I bought a Golden lift chair from Progressive Mobility in Washington Pennsylvania. The chair was over 2000. dollars and was a custom order. I have a part that snapped from off of the motor that raises the foot rest of the chair. I'm trying to replace that part. I do not understand why the fork part snapped like this, because there was no reason for it to do so. I am not rough at all on the chair, and I am not overweight putting strain on the chair. The part had to be defective. The part is a plastic screw in fork that goes into the shaft that lifts the leg part of recliner. I ordered one off of Amazon, but the fork was a little too large and will not work. I don't need a technician to come to my home to fix it because all I need is the replacement part. I can put the part on myself. Its not hard to repair, but is hard to get parts for my chair. I do not know where to buy them. I just need the fork that screws into the shaft so the leg lift will rise. After the fork screws in, I can re insert the pin to allow the chair to lift the leg part of the recliner. I do not know where I can order that part and without that fork my chair is useless and will not work. My chair is still under warranty, but the warranty is useless because I cannot get the parts I need without a technician coming to my home. Again, I do know what's wrong with the chair and I just need that part. Progressive mobility only wants to send a technician out to charge me money for services I do not need. I simply need a part. They will not sell me the part. They said that they do not sell parts, even though I paid alot of money at their store for this chair that is supposed to be under warranty. The catch is even under warranty if a tech comes out to your home, you pay for those services. You pay for the labor and the service call. So even under warranty the store you buy the chair from, still makes money off of service calls by not selling you the parts so you can fix it yourself. Like I said, this expensive chair is useless unless you can get the part to fix it. I would hope that Golden would want to make this right somehow. It's terrible because I really need my legs lifted and the longer I can't use my chair the more pain I have in my legs. This chair is medically necessary for me. I am so miserable without the use of my chair. I just want everyone to know to be aware that it's hard to get parts for these chairs. You can know how to place the new part on the chair, but if you can't get the parts you can't repair the chair. Buyer beware. Incompetent staff. After taking time off work to get fitted for some compression hosiery, I provided very detailed guidance on my insurance coverage, specifically outlining primary, secondary, and provided my health savings account numbers for copays If required. I was told I would receive a call the next day concerning coverage and co pays. I did NOT get a call. No one bothered. I was out of town for a week for work, and called back as soon as I could in morning one week later and I was put into voice mail. No return call. I had to call again that afternoon only to have some lady start to give me a canned "it takes a week" answer without bothering to check. I find out after getting her to indeed check, they checked the wrong insurance and didn't bother to inform me or apparently follow the guidance I gave them. Total incompetence and quite honestly too lazy to call me. Bottom line....go elsewhere. They wasted a week, had all the information and contact info and just couldn't be bothered to follow up. So 10 months later they respond...need I say more? read more

Brian, the owner could not be more pompous! We have a $1789 lift chair that our 81 year old dad is having trouble with. We've only had it for less than two weeks and Progressive will not take it back. Brian and his operations manager Joyce stated multiple times that "we signed for it" and they have posted no returns or refunds. My recommendation is to go somewhere else for your medical device needs. Amazing how a business that's locally owned for 43 years cares so little about their customers that they hide behind "accreditation regulations" instead of working with their customers and trying to find solutions to help them. read more

Can't even fix my mother's electric wheel chair it's been 2 months with no loner not even wheeling to help and it's under warranty

I would not recommend this company because they have terrible customer service! 2 years ago I bought a lift chair from a private party. They were selling it because the person that it was purchased for was not able to use it. I have the receipt from the purchase and even have the Swatch they were given and every bit of information about the chair. About a year ago I had a problem with the chair and contacted Progressive, it took a long time to get the problem sorted out but it finally was. I wasn't real happy with that experience. But this more recent one has really upset me. I am having a problem withwhat I believe is the foot rest of this chair not coming up completely and it being crooked. I called last week and was told by the person answering the phone that service was busy and they would have to call me back. It took them 4 hours to call me back only to be told that they would have to get back to me after the holiday because they couldn't make an appointment for a service call until then. I got no call the Friday after Thanksgiving and of course not Saturday or Sunday and now Monday has come and gone. I refuse to call them back because I don't like their attitude. They treat you like you're a second-class citizen. I am a person who is confined to a wheelchair. I know that I am probably going to have to buy a new lift chair immediately and within the year I will need a new wheelchair and a scooter. I'm also contemplating getting a new stair lift in my home. I will definitely not be going to Progressive Mobility if I can help it. Because they definitely do not seem concerned with their customer. They may act and treat you like they are the king of mobility in this area, but I guarantee you they are not. read more

I have never written a bad review until now. I rented a knee walker and within 3 days the brake cable let go. I took it back and the technician wasn't there so they gave me another one unlike the first. I wasn't happy with the second one bc the handlebars were smaller and the turns weren't as sharp as the first one. The brake cable on the second one fell apart. My husband did fix this one, but I wanted the first one back. He called to see if the first one was fixed and they said that it couldn't be repaired. Come on Progressive!!! My husband could have and should have gone to WalMart, bought a brake cable and repaired it himself. BTW....technicians never seem to be at the place of business. They're always on the road.
