Let me regale you with a review of my experience at Legends Corner. Upon walking in the décor was an understated elegance. I was greeted warmly by Dylan the Manager / Barkeep. I ordered an "Old Fashioned" and called out Makers Mark as my preferred bourbon. What arrived at my table was nirvana in a glass perfumed by a thinly shaved orange peel and a quality drunken cherry fine details usually skipped by most cocktail bars. As I sipped this artisanal crafted elixir we chatted briefly about bourbon, the Bourbon Trail and Dylans travel across Europe. Not only is the gentleman a wizard mixologist but the conversation was warm and engaging. I began my tour of culinary pleasures led by Tara my waitress, her service was timely and engaged. She freely shared her knowledge and experience of the menu and presented the dinner specials of the evening with confidence and panache. My appetizer was a cup of Brisket Chilli, and a side of their house-made Legendary Potato Chips. The subtle smoke flavor of the brisket complimented the mildly seasoned chili, and the chips were crisp and enjoyably seasoned. If you prefer your chili with added heat, please request a bottle of Tabasco sauce. The entrée I ordered was the Blackened Salmon Fillet. The fish was cooked to a perfect temp and doneness. Rare in a midwestern restaurant the salmon was flakey but not overdone, the apricot glaze was a lovely accompaniment and the sauteed greens were a delightful addition alongside the smooth mashed potatoes on the plate. I heard rumor of the Bacon Jam Green Beans so I added that side to the trio on the plate, the spicy sweet was exhilarating. Gentlemen I dine out often and travelled here from North Idaho where they really do know how to cook a salmon fillet. I would say the salmon dinner that was presented to me this evening was in the top 3 ever put in front of me in my 60 years of rotating the sun and at half the price. I finished my culinary tour with a generous slice of Pecan pie from the rotating dessert menu which was presented to me by Mel the the Lead cook / Owner of Legends Corner, the pie a perfect finish to my dinner that evening. A four-word recap of my experience at Legends Corner would be skillful, scintillating, extreme value. We found this restaurant by chance, during a recent trip to see family. When we got into town we drove by the location and noticed their curb appeal. I knew that it was a spot I was going to try. I wanted to call ahead so that our large party wouldn't overwhelm them, but I couldn't find a number. I wasn't going to let that stop me from trying to get us a table (or 3 table for our party of 10). We rolled in on a Friday evening, they had a great crowd. I went inside to discuss our party size and check for availability. I was greeted at the door by an employee and after talking she made it very clear that they would love to have us. She made seating arrangements to accommodate our party. We were invited in with open arms. This is the type of hospitality that is missing from so many dining establishments, not Legends Corner! The menu was full of really good selections. The service was top notch! There wasn't a single moment durning our dining experience that made me feel anything but welcome and that they had us taken care of even with their full house. The apps were quick, delicious and portioned well. The entrees came out in perfect timing, pretty much all together! A 10 top, served together, without a hitch! Kudos for that, alone! The food was delicious. The presentation showed their love of food and great service! This place gets an 11/10 from me and my family. We will definitely look forward to coming back to town and enjoying again. I don't have any pics, you've gotta take my word for it. Hands down, one of the best dining experiences of the entire trip. Legends is a perfect spot for food and gathering. We started coming here when they opened last year, and now come in at least a few times per week. The vibe they create is welcoming and fun. The staff is very friendly and always attentive making the experience all that much better. They have solid drink options - can have a traditional beer, local brews, or a very well rounded selection of crafted cocktails. The food is always good; from the traditional burgers, to pulled pork, and rotating specials that taste truly home cooked. The half chicken meal and lasagna are my favs. There is a great patio outside. Inside you can watch a game or listen to the occasional live music. We have found coming here to be an all around great experience. The place is perfect. read more

Beautiful renovated historic building that serves made to order delicious food. It's not at all traditional bar food, but an elevated experience. The menu offers something for everyone, wether it is pan seared salmon, smoked meats, or specialty burgers. Everything is wonderful. This establishment is very clean, has friendly wait staff and the quick service is appreciated.We highly recommend and if you're into bourbons and such...it has a wonderfully well stocked bar that offers higher end liquors. read more

Legends Corner is a very nice establishment inside and out. We sat outside in the patio area and had a great experience. Waitresses kind and very helpful. I had a nice cold beer, and my wife enjoyed her cocktail! I had the smoked beef sandwich with fries which was very good, great portion size and not a long wait! My wife had the fish sandwich which was huge! She had onion rings as well that were tasty and perfectly cooked. Can't go wrong at a place like this! Solid experience all the way around. read more

The ribeye sandwich was so good and these are arguably The best fries I've ever had. When I say I loved it all, I must because the coleslaw and onion rings couldn't be better either. I've been to this restaurant a dozen times and going to eat there is something I look forward to when I'm in the area. This meal was $14 and the portion was big enough for me to take half of it home. We have loved coming to Legends since it reopened this fall. My spouse LOVES the burnt turkey ends - at first it was a special and now it's part of their menu. Couldn't be happier. Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Personally, I'm a fan of the brisket chili with coleslaw and our teenager loves the cheeseburger and fries. Always had great service and the food quality has been consistent. Highly recommend! read more

Ordered a special that was a grilled cheese sandwich and bowl of soup. I was brought a sandwich on cheap white bread that was barely toasted, the single slice of cheap American cheese was not melted in the slightest, and the "bowl" of soup had very little barely warm soup! We dined in at Legends Corner in Monticello, Illinois, and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the live music made it such an enjoyable night out. I had the salmon dinner, and it was absolutely amazing--perfectly prepared and full of flavor. My husband had the soup and gourmet toasted cheese, and he loved it. I don't know how to explain. Atmosphere Is Very Relaxing. My Favorite Is The Breakfast Burger, Which The Bacon Jam Adds A Lot Of flavor. Our Waiter Was Super Kind. Restaurant Also Has An ATM. Legends also has the best selection of bourbons in Macon County. The food is fantastic and the staff truly cares about you having an enjoyable experience. As soon as I walked in, I felt right at home. Very cozy, and inviting ambiance. The staff was friendly and polite. On top of that, the food was amazing. I had a few drinks as well...and let me tell you, they pour it heavy over there. Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back! read more

This special pairing was so good. I don't get to go to legends corner as much as I want, but when I'm in Monticello, it is a sure stop.
