A few months ago I started to have severe back pain that radiated into my hands and feet, I was diagnosed with 3 herniated discs in my cervical spine...I was always skeptical about physical therapy but I was willing to try anything... I have been to other PT office before where they simply put an ice pack on you and don't much else for you, and they working on 5 other patients at once. The difference with David is it is a focused 1 - 1 session with your get undivided attention for a full hour. The office is clean, organized, and the table is sanitized in between patients which I appreciate. David is very knowledgeable and calm and explains the reasoning behind each exercise. I like that he varies the routine to challenge me and keep it interesting as well. Within a couple of months my pain has subsided greatly and the flexibility of my neck has increased greatly...He is also a great guy, always positive, upbeat and encouraging. Dr. David is amazing. He's the real deal. I found him through Yelp after going to a chiropractor who diagnosed me with SI joint issues due to postpartum. She was adjusting me 3x a week, but it wasn't helping. The pain was so severe that I couldn't do normal, daily activities like walking or sitting. I didn't know what else to do, so I looked into PT. It was the best decision I made for myself. After the first session with Dr. David, I felt a little better, still had a ton of pain, but I was hopeful. Last spring I began having serious hip pain related to getting back into running and exercise after having a baby. Dr. Marc was incredible -- he took the time the understand/identify the specific nature and location of the pain, and led me through a series of exercises and workouts to help with strength building so that I could get back into running safely. Been to 6 different physical therapy/ medicine offices, and Dr. David Jung is the best for anyone who wants to get back into the game strong, with confidence, while minimizing pain. In my case this meant getting back to climbing after a traumatic shoulder injury - a dislocation. Dr. Jung is a climber himself as well as a master of seemingly all physical disciplines, hardened with military training, and he exudes a steadfast competence and caring bedside manner that put me at ease right away. Unlike other practices, you are with the doctor the entire time. He'd work on the body to ease pain and address any discomfort, then progress to warmups and exercises, building steadily from gentle to more strenuous, forming good habits along the way. I'm the kind of person who needs to know what's going on and why, and Dr. Jung was happy to oblige. He taught me anatomy of the shoulder + the injury, described the role of the muscles involved, and explained the physiology of the movements we did and their importance for stabilizing + strengthening the shoulder throughout all the positions/ rotations. And he doesn't mind repeating whenever I need a refresher. The purpose of physical medicine is to heal and strengthen but also, crucially, to prevent future injuries. Dr. Jung taught me to improve my climbing form and reduce risk of injury by emphasizing scapular retraction - keeping them down and back. He armed me with exercises to perform before activity to prepare the body for strain. I was initially hesitant to weight the shoulder, but as I saw how closely he was tracking my progression through therapy and training, I trusted that he knew when it would be safe to do so. I had an unrelated leg issue one day (from running) and he took care of that too. Here is a person who truly loves helping people and seeing them get back to the activities they love. In sum, Dr. Jung is a genuinely good person and a fantastic physical medicine practitioner and personal trainer. Impressive work ethic too. Really a one stop shop, and I especially recommend him to my climbing folks; he's located close to the Cliffs rock gym in LIC, very convenient. I went to see Dr. Jung for some knee pain from running that I had been experiencing for a while and to take some preventative measures to make sure I wouldn't further injure my knee in the future. Dr. Jung taught me a variety of exercises to strengthen muscles related and stretches that would help. He is patient and listens to your issues and takes time to explain how all the body parts work. You get a video recording of the exercises to reference and can see your form. Now I have a library of exercises/stretches to continue to work on. I am also more aware of the correct form when doing various exercises. My knee is a lot better now!! Highly recommend! read more

Tore my left medial meniscus half a year ago, and was referred to Lion Physical Therapy. Dr. Andrew is knowledgeable, charismatic, and very engaging with all his clients, both professionally and personally. I could barely bend my left knee when I first started, but after eight sessions I'm almost completely back to normal (the rest is all based on time for my knee to fully recover). The room is fully air-conditioned, with all the exercise equipment needed for you. There's also a water station so you don't need to bring your own. David is hands down the best physical therapist I've seen. He's super compassionate and will really listen to your concerns and take them into account. I started going to David to treat injuries that I'd accumulated over the past few years (wrists, ankles, shoulder). He took into account every part of the picture and outlined a thorough plan for rehabilitation. He's really knowledgeable about targeted exercises that will strengthen specific parts of the body. He can explain in an intuitive way how these parts work together and why an imbalance can lead to impaired performance. For someone like me, being able to get answers to questions that might be annoying to the average practitioner is really motivating because it helps me understand why I'm doing what I'm doing. I can tell that my current exercises are really making a difference-- sometimes I even see results within a session! I would especially recommend David if you're a rock climber like me. He can really tailor your therapy to suit your climbing goals! He is an avid climber himself, so he really understands the kinds of stresses and strains that are associated with the sport. I found Dr. David through Yelp when I was having some muscle spasms in my neck. He was able to fit me into an appointment later that same day, which was a life-saver. One of the things I like best about Dr. David is that he always listens to you. He is super patience, super knowledgeable, and he combines his physiological expertise with your knowledge about your own body, which is something other doctors don't tend to do. He was able to alleviate a lot of my neck pain the day I saw him, but also gave me exercises that have helped me to manage neck pain/stiffness on my own. TL:DR -- Highly recommend. Dr. David is awesome. I've had tendinitis in both my arms that was not only severely limiting my climbing but also affecting my ability to do daily tasks like pouring tea or washing pots and pans. It was affecting my quality of life. Since starting with Dr. David, my recovery has progressed wonderfully. Dr. David helped me understand how the different parts of my body were connected and how tightness, weakness or imbalance in one region could result in pain elsewhere. He's helped me get stronger, looser and more flexible. I'm back climbing v4 and, while there's still pain, I'm on my way (BTW, if you climb, it's really important to have a PT who knows climbing). I also just plain enjoy Dr. David's company. He loves what he does and approaches his practice with pure passion. We talk about life and business and all kinds of things while we work.
