We didn't get back to Edmonton until nearly 3 a.m. What disappointed me most was the follow‑up. Instead of acknowledging the customer experience, most of the communication focused on explaining why they weren't responsible or obligated to do anything. The tone in parts of the exchange felt condescending rather than caring, and the only gesture offered was a $30 discount code that requires customers to spend more money with them. That doesn't rebuild trust or reflect the time, cost, or stress of the situation. Based on both the incident and the way it was handled afterwards, I wouldn't book with MagicBus again.

I didn't have to drive, you can sleep most of the way there. They do a quick stop in Edson for breakfast and Supper Get you to the hill by 9:30am and Leaves by 4-4:30pm. We watched movies on the way home and relaxed after a day of skiing. Affordable and included a lift ticket. The driver and Guide were acomidatating and fun. Can't wait to do it again!!

So we need to get Chinese visa…read more The Chinese Consulate is in Calgary, since we didn't want to go to Calgary (twice), We search in google and find visatochina, who is authorized to accept visa applications and take them to the consulate for you and they are also the largest visa provider in Edmonton because we found a lot of travel agencies collect passports for them. They are in the west end and the office is beautiful. The visa costs $92, and they charge only about $33 service fee on top of that which is super reasonable. If we go to Calgary ourselves, the gas will cost us much more than that. It takes about one week to get the visa back, pretty fast. You can also pay more to get rush service, which is only 3 days, but we had no need for that. The visa application form, as well as all the required documents are available on their website. They checked my documents carefully to make sure everything is fine. For the payment, they take cash, debit and credit card. But for the credit card, they charge 3% service fee which made me a little uncomfortable. When they explained to me that the Chinese visa service center don't take credit card and the charge service only to cover their expenses which is charged by the bank I think it's acceptable. After they take all the documents and money, they'll give you a receipt with a pick up form. On the form, there is a pickup date which you can pick up your passport on that date of after because they guarantee the time Our passport came back exactly as they promised and their receptionist is very kind and served us with great patience. Red Arrow has been around forever, since at least the 90's when I remember riding it as a kid and…read moreteenager between Edmonton and Fort McMurray. Years later, Red Arrow is still a fantastic option for travel within Alberta. I booked ahead of time through Red Arrow's website, but if there is room on the bus you can book as a walk-up as well. I love that as a solo traveler I can reserve single seats on one side of the bus, and have that seat waiting for me. Routes run at a variety of times, and you can cancel for a full refund up to three hours before departure. You need to arrive 15 minutes before departure for boarding and they'll check your name and seat assignment as you get on the bus. I love how flexible this traveling option is, especially compared to the hassle that flying has become. There are snacks, pop and water in the back of the bus, along with a washroom, and a movie plays on a few screens. The movies are usually kind of old and a DVD that the driver puts in, but a nice option if you want to plug in your headphones and listen. Generally I find the seats and the trips to be comfortable and easy, with a stop halfway (Grasslands for trips to Fort McMurray and Red Deer for trips to Calgary). Highly recommended!

The bus is LOUD. The constant banging from the sign on the passenger side destination display is just absurd. Some padding (hell, a pool noodle would do the trick!) is cheap and would eliminate the problem entirely, and would be easy to hide. There's just no excuse for that much rattling for something I fixed by putting my finger there just to see if that would work: It did. The squeaking from loose seats is annoying, and coupling that in with the rattling from that sign for every bump and crack on the highway, I had to put earbuds in to drown the rattling out. Lastly: There are two check lights lit up on the dash. Why is maintenance not being done? Even if it's minor, how do we as passengers know that? My safety is in YOUR hands, it's what I pay you for. My life is worth something to me, even if it isn't to you. Fix your busses. There's zero excuses for engine lights and rattling and banging and squeaking.

We were picked up and dropped off in Churchill Square by the transit stop and Tix on the Square. We learned about Edmonton's history, culture, demographics, and even politics as we rolled by so many attractions and points of interest. Our bus was comfortable and the sound system was great. Our host Greg was a very cool laid back sort who made the trip very enjoyable. He stopped the bus a few times so we could take photos of the spectacular scenery. Some of the things we saw included City Hall, the Winspear Cocert Hall, Edmonton Sport Hall of Fame, Citadel Theatre, Whyte Ave Entertainment/Shopping District, Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, Garneau Theatre, Hawrelak Park, University of Alberta, Fort Edmonton, the huge West Edmonton Mall, the posh Glenora neighborhood, the Neon Museum, and the 124 St Gallery and Shopping District. Oh, and at the end of the tour, you get a free cookie ! It was a terrific way to learn about the area and see some very nice sights.
