UPDATE- this morning a manager by the name of Darrel called me and offered to honor the original quote I got from Pablo, he assured me that this isn't the way the company operates and he was very unhappy about the experience I had received and would be taking care of the situation with his associate. Thank you Darrel for you customer service. As a customer service supervisor, I feel confident that you did all that you could to the best of your ability and I appreciate you! Absolutely appalled and dissatisfied with the service of this company. DO not. I REPEAT, waste your time and money with this company. I used the service, Pablo came out and advised me that it would be 285.00. I repeat. 285, or 630 for 2, I asked and verified this information with him more than once, after the completion of the service, now my bill is 389 plus + tax. When I responded confused, Pablo got confrontational, and rude. Making me feel very very uncomfortable, I just paid the fee to get away from the situation, Pablo THEN gave me his PERSONAL, cell phone #, and told me to call him for a deal on a second key. I immediately called and asked for a manger, was told to email, called today and spoke with mem, explained the situation and I at first thought we were off to a good start, told her I felt jerked around, and uncomfortable. She seemed to understand. Told me to give her 2 hours. I call back 3 hours later to be told she's eating lunch, give her 10 Minutes to call me back, 30 minutes later I call back and she says oh well we can do $30, but if you want more than that you'll have to wait till Monday cause our owner is gone, and we're not gonna do this twice. THEN advises instead of being able to refund to my card, they need to send me a check. I tried to give this company a chance before reporting, but after today's encounter I would love to avoid anyone else having this experience. WARNING: BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM I had an appointment with a company called "Mr. Rekey" through my property manager. When googling to find information to make sure our appointment was still on, I found this website (http://www.rekeyaustintx.com/), and thought there would be no harm in calling and asking them if they were the company "Mr. Rekey". Boy was I wrong. This number lied to me and told me not only that they were the company "Mr. Rekey", but also that our technician was still on for our appointment and would be there in the next hour. Within the hour a technician showed up, and once again verbally confirmed they were with "Mr. Rekey". They then swapped out my locks and told me that what they provided is what I needed for proper renters locks and left after accepting payment via and Ipad square reader card. Imagine my surprise when an hour later I got a call from the ACTUAL "Mr. Rekey" telling me they were on their way. I found out that the original number found through the rekeyaustintx site is a routing agency that works with Pros On Call and regularly gives misinformation on pricing for lock changes. Both the routing company and Pros On Call gave me a back and forth telling me to call the "main office" (bouncing me between the main office and Pros On Call), until I finally got a manager with Pros On Call who told me "I got a good price on a service I needed anyways", despite not getting the service I originally requested and having been straight up lied to about who they were and trying to scam me into their service. They are a fraud. Don't use them, they knowingly bait customers with low prices through their routing agency and then ask for higher payments after completing service and feign ignorance, even though they knowingly work with this routing company. They know what is going on and do this on purpose to try and pull your business. read more

Funny enough the drug addict they sent didn't even say how much it really cost until he asked me to sign some paper work. You guys are pathetic. My daughter requested service because she had lost the key to her Prius. The tech attempted 6 times and failed and the car was towed to a dealer who determined that action fried the veh motherboard. Things happen. However, 5 days later, Pros are dragging their feet and refuse to divulge their insurance company that would allow their adjuster to determine degree of fault. I argued back-and-forth with him for a while for a while before telling him I'd call another locksmith. Then, this pretty huge guy demands I pay him a $30 "service fee" just for showing up and trying to rip me off. The guy is pissed off, cursing, and eventually I relent because I'm feeling a little threatened. I talk him down to $100 (still a rip off) and finally get my door opened. Locksmith showed up, took 20 mins to walk around vehicle and do an estimate. He said $157 and I lost my mind. Then he told me after completing the 2 min task they are asked by the company to get at least $75-$80 if they can and then lower again but he didn't think i would budge. I used Pros On Call for a garage door spring replacement. AK was at the house within 15 minutes on a Saturday. Within 20 minutes the job was completed. Very amicable and taught me a few things on garage door maintenance. Once the job was completed he also did a little preventative maintenance and adjust the opener to perfection. I immediately opened yelp and called Pros on call , at that point a nice lady picked the phone right out and gave me an estimate. Which I was comfortable with, so I order the service. Horrible experience! Called for a locksmith and they wanted $150 to unlock my car. Anywhere else I have ever called in the local area is at most $40. There was no way I could afford that so I refused the service, the agent then insisted on a $19 fee just for showing up and threatened to call the police. Good thing my Mother had $20, because he was not going to leave. They said I agreed on the service fee when I called but it was never mentioned.Do not call them for service, they will take advantage of your crisis. I was late to work and I had to borrow the money, they showed no sympathy and the guy they sent was a total jerk. No one should have to pay that much to get their car unlocked!!! They came to install a keyless deadbolt and re-key the original lock, when the guy got there he had nothing to work with. He went and bought a lock from the hardware store and all I got was a new lock installed. He told me he could not do the re-key because he did not have the tools. He scratched up the inside and outside of my door and left a hole where he drilled the hole for the lock to big. The lock is even very hard to lock on the inside. Shady! Called this company by mistake, thought I was calling pop a lock. Upon calling, the company did not state their name, I ask if they were pop a lock and they responded, "YES". I was quoted: 15 - Service call 30 - Technician fee + Fee based on car type. I was charged 20 for the service call, 30 for the tech fee and 70 for the car type. The technician stated the car type fee was set by the company. Called back to complain and they then stated they were not pop a lock. I Inquired about the service call fee, with no resolution, and the response for the high car type fee was " the technicians are the pros and they determine the car type fee". My call dropped and each attempted call back ended with an immediate hang up. My advice, go somewhere else. read more

I had put out interest on alarm.com for a new alarm system dealer. Cory called me from this company and explained they were local and it would be so much cheaper than my Vivint system. He specifically stated they have 45 techs throughout the Austin, San Antonio and Houston area and that all my equipment will migrate over. I also specifically asked if the company had ever been rebranded and he answered no because I found out that Vivint used to be Apex after I signed up with them. Sounded great until the tech came to do the install from San Antonio (not really a local tech if he has to drive 3 hours for the install), my cameras are old and may be really slow when they transfer over and the kicker for me: the name of the company on the contract was not Pros on Call. So I tell the tech I'm not interested and he puts Cory on the phone who tells me to "F*** off." Not professional and I sent the tech away without signing the contract or doing any install. I'll be staying with Vivint. They might be expensive but at least they aren't shady and unprofessional. read more

This place is absolutely awful. We called to get a quote and they said it be would $19 dollars for an initial fee and $35 for labor, which was what we expected . So, we decided to go with them. Once he got there ( which took an hour) it took 5 minutes to get it open and he told us the total, which was $120..I asked what the additional fees were for and he said it was the lock style? Very dissatisfied with the "service". The young service rep. rushed me home so he could "fix" before his next (2 PM) appointment. Then was late/got lost; fiddled with door for 15-20 minutes and announced he knew he prob couldn't fix it when I had described it over the phone(?#!#? so why come out?) Then wanted to charge me $29 call fee(in lieu of the $19 quoted) PLUS $20 diagnosis fee(didn't really diagnose anything ; wasn't sure). So he lowered charge to $ 40 . I would never recommend "PROS ON CALL,LLC" as his bill states.thought I was dealing with a reputable local New Braunfels firm called N B Locksmith PROS. That's how they're portrayed online. Red alert! I was pricing key fob programing. The stealership in Bastrop wants $840 to make a spare key. I sent an email this outfit to find out their price and almost instantly my phone rang. Then a woman, who's accent I could hardly understand, said they would need some credit card info to get the thing going (major red flag) and she would call me back. I had decided this must be one of the overseas scams and did not want to do business. When I answered my phone I told the lady I found other options. These guys responded quickly to my daughters request to have her car door unlocked. Unfortunately what she was told on the phone regarding price and what was actually charged were way off. She was quoted $15.00 for the trip and $45.00 for the labor. The bill ended up being $110.00. When I asked the tech why there was so much difference between what was quoted and what was charged he said the price my daughter was quoted was the minimum. Tech came out to open my front door. Dispatch quoted me a starting price 50.00 The problem was the tech did the work then charged me 96.00. He did not tell me how much the work would cost until afterwards. So it was my word against his. Pop a lock had quoted 64.00. I went with pros on call because they were cheaper. Called them to have locks "rekeyed". Girlfriend stated changes the locks...its all the same right??? NO, it is not! I told the dispatch lady I wanted front top and bottom rekeyed. I ask how much will this cost, she says I dont know. The tech will CALL when he gets there. well the tech calls my girlfriend confused about the address, and what he was supposed to be doing, since he was getting mix messages from dispatch all day. finally got him to the correct address....still no phone call. daughter is home and they assume oh she is here so we can do whatever without consulting the customer. an hour later I get a phone call from the dispatch of the company WELL AFTER the work is COMPLETED to say oh it will be $427.00.....i was like WTH?? To rekey 2 locks. oh no we did the front and back doors...they NEVER consulted with my daughter to tell her the charges they just did the work, and handed her the invoice afterwards. so they changed 4 new door knobs. when I spoke with the manager it was like oh well I will take off 20.00...this is NOT a way to conduct business. when my girlfriend asked how much will this be, the technician said I won't know until I get there..so why was it so hard to say hey I am here this will cost x number of dollars would you like for me to proceed with the work? the customer needs to know what charges are being presented before you perform the work. That is the thing I am most upset about! we spent 400 dollars on some $20.00 knobs, and our knobs were brand new the cylinders needed to rekeyed. my girlfriend said the manager called last night telling her he would look into it and give her a call back (still waiting) and give a 25% discount next time...there will not be a next time. based on the services they offered on the website I am thinking I would spend maybe maybe $150..I would like a full refund, based on the fact the price of services was NOT communicated between myself, my girlfriend or my daughter, and you all can come and take your hardware back!! Confusion and very unprofessional. My partner called to schedule to have our locks re-keyed and yes when they called me I said locks changed and she said locks re-keyed asked how much it would be and of course they couldn't give us a quote over the phone. The person that was dispatched to my home had our address wrong and was very confused and even indicated that the dispatcher had been giving him the incorrect information all day. So I gave him our correct address and told him that my daughter was at the house and she would let him in. Never received a call about what the cost would be and when he called me indicating that he had completed the work I asked how much and he said he didn't know. I was like okay that's weird. Finally they called my partner with a $427 price for the work and she was very shocked at the price because if you recall we just wanted them to re-key the locks. The dispatcher indicated that she recorded me saying change the locks but my partner said re-key. What happened to just confirming again with both of us what we needed to be done. They went ahead with the job and never gave us a quote or nothing. This was very unprofessional and we spent the entire evening trying to explain what happened and the customer service was horrible basically they are not taking any blame for what happened..POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more
