    Avoid at all costs…read more Full disclosure: my dad, and one of my brothers, were agents here, maybe still are, hard to tell what's true or who's even my agent (keep reading). The first review for this company from Jonny K. is also one of my brothers, who is praising his own brother Joseph Knowles, as if he's just another pleased customer. So at least one of their 5 star reviews is, well...biased, to put it politely. I signed up nearly 10 years ago for auto, motorcycle, renters, and an umbrella policy. Put them all on autopay, paid every month, every policy, on time. Had a couple different accidents and overall got good insurance services from Nationwide as a company. We recently moved states. I called the agency and was promised that I didn't need to do anything prior to the move, I could keep my coverages in CA until I had a new address in our new state and could register the car there, and then I could call in to switch the coverages to the new state. Sure wish I had documented that call. We moved, I left my coverages in CA, everything still on autopay. Got the new address locked down, got the new drivers license, registered the car, and reached out to Nationwide, as directed, the same week I registered the car. They told me I didn't have an auto policy in effect. So I had actually been driving around WITHOUT AUTO INSURANCE that I had paid for. Turns out they sent a note to my old address in California informing me that they would not be renewing the policy since the vehicle was no longer garaged in California. EXACTLY LIKE I CALLED AND TOLD THEM IT WOULDN'T BE. That mail got forwarded to our temporary address and I didn't receive it before calling to switch over my insurances, but now I no longer had insurance. Try getting auto insurance at a competitive rate while you've had a lapse in your insurance. Go ahead, I'll wait right here. Oh you're back? How'd it go? Yeaaaaaah. Call Provence, they tell me that my dad is my agent and I need to call him. Call my dad, who I still (mistakenly) assumed was my agent. He refers me to Nationwide's Sales Services escalation team. Call them half a dozen times, they called me back 3 times, then stopped returning my calls altogether. Reach back out to my dad back to try to get help. Found out that I actually DON'T HAVE AN AGENT assigned anymore. Haven't for years maybe. Suggest I try reaching out to Sales Services escalation, who as I mentioned have stopped returning my calls. Tl;dr - pay for 4 policies on time every month for a decade. Provence unassigns you an agent without telling you. Nationwide cancels your policy without contacting you. This is the level of customer service you receive when YOUR OWN FAMILY works at the agency. Good luck getting anyone to help you.
