Wow - have been here twice before and sat downstairs. DON'T EVER sit upstairs. Had a couple of drinks and appetizer, ordered dinner for 4 adults and 2 kids - took forever to get food and then it was cold - we ordered a pizza for the kids---never came. We finally said cancel it and bring the bill. My wife mentioned the poor service and food to the manager who told us " they would take the pizza of the bill" which we never got?? So.. I came here wanting a drink and I was asked many times how old I was in front of my date.. even the door man ID me twice when I entered. The cheapest mixed drink was $11. There was a blond girl that works the bar with the worst attitude. I thought I found a nice hangout place for me and friends but this is surly not the place. We've ordered takeout from here a few times during covid, and we were happy with our food. They have a Thursday steak night special that we ordered once, and we thought we would try it again. Calls rang and went to a full voicemail several times. When I got through, I was told that I could also order online. I only found online ordering capability with Grubhub, and wasn't interested in paying extra for that. When I gave my order, I was told the steak night special is not available for takeout, which wasn't the case with one of our previous orders. I got the impression that my business wasn't that important. Not sure that we will be eating there since covid hinders our desire to dine in. read more

After we gave him our order, he got side tracked and left our drinks half made at the counter while he made a couple of beer orders from the wait staff...we are now at 25 mins waiting for our drinks so we walked out. The people next to us (also sitting at the bar) we upset about the wait. Bartender was unable to handle the volume, unable to prioritize and should probably seek an alternative career. My wife and I spent 20-30 minutes at Prohibition Bar, and NOT A SINGLE WORKER SAID A SINGLE WORD TO EITHER OF US. We were at the table and then I went directly to the bar. We left with nothing. Probably for the best, because the specialty cocktail list looked rather boring and basic. Next time I feel like wasting some time, I'll just renew my license at the DMV. The good: Our food, when we finally got it, was tasty. Our server, Jameson, was friendly, had he not been manning the entire floor himself, would likely have been a wonderful server all around. The bad: Pretty much everything else. As mentioned, Jameson seemed to be the only waiter on a busy Saturday afternoon with all inside and outside tables taken. He tried, he really did, and we gave him a lot of credit for being as friendly as he was considering how overworked he was. The ugly: The bartender had a nasty attitude when asked a simple question. She made very few drinks while we were there but she did nothing to help Jameson wait/clear tables or expedite orders. While I understand that none of those things are her job, the fact that she sat and watched him be so extremely overworked and do nothing to help didn't sit well with our table. A lunch for five was a two hour ordeal. Would we go there again? Not sure. Our experience wasn't great (even though our poor server tried). read more

I saw the write up in the newspaper and was very excited to take my husband there. We walked in at about 8:20ish in the evening, and was seated immediately. The server came right after and asked us for our drink and appetizer order. The appetizers came out quickly (it was delicious) and he said he would check on our drinks. 10 minutes go by and nothing. We finished our appetizer, and still nothing. Another 10 minutes go by and the server hasn't even stopped by our table. It was a little busy since it was a Saturday night, but it is a small location. So there really were not that many people there and where we were sitting he had to walk past us several times. Drinks continuing to leave the bar, but none of them came to our table. Then there was a break of about 3-5 minutes when the bar wasn't staffed at all. My husband then asked the host to check on our drinks. They finally arrived. We wanted to order dinner, but when the server dropped the drinks off he left very quickly. My husband flagged him down about 10 minutes later. We told him we wanted to place an order, the server said 'what can I get for you?" My husband order the pasta for me and order the steak for him. The server said they were out of steak. I was mentioning the burger to my husband when the server told us, 'Actually the kitchen is closed. They already did last call. It closed at 9." He then looked at his watch and it was 8:55 at this point and then he said, "I mean 8." I'm literally at a disbelief at this point because food was still being served to people. We left. To be honest, the other patrons seem to be getting decent service. I felt very out of place and will not return. read more

Prohibition Texas is a very much needed addition in Old Town Spring. I stopped in on the second day they were open, a Saturday. I was actually just driving by to see what their exact location would be, and there was one open street parking spot nearby, so I took that as my sign that I needed to pop in. Wow! Sooo glad I stopped. This place is going to be hugely popular. The cocktail menu is inventive and Belinda, the mixologist, is quite the magician. I had the Smoke-Stung Sour, and it did not disappoint. It was an intoxicating blend of the smoky mezcal & Cabernet and the sweet and sour of the lemon & lime. They had 4 beers on tap, and my sidekick had a Hopadillo and St. Arnold's Spring Bock. We didn't order food, but they have a small bites menu which includes a cheese plate, artichoke dip, various sliders, and more. There was cover music playing swanky renditions of popular songs. The upstairs cigar lounge is not open yet, I believe they said it will open Q2. It is a very chill vibe and will definitely be one of my favorite stops, going forward. read more

Went in there for a beer and food the the beer was ok not cold the staff was really bad,ordered the pork tacos for an appetizer what a joke the chips were good but after that forget it maybe 3 pieces of pork with some kind of Liquid cheese little tomatoes and lettuce ice cold ( I could of done better at Taco Bell went there once before and it was good the male bartender was exceptional ( he wasn't there) I'll only go back when he's there very unorganized staff was very inattentive Went somewhere else to eat read more

I really wanted to like this place because of the locale, decor and concept. Our first experience was mediocre at best. The service left you wanting and there really wasn't much on the menu that made it stand out. We chalked it up to it being only weeks old and were willing to give it another try. Fast forward to Valentine's 2019: With reservations made, we arrived to not only have to wait 10 minutes for someone to help us but to also learn 1 of the 2 advertised dinners for the night was sold out. That should have been thought out better and was very disappointing since we were there for the steak. I reluctantly ordered the second option, the salmon, since I was hungry and the menu was limited to sandwiches and smaller appetizers. Once my dinner finally came out, the rice was too hard and the salmon and asparagus too cold to eat. I'm usually the type that will suck it up but unfortunately had to send it all back. The drinks are good but nothing that really warrants returning. Their redeeming quality is the whiskey collection, hence the reason for the two stars, but frankly the cons outweigh the pros on this one. Would not recommend when there are places like Sabbatical, Jive and Brixology on this side of town. read more

The cocktails are always on point and they definitely take their time and lots of attention to detail in each drink they create.
