I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff at this ER. From the moment we walked in with my daughter during such a scary situation, every single person we encountered was kind, patient, and compassionate. They made sure my daughter understood everything that was happening and constantly checked in to make sure she felt heard and comfortable. They truly treated her like more than just a patient. She was able to have a CT done there, and the results confirmed appendicitis. The team explained every next step in such a simple and reassuring way, which helped calm all of our fears. They also communicated everything directly to the Children's Hospital we were transferred to and even arranged ambulance transportation for us. In one of the most stressful moments as a parent, they made us feel cared for, supported, and safe. I am beyond grateful for the incredible care they provided. Had to find an Urgent Care while in San Antonio and my DIL suggested Prestige Emergency Room. So glad I did. Not only was it close to home, but it was not packed as a matter of fact, I was the only patient there. I as I'm and out with breathing treatments and X-rays in an hour. Staff was great. Thank you to Dr. Fernando and his amazing team for being patient with me and making me feel welcomed. I came in for something that was an embarrassing medical issue for me, but not once did they ever make me feel like they were disgusted by my medical issue. They did a cat scan to confirm they could operate there rather than refer me to general surgery and I was happy I had my issue resolved the same day. I asked 3 times if I had to pay upfront or if I could be billed out. They waited until I was in the back waiting for labs and an IV before asking me for $850 to be treated. I reiterated that I had asked multiple times. I had to leave sick and without help. Don't waste your time. read more

I was misdiagnosed by the NP for pneumonia and came back with worsening symptoms of shortness of breath. I saw the Dr who correctly diagnosed me with bronchitis and with the treatments he provided am finally feeling better. I don't know if the nurse was having a bad day but she told me to invest in a pulse ox because I'm probably having an anxiety attack and that my oxygen levels were fine lol. How can you tell if someones fine without ABG's? I hope she finds joy in her job again. read more

This has been my go to since i first visited over a year ago, I typically don't like going to ER's because the wait is always crazy but here they've been pretty quick, the staff is always so sweet, the office is always so clean and they make sure they take good care of you while you're there. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. Front desk staff Jennifer was incredibly rude and defensive when I asked a simple question. My Nurse Monica shoved my injured hand repetitively into a splint that was too small and even though I was crying and told her it hurt, she told me I didn't have a choice and to deal with it until my swelling goes down. I've had a lot of emergency room experiences because of chronic conditions- but this acute injury and the care I received has me feeling like a total idiot. So incredibly disappointed with this cafe. I knew I was having a heart attack. I told the staff and described my symptoms. Staff insisted I was only having a panic attack and treated me as such. To the point of being condescending. I described my arms being numb, to which the nurse replied "That's because you won't control your breathing." I'm not a medical professional, BUT shortness of breath is a symptom of A HEART ATTACK! I was left alone in a room in agonizing pain, suffering through a heart attack while a nurse popped in to tell me she couldn't help me unless I could calm down and control my breathing. I truly thought I was going to die in a room surrounded by medical "professionals". I even begged my husband to call an ambulance to save me from this place. After 2 hours, they removed my IV and were getting ready to send me home when they decided to do one final blood test. The blood test revealed an enzyme that verified I had a cardiac event. At that point, the nurse had to put another IV in my other arm and prepare me for transport to a hospital. I received a half-hearted apology from the nurse and doctor before transport. Absolutely ridiculous. They're so wrapped up in their own smugness, that they forgot the golden rule of listening to their patient. I am so thankful I made it out of there alive. read more

My daughter has been vomiting and has had diarrhea and when we took her in to see the doctor at this ER they just brushed her off. Told her she's dehydrated gave her something to help with the vomiting and said drink fluids. She still felt the same when leaving the ER but being the quiet kid that she is, she did not speak up and tell them she still felt like crap. I spoke with her shortly after she left there and she said she didn't feel any bet r after they gave her some pill and made her wait for 30mins. I called to ask what the protocol was for my daughters issue and the nurse, Mayra, said that she was fine when they let her leave and said she didn't know why my daughter lied (about feeling better). I corrected her and let her know my daughter is very shy and she didn't speak up but she is NOT a liar. This means my daughter did not feel comfortable enough to speak up and tell them how she really felt. We will not be returning to this location for obvious reasons. I do not recommend this ER due to the lack of empathy and for calling my daughter a liar. And FYI- i am not one of those mothers that thinks my child does not wrong...this ER is not compassionate at all! read more

I've gone to this ER several times and recently had to go during covid , for testing . The wait was minimal (about 2 hours ) to be expected during these times with everyone trying to get tested . When we finally got tested the nurse and doctor were very friendly . I'm sure they had been asked the same questions daily ... but when we asked our questions they were happy to answer and very friendly . We got our results in about 3 days via email . The whole experience was great. From check in to check out . I know these nurses and doctors are working like crazy right now and putting their health on the line and I appreciate how we were treated and they didn't seem upset or annoyed by dealing with the same patients after patients getting covid testing . Very poor organization. I was in car accident and went for a check up at 6pm. The front desk people were nice and once I filled out the paper work they told me I would get a call to come in. I left the lobby area because there was already to many people with Covid checks. The wait seem to take longer than normal so I walk in and ask about my status. They said your next on the list that was at 8pm at this time they never ask my name. I got frustrated and was rather hungry so I ordered a pizza at domino's and set the time for 930pm. At 845pm I notice nobody was in the lobby so I went inside and waited. At 9:20pm a man was called but noticed I had been there waiting for a while, so when the lady call his name he said what about him referring to me. The nurse didn't know my name, the same one who said I was next on the list. At that point I was upset and walk out and took my pizza. I went to Methodist ER Hospital not to far from this location. Once I got there they rushed into a bed and supported my needs. read more

On Sunday morning, I had to be taken here due to a rare medical condition. We chose this place because I had a good experience with them in the past, and we knew they cater to our first responders. I was doubled over in pain and had to continually stop due to this, yet was taken to the last room even though I was the only patient there. My sister and brother in law had to explain my medical condition and the events that brought me there because I was unable to breathe and the pain. I removed my shirt and was on all fours trying to breathe and relieve some of the pain. The nurse Monica was not very helpful and had attitude after I told her she would have to start my iv in that position because it was the only way i had some sort of relief. As we waited for the doctor, the pain and inability to breathe just continued to get worse. I had no blood pressure cuff or pulse ox on while I waited for the doctor. When my sister finally went out to find out what was taking so long considering I was the only pt in the building Monica put her hand up and said she was monitoring me. How? Is there cameras in the room we weren't aware of? Finally the doctor comes in and is immediately very condescending and to me felt was judging me based off of my tattoos and how I was unable to stop moving. Even after explaining my condition, his response was that I needed a pain management doctor. Through full blown tears, shaking, and fighting to breathe, I explained I only have pain when my diaphragm is spasming which is what was happening. I explained I took the meds at home that usually stop them and they didn't work hence why I was there. I explained him prolonging giving me the meds to make it stop was only prolonging my recovery. He finally agrees to give me versed, morphine, and Zofran. Well it doesn't work. He says I need to see a doctor for my condition. I inform him that i have a cardiothoracic surgeon, pulmonologist, neurologist, who have all said they can't treat it. He then does labs and agrees to give Ativan. When he returns he informs me my AST is elevated and could mean multiple things but does no further testing or imaging to find what those other things might be. It's at this time that I inform him and Monica that I'm a nurse and my BIL that was there giving them all my info is a SAFD medic and it was only then they were somewhat decent to us. I informed him that the Ativan seemed to be calming down the spasm but the pain was still there. He asked why wasn't I on two types of pain meds and said he'd give me one of them which was toradol. Monica then walked in with the toradol and my discharge papers. She pushed the toradol as she had me sign my DC papers, removed the iv and said have a goodnight. No 15-20 minute observation even though EVERY single time I've needed a toradol shot for migraines I was required to wait 15-20 minutes to ensure I didn't have an adverse reaction. By the time I made it home, I was throwing up again. What scares me the most, is what kind of treatment are those that have absolutely no medical background receiving, if they are unable to advocate for themselves? Dr. Fernandez was excellent the first time I saw him but that night, he was a completely different doctor that made me feel like he truly didn't care. This will definitely be my last visit to this location and I can only hope that no other patient gets made to feel the way I did Sunday morning. read more

We had to stop here today on the way to the lake. My son got seen promptly. Dr. Ogden quick ran tests. He diagnosed him and recommended emergency surgery. He arranged transportation via ambulance and coordinated with receiving hospital/doctor. Excellent care and great customer service! read more

I am a 22 year old student who came in alone because my parents live across the state. I was diagnosed with a kidney infection where they put me on a iv and starting giving me fluids and pain medication through my iv. The doctor tried to send me home moments after my first round of antibiotics. I started crying to him telling him the amount of pain I was in still and he said that he doesn't know what to do besides give me more pain meds. He proceeds to give me more pain medication and I immediately reacted bad and I was super sick vomiting for the whole next hour. After that he gave me a small dose of Nausea medication and then asked me if was ready to leave. I was told I wasn't allowed to drive so I called an Uber to pick me up at 3 am soooo messed up off of pain meds. When I got into the Uber the Uber driver told me that if I threw up In his car he would just drop me off regardless of the location. I COULDVE BEEN DROPPED OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT ON EXTREME MEDICATIONS. I would never recommend anyone to go to this er the doctor simply did not care about me or the severity of my situation. The doctor knew how much pain medication he gave me and how messed up I was and he still let me go home in an Uber at 3 am not concerned about me at all. read more

This ER is the best, I have been to this location multiple times and they have the best nurses and doctors. Dr Ogden attended me a few months ago and he was such a sweet, nice doctor. He gave me advice on care going forward to prevent what I had went in for, he didn't just brush me off, he was so imformative I learned a lot when I went in, he was very personable with me! I saw Dr Lumbreras today and she was so sweet and caring as well, along with nurse Mayra :) They were both so caring and made the experience fast and efficient and comfortable of course!! They are very appreciative of first responders and our service members and have special rates that they discounted certain corners they are able to to actually express their gratitude financially . They are kind, patient advocate, I did not let them know I myself was in the healthcare field when they were explaining my daughters injury in where I was impressed the manner in their discussion with her taking a clueless scared 17 year old patient and dumbing down a medical diagnosis to a level where she understood everything going on and exactly surgery was needed. I was impressed from staff care to maintenance of the facility. The entire experience all 3 visits was of the highest regard across every department and staff member as well as facility. My one wish is these hospitals show the bigger ones what they have figured out to improve healthcare. A standard to strive for. Lastly , everyone seems to love their job there. A++ read more
