Brisket Sandwich
Mitch S.

This restaurant is a marginal 4. I think my expectations coming into it were low, and it exceeded them but not by much. The food was good, my brisket was tender and flavorful. The fries were not that good. You got to choose two sides of barbecue sauce with your meal I went with the chipotle and hot. But I couldn't even really taste much of a significant difference in flavor between the two. If you come here for barbecue, you will get barbecue. The plates are a decent portion, although I think slightly overpriced for the overall quality. That being said, the service was good and the small town ambiance was nice. So it's a decent spot for lunch but don't expect to be blown away.

I was genuinely surprised by the food. Worth a try. I enjoyed the brisket sandwich which was tender and not dry.

Underwhelming

I l'm living in a hotel while caring for my senior dad who is in hospice, and I'm really sick of assisted living food, plus I wanted to see the beginning of the Illini game and grab a sandwich and a drink, but lesson learned: I should've gone to It'll Do. Since I'm an invisible 60 year old woman and I dared to come in alone and sit at the bar I couldn't get the time of day for better than 10 minutes (or at least the last 4:23min of the first half.) . And hey, maybe if you're a dude you're welcome here. Or Maybe if you come in with a man and sit at the bar, the young female bartender will acknowledge you. But otherwise, expect her to tend to her fellas without so much as giving you any eye contact that she sees you. Two guys walked in after I'd been seated at the bar for five minutes who were welcomed and asked what they wanted and served. Too bad she doesn't know I'm a keystone tipper I guess because I sure as heck won't be today.

Stopped in for the first time last night and was really impressed. I tried the wings, pulled pork, slaw, cheese curds, and cornbread muffin. The wings, pork, and curds were excellent. The meet was moist, tender, and flavorful with a nice crispness to the wings. The curds where a great combo of crunchy breading and soft gooey cheese. The sauces I tried were good (hot bbq and peach). The muffin was just okay, though the honey on top was a nice touch. The beer selection was solid and included some nice local favorites. The ambiance reminded us of BBQ places we've been to in Nashville...perfect for a low-key BBQ joint. The overall meal was excellent and we look forward to going back. Oh, the service was also great...super friendly and quick! Give this place a try.

2 meat BBQ bundle (Brisket, Chicken, Mac&Cheese, Cole Slaw and Cornbread)

A great eatery in the countryside of central IL in the small town of Mahomet. I had the 2 meat bundle and chose the brisket and the chicken as my 2 meats. The plate also had a house made cole slaw a premium side of Mac & Cheese and a small peace of cornbread doused in some honey. They also brought me a selection of their sauces which were 6 in all that were, Original BBQ, Mango Habanero, Carolina Mustard, Kansas City Peach, Raspberry Chipotle Bourbon and the Sauce of the month. On the BBQ plate, the brisket was fantastic. The meat was very juicy, tender and succulent. The chicken was slightly dry but was juicy and very good. The Mac & cheese was good but not the best compared to other places. The cole slaw was great as well. Not mayonnaisey yet a little tangy and the cornbread delicious, soft and the right sweetness with the honey added on. Finally had the apple pie for desert and a house made Ice tea to drink. Wish they could have made the apple pie a little more presentable. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving smoked Turkey

This is the best BBQ place in my opinion in all of Champaign county. Forget Black Dog and Hickory River. Their meats are always juicy and flavorful and I love their array of bbq sauces. (My favorite is the raspberry bbq sauce) unpopular opinion: their smoked chicken is very good with ranch. I always get the cold slaw and tator tots for sides. For Thanksgiving this year we ordered their smoked Turkey and we were SO impressed! Super flavorful and moist. Why would we go back to making our own Turkey? I just wish they offer it throughout the year!

The Tex-Mex combo. Brisket, pulled pork, chorizo, cole slaw, Mexican street corn, flour tortillas, queso, salsa, and chips.
Natalie V.

The Tex-Mex combo was huge. Definitely could feed 2-4 people. The Mexican Street corn was ok, but not as flavorful as others we've had. The ribs were very yummy. Service was great.

Definitely a place to go! Jess was an amazing server! One of the best bbq places Iv been too!

Super good food after a long road trip! Easy access off the freeway and plenty of parking spots!

Good menu and drink options. Casual albeit a bit loud. Been aware they do not have a full menu all day so if you want BBQ, call first.

The food was beyond anything I expected. The wait time was reasonable and the staff was very courteous. I highly recommend.

This was your average barbecue. Don't think we will return here. Potato salad was excellent.

A no frills spot for solid BBQ. The online ordering is great but I have never eaten at the restaurant.

Wow! Who would have thought such a wonderful restaurant would be located in Weldon. It is worth a…read morespecial trip if you like barbeque. The chicken was cooked to perfection. It was smoky and tender and pealed right off the bone. It wasn't saturated in sauce either so you could really enjoy the chicken on it's own merits. The brisket was wonderful as well. Even my daughter enjoyed it and she is a picky eater. But the star of the show in my mind is the homemade brat. They have multiple different flavors of both pork and chicken brats. They were so good that we bought extras for home. These aren't fatty and greasy like store bought brats either. You could tell these were made with love and attention. I could eat the jalapeno-cheddar brats every day. Seriously. I could go on and on forever. The baked beans were honestly the best I'd ever eaten. I would go out of my way for them and I don't normally like baked beans. The sweet potato chips come with brown butter and marshmallow that you can dip them in. The portions are very generous and the prices are very fair for this caliber of food. The staff is friendly and prompt, and the owners don't mind taking time to chat with you. The place is not much to look at from outside, but the interior is impeccably clean and very inviting. The only potential negative is that they are only open from 5-9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, but that only makes it more of a treat in my eyes. I can't wait to go back and try the ribs! UPDATE (3/26/12): I went back, and tried the ribs. UNBELIEVABLE!! I left nothing but bones behind... and trace amounts of sauce too, but that wasn't for lack of trying.

You can't go wrong with anything you eat here! Best part is, it's 22 SECONDS from my door to…read moretheirs! Turkey legs are our usual, but tonight i tried the 1/2 rack of ribs. I got through almost 3 ribs and called it quits. Sooooo much meat! And yummy to the bones. I chose to use my fork but dive in fingers first lol because it's sooo worth it! The turkey lega are huge and hot! Smokey and amazing. Went on vacation and got one a a fair a few weeks ago. I had such high hopes but NOTHING compares to mamma d's! Sides were mac and cheese and corn on the cob. I love her mac and cheese but don't ask what's in it, she may tell you and if she does, you will gain 10 pounds! Last time i asked, there were 5 different types of cheese! Yummmmmmm and they all go perfecty together. Whatever you do, save plenty if room for a giant serving of Mt Dew Apple Dumplings (the real reason to go lol. Dessert first if you must!) I will truely miss this place when we move soon :-( luckily it's obly 25 miles away lol Enjoy. And don't drool when you see my pictures!
