Saddlebrooke, Missouri is an upscale residential development off Highway 65 between Springfield and Branson, where my wife and I were going to build a house on a beautiful idyllic lot overlooking pristine Bull Creek. Concrete footing with rebar for stem walls was poured and set years ago for a large house in Seven Pines gated subdivision. Then, our plans changed, we decided not to build ... Fast forward to the present, when we needed to restore the build lot to its original condition; which would require demolition and removal of concrete structure including rebar, excavation, adding fill dirt, and grading of lot to create a natural slope and contour suitable for mowing. A major project! Working blindly and knowing virtually nothing about demolition, landscaping, or excavation, I took on the rather daunting task of researching options and identifying qualified area excavators. During this time, I spoke with dozens of SW MO area excavators, and finally narrowed down the list to about a half dozen vetted contractors with their cost estimates. Careful marketplace analysis, referrals, a website presence, responsiveness for quote, telephone interviews, all this due diligence helped to separate the pretenders from the presenters; which all pointed in only one direction, and that was Carr Excavating and Landscaping, LLC based in Galena, Missouri. Call the Arkansas Attorney General office, they will verify also. He currently owes us $47,000.00 for money we gave him for supplies and labor that was never bought or finished.

Brian Jarvis was supposed to put a wall up made of block and it took him 4 months to complete it…read more3/4ths. He said he was done when I wasn't able to check it out. He took the final payment and never did complete it. I had someone else hired to complete it and cover up an uneven wall only to find out the blocks were only laid on top of each other and not mortared together! It all had to be taken down, and since a lot of the blocks were only partial pieces, they couldn't be used again and they all had to be disposed. He only poured footings on one of the 3 walls and put mortar at the base to make it look like a footing had been poured. His job was nothing but deception! He deserves a zero instead of a 1. I've had to report this to the Consumer Complaint division of the Attorney General's office.

They replaced our old chase cover with one that was so flat that it had puddles on it after it rained. They drilled rusty screws down through the TOP of the chase cover to fasten it, instead of stainless screws in the side. Then they put a booger gob of caulking on them to try to seal them. Then they got crazy with the caulking and tried sealing the chimney collar to the chase cover, which defeats the purpose of the collar to allow air flow. Somewhere between all of their installation errors, they defeated the very purpose they were hired for, which was to stop the chimney from leaking in our garage!!! Brandon and Caleb from Lakeside Chimney did an excellent job on our chimney! Even our General Contactor was asking for their business card.
