This place is great and offers great pricing..Lamar is professional and friendly. He let me know what my car needed before making any repairs. He even went above and beyond by checking the air pressure in my tires after he completed my oil change because one tire was reading low pressure on my dash board. While traveling from AZ to San Diego for a family vacation, the hood of my Ford Expedition started smoking. We pulled into the nearest gas station to evaluate and coolant would just pass right through to the ground, my car literally coasted into Proline Auto Care. While our google search said they were open, they were closed and by the grace of God, Lamar was there with his brother. Our family vacation was in chaos, but my Expedition ended up being in the best of hands. It ended up needing 'major surgery', but I was sent photos and communication was easy. My children had a great vacation while I worked on getting everything fixed. Proline replaced the turbo and made sure it was safe to drive and even helped with securing my Expedition's shipment back to Arizona. I had my clutch upgraded to a stage 3 clutch at a shop in Chula Vista on my 17 Civic Si and that mechanic did more damage than actually doing the job. I had my downpipe and front pipe reinstalled incorrectly, my shifter kept locking me out of gears, metallic sound as I drive in low RPMs, and an oil leak from my turbo oil return hose! My knock control was staying very high since i received my vehicle from the clutch job. The mechanic couldn't fix what he damaged so I took it to Lamar at Proline. Lamar adjusted my front pipe and the sound was there but not as bad so he didn't charge me for the labor. I drove home then gave him a call an hour later and told him to do whatever it takes to fix it and that i noticed oil on the ground. His response was, "I'll figure it out don't worry about it". I dropped my Si at Proline and an hour later, He calls me and notifies me that was turbo oil return line was damaged. He ordered it from Honda that same day to fix that issue the next day. He texted me "civic is done" I told him that I'd be leaving work late and he waited for me after closing hours just to pick up my car. I received my car running absolutely perfect with no metal rubbing sound, no oil leak, and perfect shifting. The price he charged me was technically the price for the part. Just as he told me before he did the work and nothing more. I should have took it to Proline first. I would of saved myself a headache. I definitely recommend going here first if you want the job done correctly and in a timely fashion. Now just need to wait for springs to be released for my car and I'll definitely be back at Proline. read more

The owner, Mike, is a really fair and friendly guy. I think most of the staff is family and friends. They are really honest about what repairs are needed, and will not urge you to get unneeded work done. Not as polished and neat as many repair shops, but do great work and treat you like a friend. 2014 Update: Mike's sons are doing much of the work now and I have stopped using the shop because the work quality has greatly decreased with same vehicles being returned 2-4 times for the same problem. Also referred a family member to them who drove the vehicle to the shop and waited for many weeks while they were analyzing and trouble shooting what was wrong. After two months he became tired of the lack of progress and told them he would be coming to pick the vehicle up. Vehicle no longer ran when he went to pick it up, and had to be towed from the shop. They helped my Mom and me out, and literally brought us to tears. We needed to fix my Moms car in order for her to pass smog and get her car registered. The shop contacted us to let us know there was a repair that arose in the process that proposed a potential problem. Although it wasn't mandatory immediately, it would eventually need to be fixed, and was going to cost us another $200 . We declined, as I was already putting this repair on a credit card, and could not afford anymore. When we picked the car up they informed us that they had went ahead and replaced the part, at no extra charge, because they had to take the part out and put it back in anyway due to the location of the mandatory repair.
