Terrible service. First they pound me everyday, I sign a contract, i get busy with life after just recently having a baby. So It took me a little time to get them the past merchant statements and now I have emailed them nearly 5 times and called them another 5 times and left messages and not even a single reply, answer of the phone or call back! I'll start with this; I've been in business for myself for over 2 decades and I've been processing credit cards as long as I can remember. I've been with Prolific for 2 years now and these are my experiences. Cons - The contract seems to have a longer duration than other processors. If you choose to cancel your agreement plan on paying a boat load of cash out of pocket. I have 2 terminals in my business, I would owe $500 per terminal and a $250 cancellation fee and I'm sure there are other items padded into that cancellation as well. Pros - These guys have the best service and lowest processing rates around. The statements are well laid out and transparent. I've been approached by other merchant services providers who HAVE offered me a lower rate, at this time I showed the rate to my sales rep and he beat it that day. My rates are so low right now that when I show my statement to other competitors such as Chase Paymentech or First Data (Bank of America) they leave me alone. My sales rep is fantastic, keep in mind that these guys work independently and sell Prolific products so the rep experience may vary. Don't assume all of the reps are terrible people, mine actually keeps up with me and shows me how I can cut additional costs (Send me a message and I'll send my reps info to you). Summary - When it comes to processing rates, fees and transparency these guys appear to actually have the best value. The only thing I would be concerned with is if your company is brand new as if the business isn't strong enough to make it you may be looking at some hefty cancellation costs. read more

I have used Prolific Business Solutions for over 5 years now and couldn't be happier. They were among the lowest monthly cost compared to all the other companies I was approached by, which is, of course, super important when opening up your very first business. When I first started my business in San Francisco, I was approached by several merchant service companies, all of which charged over 1% more than Prolific Payment Solutions. So PPS was the obvious choice to me. Their customer service is also amazing. I love that they answered all my questions and made integration super simple. Prolific Payment Solutions also makes billing simple and very transparent, which is important to me because I've seen other merchant service bills from my friends who own their own business, and they are very difficult to read. Jonathan Chao was our representative from the beginning, and he has not only been the best representative at Prolific (in my opinion), but also has become a really good friend to me. I have recommended him to all my family and friends for merchant services. To add to all that, what I like about Jonathan and this company most is that they will revisit your account with you when new rules and regulations have changed to ensure that you are getting the best service for your money. I hesitate giving even 1 star - this company has overcharged us even though we haven't done any business with them for a year and a half. They keep the bills coming -- the bill states Internet Gateway access $5 and like I said there has been no internet business done by them on our behalf. They also charge $8.95 for a statement fee? Who charges for this. Another charge is Service Maintenance Fee and they have nothing to service. They told me I needed to send a fax to cancel my contract which I did but they still haven't honored it. read more

Prolific recently threatened to sue me for defamation of character for my review. Uh- oh, does this count as an 'experience" with the services of Prolific? I think so. Their reputation has been tarnished by my review in particular and the only way to reverse that is to remove said review. Now, I've been contacted on 2 separate occasions by their sales manager to say, the post has got to be removed. I'll add it wasn't in a "hey, we screwed up and we are better now, it was a you will do this and you have to do this and you are simply wrong for not doing this"...Okay, got it. They didnt' complain that I wasn't a customer they just remember the experience very differently. I decided to clear up and clarify my review for the sake of all involved. Here it goes. Their attorney took issue with the statement, "robbing you blind". To clarify, I used the term figuratively. What I mean to say is Prolific overcharged me for their services which is what I meant when I stated they charged more every month with no explanation. To be clear, they weren't robbing me, that is criminal. No, in my opinion, Prolfic is just extremely inept in helping you with credit card processing. When I say INEPT, that is my opinion and I based said opinion on the fact that Profilic would repeatedly fail to transfer funds to my account as agreed upon, in the time agreed upon, for the fee agreed upon. They failed to adhere to the terms of the credit card processing agreement they signed when they outlined all the cost associated with their product, like procesing fees, interest costs, charges for cards as a result of being keyed in v. using their equipment. Again, did they rob me blind, you could say that figuratively but certainly not literally. Let me put this another way, Prolific is NOT A CRIMINAL. I hope that clears things up. Also, when I say they were difficult to reach, it should be noted, they would have extremely long hold times, sometimes up to an hour but as their lawyer points out, I reached them at least 4 separate times before cancelling and then a few times afterwards to kindly ask they stop taking funds from my account after the contract was cancelled. Those times I contaced them afterwards, was to have funds refunded to me for the fees they continued to charge after the contract was cancelled. So, waiting on hold for up to 45 minutes and reaching someone on every 5th time of calling counts as being available to your customers? I'll give you that Prolific. As I re-read my review, I realized I left much of my business dealings with Prolific out of my review. Now, they have accused me of libelous behaviour and I don't want that so I'm going to tell you everything. I didn't just sign up for credit card processing, they also offered payroll services. And, my experience was less than stellar. My opinion, no robbing happening here. Prolific would fail to process payroll and what would that mean you ask? Well, it would mean my employees didn't get paid, all those direct deposits didn't occur and all those automatic bill pays my employees relied on to pay their utilities and rent, didn't happen. Not once, but more than once. Prolific didn't communicate how much payroll was or when funds should be transferred, it was a guessing game. Ever want to work somewhere where you didn't get paid? Me neither. Guess who didn't like me...my employees. Guess who I had to thank for that, Prolific!! And, when I needed tax documents, like a 941 form, guess who couldn't provide it for quite sometime as in weeks and weeks..Thanks for that Prolific, you are an AMAZING business partner. Like dumpster fire, amazing. ( waiting to see what their lawyer does with that statement, just to be clear, Prolific did not start a dumpster fire at my business) Is Prolific good at helping you out with your business? You decide, everything in this review, is simply my opinion. Just to be clear, Prolific is not a criminal, Profilic can be reached by phone, with a live person, eventually and I'm still in business and learned never to use them again. We used this company for 4 years. I never felt that they knew my company or understood our needs. Every time I called with a problem it seemed the person on the phone did not know how to help me. It took a lot of work and time to resolve each problem. In the end when I changed companies they charged me more money than I felt was right. The day I changed companies was a relief. I do not write reviews often, I think this is the 3rd review I have posted in my life, but I felt it was a good idea. The knew company I went with asked all about our company and what we might need. I have been a client of Prolific Business Solutions since Fall 2011 until Dec. 2017. I went to cancel my services because I closed my business and moved across the country. When I called to let them know they said okay and that they were going to refund me the $99.00 they took out of my account back in Dec. I said thank you and I appreciated the service they provided so far and that I would return to use them and recommend my friends at a later time. December came and went. January came and went. February came and I started calling and asking them questions. Where is my refund? Why hasn't my account closed yet? Why did your company take out $68.83 on Jan. 1/3/18 and $59.23 on 2/5/18? I spoke with Brian Cooper and James Dodson who both claimed to be the Regional Vice Presidents. They both agreed every time I emailed them and called them that they would refund my money from Dec. 2017 thru Feb. 2018 seeing how I did not use their services and had been trying to close the account for the past 3 months. Now it is June 2018 and I have yet to receive my refund from January and February. BEWARE of this fraudulent company and it's employees. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT WITHOUT YOU PERMISSION REGARDLESS OF THE CONVERSATION HAD. I will be talking to my lawyers about this ASAP! I just canceled my services with prolific business solution. I did this after 2yrs with them come to find out that I was locked in a 4Year!!! CONTRACT!! Who does that?!? My Sales rep Hubert was useless and deceiving by not helping me,and not telling me that I would be locked in a contract for 4years!! He couldn't even help me prorate the cancellation fee. I've received a full refund of the early termination fees and all fees that continued to be billed after termination of their services. Collection efforts have apparently been also discontinued. I have been using Prolific Business Services for over five years now. I used to get approached by many different companies and have had some very bad experiences with companies quoting prices very low and then changing them later on. I love the personal service that Hubert Gotuaco provides. He goes over how the fees are charged and is always available when there is a problem. He even gives you his direct number in case there is a problem. No need to call an 800 number and sit on hold for hours. The extra fees by Prolific are high. While they offer a decent percentage rate, the monthly fee and added on fees are significant. I just cancelled my account because I had to change website hosts (previous host changed business focus) and decided to have my new site with SquareSpace. SS does not work with Prolific. I'm being charge $395 as an early contract termination fee. I understand. I signed the 4-year contract. I was never happy with Prolific's fees from the beginning. I have had to look into new services (for the second time after being with a company 8 years, they were crooks- so I've done my homework). This was the most upfront experience by far and I switched over to Prolific opting to have to pay a termination fee just to be free from my old company. Companies will tie you into contracts and raise rates without ever disclosing any of that information. Larry Gordon was the associate that worked with me and got me fair rates and played no games- every thing was up front and all questions answered. Their rep in my city that signed up our two businesses for merchant services changed the paperwork on one of them (on one page) to reflect fees I did not agree to. My signature is not on that fees page. After repeated attempts to reason with them to no avail I have to say I would strongly recommend any business owner to think twice. Make sure you KEEP everything you sign for years if you choose to do business with them! We signed up with them two years ago. My rep for them at the time switched one page in my contract (which I cannot prove because that one page is not in my copies of the paperwork I kept) and now I'm paying a huge fee that I did not agree to. In the last six months my monthly fees tripled even though my number and dollar amounts of transactions did not change. Go to your bank for a merchant account because most no longer have long term contracts anymore, as it should be. My other business that I signed up on the same day with them contained the correct fee agreement but they cannot understand that we never would have signed our other business under the fee terms they claim that we did. We no longer do business with Prolific Business Solutions and never will again. Their shortsighted view of this situation is both aggravating and surprising. read more

Edited to add: I was just contacted by James from Prolific Business Solutions to help resolve my situation. He asked me to delete or amend my review in exchange for returning my "early cancellation fee" of $395. I will update the review to reflect their customer service in this matter. Initial review: This business is a scam. I signed up with them but never finished the paperwork so I never did any business with them. When I reviewed my bank statements I discovered they were taking money out of my account each month, which is something they never informed me they would do (they didn't tell me there was a monthly fee). I didn't do anything about it for a while because I am a very busy mother and small business owner and the amount was only $5 per month initially and I figured I would eventually finish the paperwork and starting using their services. I Then I noticed they started taking $30 out of my account every month. I tried to cancel multiple times and couldn't get anyone on the phone. I finally did after months and they told me this was a fee for NOT doing any business and it would be refunded once I started processing with them. I told them I wanted to cancel my account because I didn't know when I would finish up the paperwork and they told me I was locked into a contract and there was nothing they could do about it. They NEVER told me I was agreeing to a contract. I told them to cancel it anyway and they stole $395 out of my account and I had to put a stop on them through my bank. At least that finally stopped their thieving, but not before they have literally taken hundreds of dollars from me without me every doing any business with them. I would totally NOT recommend Prolific Business Solutions to anyone who needs a credit card processing company. Not only do they misrepresent their fees charged and do not make clear that you are signing a three year contract, but they also charged me a yearly PCI compliance fee that was never refunded when I chose not to renew my contract after 3 very frustrating and expensive years using their service. I am very disappointed on the customer service in general. I had a seasonal business and I made an agreement with them before I gave them my business that they have to put me inactive for a good number of months and will let them know to activate me again. I called to put my account inactive immediately after the season was over. came to find out they were still pulling money from my bank. called again and I was assured they will process my request and refund the money. saw them again pull the money from my bank draft next month. I spoke to the so called supervisor and promised me on the stack of bible to correct the problem and refund me the mounting unnecessary charges. to my dismay after 4 months, I saw my statement got charged again. I was so fed up, and decided to go to my bank instead, paid a fee to initiate a stop payment. I felt that I rather pay a fee one time than have to deal with this ***. by the way, I am writing this not to smear anyone's reputation but to make you aware that a good company can become bad because of the customer service you hire. I know im sure for many you are satisfied. I'm just another business owner and I'm good what I'm at my job but not at the tricky credit card merchant. I got a prefer from my friends and most of them they are nail salon owners and don't have a lot experience about knowledge what's the real number and trick what they try to get you. I got Jeff Guill convinced me to sign the contract at the first time met him with out my knowledge what's exactly I was signed for. I realize that I made the decision too soon and decided to cancel in 2 day after. I thought at lease you have few days to rethink. but they still charged for my cancellation fee $395 even though I had not moving for any thing yet. I felt very upset at myself and called the company to dispute but Brian Cooper was the one that I deal with. I'm telling you all. it was even worst the experience I ever dealing with . He was not telling you think correctly and try to manipulate for what he is trying to make you STUCK. after for 3 moths dealing with him things was getting worst. They with draw again both my two location acct. for terminal fee. which I sent back in the first location and second location was never received. I was angry and tired of keep calling them and Brian never return your calls which he promised to get back.
