO. read more
