I have had acrylic nails for 23 years. Being extremely soft, they naturally start splitting on the side. Having good acrylic nails PREVENTS this from happening! And my hands look wonderful. I research Yelp very thoroughly reading as many reviews as possible. This takes days. I selected Will and found his work to be IMPECCABLE, extremely meticulous, top top quality, strong and they lasted 5 -6 weeks before one loosened. He has many many years of experience. A four star rating instead of a much deserved 5 star is because of only 2 factors: the liquid compound he uses to mix with the acrylic powder, and the final finishing "sanding smoothing" step of the new acrylic nail . My dad was a Prof of Biochemistry so I am very aware of chemicals. Will unfortunately uses an unusually strong smelling chemical needed to bond the acrylic powder. I have asthma too and could not tolerate the pungency of this chemical. Then in the final filing/ smoothing of the newly bonded acrylic he uses his tiny electric sander which creates a very fine granular dust which bothered my eyes and caused me to cough. My former acrylic nail beautician in Florida did this sanding via hand. This manual process greatly decreases the high volume of dust. I can not ask Will to use a less toxic pungent chemical nor switch to manual sanding. So sadly I must find someone else. He is an EXTREMELY good artisan and craftsman and gave me BEAUTIFUL nails!! read more

only getting a star to write my review, service was the most horrible experience I've ever had at a nail salon the service is not for ppl of color my feet still look the same as it did when I walked in so I paid $50 for a color change they didn't put any oil or lotion after doing my feet then she used some sand blaster looking thing on my feet I also have a photo of my feet on google it's so ridiculous I can b explain it read more

The proprietors are friendly and professional. They take their time and do a full pedicure, not just paint the nails. I do a lot of walking and hiking and get calluses on my feet--they take care of them. I always leave with my feet looking and feeling great! Not the cheapest pedicure in town but not the most expensive, either. Well worth the price because they do a very thorough job. read more

I've been checking out different nail salons. Will did a fabulous job on my dip powder. He put it on very thin and the oyster color looks beautiful. Even he was commenting on it. I don't know how I'll choose another color, it matches everything. I was a walk in so I had to wait. I was very impressed with this heavy duty power tool he used for someone's pedicure. I want that used on my callus. He owns the place with his sister and is always working. But I'll always ask for him. read more

I'm Asian and shopped around for me and my Black boyfriend's first pedicure date and was wowed by the kindness and quality of the staff here. He was too! We got the spa pedicure and I have not had a place that was better. I'm a nurse and always on my feet and somehow they always manage to get me back to baby's feet. They've got all the fancy sanders and tools and know what you need. Amazingly priced for the quality, a gem in the Twin Cities. PLUS it's near Grand Ave. so you can grab a nice meal or drink before or after There is free parking, but bring cash for payment! read more

I discovered this place as it was within walking distance of my house. The reviews seemed pretty good, and overall, I had an amazing, great experience here! The staff were really sweet and attentive. They even give you a free bottle of water while they pamper you. For $20, you can't beat the pedicure. While they have a $16 deal on Thursdays, it's likely more crowded and noisy. And you know what - you're worth the $20. :) I've been back since - once with my husband (who also got a pedicure) and we are officially fans now! read more

I'm horrified... they completely botched my sister's nails days before her wedding when she doesn't have time to redo them. We didn't bother trying to get a refund but we should have. They also told us they're "not doing acrylics right now." I wish we would have left as soon as we heard that (since my sister's nails are short and she needed added length). Why aren't they doing acrylics..? No explanation for the lack of this standard nail service. The color they suggested is completely sheer and looks basically like clear polish, but when I asked them to redo it in an opaque color, they said "too late now." The polish is also messy and the tech I had doesn't know how to do an almond shape. The two stars are because this place is very cheap and I've had a decently good experience here before. The nail tech I've had seems sweet. But after this horror story, I don't think I'll be coming back. Ugh. read more

This is my favorite nail place! Everyone that works there is so kind and they work hard to do a great job, no matter how busy it is. Their pricing is really reasonable, and they give a small discount if you pay with cash. I usually get gel pedicures, which stay perfect for like two months! I've also gotten manicures and dip, which have been great as well. Highly recommend! read more

I've been a regular patron of Bee Nails for a couple of months now. I've gone to a couple of other places in the Highland area but none of them compare to Bee's. Henry is the tech I always go to, but I've had others and they're all fantastic. They take their time and listen to requests. I always get a dip manicure and a pedicure. Their prices are decent and realistic compared to other shops nearby. Absolutely recommend going here for any of your nail needs. read more

Bee Nails is an excellent nail salon, and pretty much the only place I trust to consistently keep my hands and feet looking nice. Appearances are deceiving- there is nothing special about the inside of the salon, it's not fancy but you're not there for the decor. You're there to get your nails done, and that is what sets this salon apart. $35 gets you a mani-pedi, takes about 75 minutes approximately, a good value anywhere. But the reason they get five stars is for how thorough and patient Maci & Ann are. My services are never rushed, and the attention to detail is what sets Bee Nails apart. My cuticles look perfect, my feet are smooth, and the polish is always beautiful. The salon has a lot of OPI & Essie, and are fine with bringing your own polish to use with your service. One important tip though-- make an appointment! With just two technicians weekday evenings get busy. $65 for acylric gel, smelled like cigarettes, I asked for almond shape and he said no and that it wouldn't look good. Basically argued with me until I gave in to doing square, then he wouldn't cut them as short as I wanted to. He kept saying "it won't look good." Never coming back read more

People need pay more attention to my hands and feet than I do. I refuse to. I hate doing nails - because I ALWAYS screw them up...my polish bottle ends up on my bathroom floor, red streaks splatter my wall and I'm standing there screaming and pulling my hair out. Meanwhile my nails are all smudged and I'm a hot mess. Enter: Bee Nails. I found out about them from an ad in a local newspaper - the kind that pile up inside of apartment building entryways. I clipped out the coupon, only to find that the $30 mani-pedi deal is offered every day. The store was empty, but it was a Tuesday afternoon. The lady who was working on my nails took her time and was very sweet. The massage chairs for the pedicure were pretty beat up and didn't work super well - however I look past that, because the water was warm, the jets worked, and my toes still look great 2 weeks later. I love my usual salon, but I will definitely keep this place in the queue when I need a change of pace. TIP for TIPS - just bring cash!! read more

Great value. I'm not one to get my nails done routinely, but a few times a year I splurge. And it's usually here. The place is nothing special with mismatched decor and it might even be a little dusty, but the techs do a great job and I leave feeling pampered. I've never had a bad experience. I've walked in for most of my visits without issue - only once did I have to come back later due to them being too busy. read more

We went here for the $30 spa mani/pedi recently. I was skeptical about the low price, but my toes were desperately in need of some attention before heading to the beach! Maci did my nails and Ann did my wife's. Both did an amazing job and were welcoming and friendly. The basic spa pedicure included a short massage and scrub. The manicure was brief but thorough and quality. Although they were able to squeeze us in, I'd definitely recommend making an appointment, they were busy and it's currently just a 2 person show (she mentioned the possibility of more help in the future). Had two appointments; when we arrived they were only prepared for one. That one was fantastic and the guy did a great job.! They let us at least sit together as the one was done. I came here with my friend today and we booked our appointment 25 minutes before walking in. The environment was very relaxing and I almost fell asleep. Both of the nail techs were very attentive and kind to me and my friend and were willing to work with us and our wants. While you won't get any extra frills, I really love this little salon. I usually call ahead because they only have 1-2 technicians working at a time. That said, they have given me the longest lasting gel manicures I've ever had like 3 weeks solid! And you can't beat the price. I think it's $25 for a gel mani. read more

I was initially drawn here by the $25 gel manicure price, skeptical about the place. Macie did such a professional and beautiful job on my gel manicure! She took excellent care of me and my nails, suggested the perfect color to complement the one I'd chosen (I wanted a glitter fade), and wasn't the least bit irritated when I changed my mind about the color at the last second before she started. I walked in at 3:45 on the Saturday after Christmas Day, and only had to wait 5 minutes for Macie to finish her client before she invited me back. The manicure lasted less than an hour which is impressive considering I had nail art done. The shop is clean, cozy, and her technique was 100% on point. The tools were all clean, and nobody used electric tools on natural nails. All the clients and staff seemed very happy and calm. Wonderful experience, this is my new spot from now on. UPDATE: one of my nails started peeling 2 days later (today), I called and she said to come in and she'd fix it. Since I was there anyway I sprang for a spa pedicure, and the gentleman who did the service (forgot to ask his name) was awesome: very professional, gentle, clean, and didn't bat an eyelash at my fully grown out leg hairs OR my wonky shaped little toenails. $20 gets you a foot soak in aromatic hot water with jets, nail cleaning and shaping, lower leg and foot scrub, gentle exfoliating callous removal, hot oil massage for lower legs and feet, hot towel treatment, and a perfect polish. I'm so excited to be a regular from now on! read more

I mentioned I had about an hour before I had to get back to work and Lena was so considerate about making sure to not go over, so I'd not miss work at all. She checked in with customers who were waiting for treatments and continuously answered calls as she worked. This woman does like five jobs at once. For people who aren't fans of the vibe: this is an independent AAPI owned business. Maybe we can be cool with not every store culture and owner fitting our cookie cutter view of Minnesota. Personally I love that Lena runs this spot her own way with her own attitude in the middle of a pretty white neighborhood, and she's killing it! Oh and duh: my nails are hot.

Bee did my nails and was a complete snot and acted completely bothered by me being there. She talked to me rudely and told me she couldn't do things I have had done before. Her nails were ok (I can wear them a few more days as they look like thick jelly beans) a little too thick near the cuticle. The salon itself was nice and the receptionist was such a doll and so helpful. I wouldn't go back only because of how rude Bee was. I tipped her $5.00 because that's how mean she was. Usually I am a very generous tipper. Maybe she will be kinder to the next person.

I did rounded nails, and somehow some nails were sharp around the edges and underneath, and some of my black french tip were painted unevenly and i left with nail polish on my finger. I had to unfortunately push my review down to one star. There were issues I had originally ignored as I was excited to come in and get my nails done after about 3 years of not doing so and for my birthday dinner later on. I ran into issues like my original tech not showing at my allotted time for my full set after my pedicure was done, and being charged the wrong amount and my husband hearing the staff say I was charged the wrong amount. I had waited a long time for each of my appointments to start also. I ended up having to remove these nails after the given 2 week "fill" time period and ended up discovering that the acrylic used had come off with an acetone soak in a gummy state and realized MMA was used on my nails. It was extremely difficult to remove, time consuming and very painful, and I'm not really wanting to go back to this salon now. I also recall during my appointment, sitting next to clients who notified their techs that they had issues removing their previous sets. I will say their receptionist is a sweetheart who did handle the charging and no-show of my tech wonderfully and apologized, and they were super attentive to us, so this is not on them. I do not know who supplies the original kits for the techs, but MMA should never be used on our nails.

I was so relaxed, I didn't even want to drive home.. Per my request she focused on my back, neck and feet. It was so fabulous. I cannot recommend Cailee enough! I used a new customer Groupon and the check out process was extremely smooth.
