joined Proof Fitness with high hopes, but due to a medical condition, I was forced to discontinue physical activity. I followed their stated cancellation policy by submitting an official medical letter from a licensed Nurse Practitioner on July 15, 2025. Despite repeated follow-ups, they never responded to my request. Then on July 28, 2025, they charged me $296.80 from my debit card without my permission -- after I had already requested cancellation. I've since filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Kentucky Attorney General's Office, and I'm currently disputing the charge through my bank. I had no choice after being ignored repeatedly. If you're thinking of joining -- please be cautious. It's not just about the workouts, but how a business handles its members when they truly need help. For me, Proof Fitness failed at that. read more

It's ok for beginners. They say the have "extensive" equipment, but it's not. See other reviews that you are nothing more than money for the owners fancy cars. Have an injury? Move? Good luck getting them to be anything other than aggressive debt collectors if you have to leave. Terrible business practice. Absolutely no regard for people. You're just a number and a dollar sign to these people. I had a membership for over a year. The contract was over 1 year making my contract fulfilled and month to month. I however did not know that if you don't cancel in writing they will still charge you, and if your payment method has changed (fraud on my card forced me to get a new card) they will continue to charge you and then submit a claim against your credit. Not only have I not been since November, they went after me and because I didn't submit my cancellation in writing they got me for just over 350$. Terrible business practice. I love this Gym. It's the most complete gym I've worked out in. This is truly a one stop shop for multiple workout areas with-in one Gym. They have cardio equipment, ( bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, and stair climbers) cable machines, free weights, smith machine, squat racks, rack systems with flat cable weight, multiple work out studios, staff trainers and a whole host of other amenities within the Proof Fitness facility as well as two convenient locations (Tates Creek, Downtown), so come check it out. absolutely disgusting gym. they throw piss soaked mats from under the urinals wherever they want while they mop with disgusting mop water, the steam room is always gross, the dry sauna barely functions, and to top it all off the staff is unwilling to receive feedback let alone act on it. a stair machine has been broken with a sign on it ever since i returned to lexington back in september. they cut down on services like towel service while raising prices and wasting labor costs on front desk staff that don't greet you when you walk in or when you leave or they just sit in the chairs in the locker room instead of cleaning. If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. Do NOT come here. They will make unauthorized charges on your card. Gretchen Welch is the supposed manager, and she will be the only person able to do anything. She won't do anything. She will not process a refund, she will not return a call, and she will not answer your questions. I am not sure what she does, but her job clearly doesn't involve customer satisfaction or communication. She promised me discount after discount and refund after refund, but she never did anything. Nothing happened. No discounts and no refunds. I only got my membership canceled and my billing information deleted when I showed up in person and hovered over Gretchen Welch's shoulder to make sure she actually did as I asked. This is a shady business that employs unprofessional people. I would caution anyone away from here. Until they fire Gretchen Welch or demote her to a front desk worker do NOT go to Proof Fitness. Two things about this gym to know. #1 they will charge you an annual fee 90 days after you start and just got charged a startup fee. I can understand a year later but not 90 days. #2 don't go for the daycare. I went specifically for that and there were so many children and one worker. The positives (in my opinion) are that the space itself is very attractive and spacious, they have a large quantity of equipment, and prices aren't completely unreasonable. I do not like that their "promotions" and therefore prices are always changing, so signing up for a membership is frustrating in that the price is always different depending on the day you're there, the person you talk to, etc. Also, when I first went and wanted to do a trial membership, they tried VERY hard for me to sign up for a membership without trying anything out, which is suspicious to me. A good gym should want you to come try it out and be confident that they will impress you. They also advertise that classes are included in membership and some are, but the ones that are included are classes that are not very popular and scheduled during the work day for most people. The more desirable classes at better times are an additional $5 each. Finally, most of the cardio equipment has an individual TV which I tend to like, but the number of channels is very limited. I think this gym does have potential, but really wish they would focus more on their gym and classes and less on their complicated marketing and promotions. I did not purchase a membership for this gym, but did try it out for five days, and felt that other gyms in the area (which I also tried out) were ultimately a better choice. read more

I am really impressed with this gym! It's sort of a blend of a huge corporate gym and small personal training gym. The equipment is top of the line, the staff is nice and helpful, and the classes are diverse. The location is great for the Tates Creek area. Only negative: Hated the spinning instructor's style. I've never felt so comfortable in a gym before! The trainers and studio instructors are all awesome, and in the 9months that I've been working out there I've gotten so much stronger and in much better shape. I love everything about Proof Fitness! Has great equipment and zen-like aesthetics. Too bad it's ruined by the loud awful music they blast throughout the gym. Even with Sennheiser earbuds, you can still hear the annoying club music thumping. Impossible to enjoy your own music, get into your zone, and work out. Harsh overhead lights blind you when you bench press. Hardly anyone unloads their plates. WARNING: If you are looking for a CPT, do your research. Many of Proof's trainers claim to be certified by different organizations (ACSM, NASM, ISSa, etc) However, their names do not show up in the databases. I found only two. Proof really needs to be careful keeping their trainers up to date on certifications. If I hired a trainer that claimed to be certified though the ACSM or NASM and later found he wasn't, I'd be upset... Fake credentials, false advertising. read more

I have been going to this gym for three months now. When I joined, the most I knew about the gym was watching American Psycho or GI Jane. I met with one of the personal trainers (Dan) which was very beneficial to figure out what I needed to do at the gym for the results I wanted. I don't dread going to the gym anymore. The equipment is state of the art and they incorporate new and exciting ways to build body strength and motivate (ropes, TRX...ect.) The facilities are clean and when I love that I am greeted by name at every visit. The only con is how busy they are around 6 (when I get off work). However they are an awesome gym so It's expected and I plan my workouts around the peak times. read more

I am very disappointed in the customer service - no calls returned and not willing to listen to your concerns. The staff and classes change all the time - no consistency. When I find a class/instructor I like, it changes. There is also an annual fee which is used to clean the gym and keep up the machines - I don't think that is our responsibility. read more

These people will tell you that you can pay month to month, but there are hidden fees! My daughter found out the hard way that you have to cancel your member ship 30 days before leaving or you will have to pay for the following month.
