Given my experience, I advise you to think carefully before treating the teeth of the dentist Lena Andriescu. Because I am very dissatisfied with her work. I had a lot of stress after she treated my three teeth. After her treatment, they need to be redone again. But I don't want her to redo her mistakes, I don't trust this dentist anymore. I tried to fix it for a long time, but no toothpastes helped. As two other dentists explained to me, the reason for this is the poor polishing of the teeth at the last stage of treatment. The enamel of my teeth became loose and absorbed the color of the food eaten. I had to treat those teeth with hydrogen peroxide to make that awful yellow color paler. Otherwise, I simply could not talk to people, I was embarrassed to open my mouth. To prevent my teeth from absorbing the color of the food again, I had to avoid any colored food for a long time. And this restriction in food had a bad effect on my mood and well-being. Also, the dentist did not take intraoral photographs before treatment, which allows you to see the work of the doctor before and after treatment. This helps the patient when going to court. I explained my grievances to this dentist right after the treatment, but she said she couldn't fix anything. I was not offered a refund, and was not assigned to come another day to correct the errors. I wrote and called this clinic, tried to arrange a meeting with her on other days. But at the office they explained to me that I need to wait until this dentist returns from vacation. She never called me even though I asked for it several times. In such cases, if the doctor is on vacation, patients in a good clinic are referred to another doctor to stop the patient's stress. In the dentist's office, I saw outdated dental equipment, which also gave me cause for doubt. I have some knowledge on this topic because I am a journalist who has dealt with the topic of dentistry. I was shocked by the violation of sanitary rules during the procedure. When I needed to spit out wet cotton from my mouth, I tried to find a special container, which is usually located to the left of the patient. But he wasn't! This was the first time in my life! The doctor just held out her hand, and I spat the wet cotton into it. Now I'm looking for an organization that could inspect this clinic. I was not given an antiseptic solution to rinse my mouth with. I usually offer it at the end of the procedure to remove small crumbs of filling material from my mouth. I rinsed my mouth only when I got home. It is also unclear to me why there was a dim light, twilight in the dentist's office. This is very suspicious. When the dentist gave me a small mirror, I couldn't appreciate her work. I saw the result of the dentist's work only when I looked at my teeth in the mirror next to the reception, where there was good lighting. For me, this story is like a nightmare. Because I came to this clinic only for a consultation, and I was persuaded to treat my teeth, which were previously beautifully shaped, with a beautiful enamel color. And I paid as much money to have my teeth ruined as it costs to be treated by the best competent dentist. For the second time this clinic offers to come to them to redo the bad polishing of the teeth. I used to go to Edgewater location since I lived in the area, then I moved so I had to change dentist. My current dentist told me that I needed a crown, but I wasn't convinced and wanted to get a second opinion from Dr. Lena. She said all I need is remove the medium size cavity and a filling and I decided to fix it the day of. Dr. Lena is always patient, kind, careful and very skillful and professional. As someone without dental insurance, I struggle to stay on top of my dental health. I decided to visit Prosmiles after purchasing a LivingSocial coupon: $49 for a cleaning, x-rays, and an exam. Normally, this type of visit would cost $250+. Everyone at Prosmiles is extremely friendly and accommodating. Adeena, the appointment setter and receptionist, helped me find an appointment time that worked with my schedule. The dental hygienist went out of her way to make sure I felt comfortable during the x-rays. Dr. Lena is very skilled and knowledgeable, and she made me feel calm. The office is very clean and modern, and all the equipment is top-of-the-line. Using a tiny camera, Dr. Lena was even able to show me my cavities and problem areas on a flat-screen television above the exam chair. I would love to use this office for subsequent work that I need to have, but the location isn't very convenient for me. When I requested to have my x-rays e-mailed to dentist closer to my home, Adeena did so promptly and without giving me a hard time. I really appreciate this, since my shifting loyalties have nothing to do with my experience. I would highly recommend Prosmiles to anyone who lives in or near Edgewater. read more

What a wonderful place to get your dental work done! From making an appointment to getting my teeth cleaned, the staff made the process easy and remained friendly throughout. The receptionist answered any questions I had and sent friendly reminders leading up to my appointment. I went in for cleaning and xrays.They accept dental insurance, check your benefits and handle all the claims paperwork. The machines and equipment used were clean and advanced. The hygenist was careful and sensitive to any discomfort I had but was also very diligent. And you can watch TV positioned for your chair while they work on your teeth! Very friendly staff! My sister and I were greeted very warmly by the front desk and the dentist was definitely someone you can trust with your teeth. She explained everything she was doing to us and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable. What surprised me was that they have a small camera that they place in your mouth w hich allows you to see your teeth on a tv screen in front of you. So if you have any cavities, root canals, crowns, etc, you'll be able to see it for yourself. That definitely helps build a foundation level of trust with a dentist. The only thing I did not like was when the assistant was taking the xrays. I don't think I've ever felt so uncomfortable and gagged as much as I did as this time. I've had these same x rays done at other places and it was never like this. She had to retake some images because they didn't come out right. A bit of a downer there, but maybe she's new. I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner!! My friend referred me to this place and from the moment I walked in, everyone has been so friendly and wonderful. I don't have dental insurance and I really needed quite a bit of work done so I was very nervous. The staff made me feel right at home and Dr. Lena really explained everything needing to be done without rushing me or pressuring me. They also helped me set up all my payments so I'm comfortable with it. The equipment they have is amazing! They have a little camera that goes inside your mouth and takes pictures of your tooth needing repair so you can actually see it too. And while you're getting work done you can watch a movie which really gets your mind off the fact you're at the dentist. To do cosmetic work for 12 teeth is a big investment that I hoped to do no more than ones in my lifetime. This is why I did a very extensive research before choosing Dr. Lena Andriescu and I have never regretted my choice. First and foremost, I am very much satisfied with the result. I finally like my teeth! When I searched for the right dental office, a doctor's personality was a very important point for me to consider. I was pretty anxious, that's why I needed someone I would feel comfortable to ask many questions and express my concerns. I have read in other patients' reviews that doctor Lena is a perfectionist, that she never pushed her patients to accept her work and always spent as much time as needed in order to achieve the best result. Edgewater office is a boutique style office, clean and cozy, with very few people working there. All of them (I personally met Victoria and Jennifer) were very helpful and made me feel at ease. When I would come for my appointments, I have never felt that Dr. Lena and her staff tried to market or advertise any extra procedures or make good money off me. Before going in to Prosmiles I called to see how much it would be for an initial consultation. I explained to the receptionist that I didn't have insurance and needed to know up front how much everything would cost. I was told the first visit would be free; I could discuss my problem with the doctor and see what my treatment options would be. Once in the office the doctor wanted to take x-rays, I explained again that I didn't have insurance and needed to know how much this would cost, again I was told that there was no cost. After everything was done I went to schedule an appointment at the front desk and was shocked when the receptionist told me that I owed them for the initial visit. I was told that the initial consult was free only if you schedule treatment with them. Now that policy is perfectly understandable but that's not what I was told in the beginning. That whole experience caused me to take my business elsewhere. Prosmiles may do fine work but after that I felt like I couldn't trust them, and for me that's a deal breaker. read more

I never write yelp posts, ever. However, I had such a great experience with ProSmiles I had to write one. I've been seen by both dentists at both offices. Hasbrouck Heights: When I lived in New Jersey, I was seen at the Hasbrouck Heights office by Mircea several times. I've got nothing but phenomenal things to say about my experience. The office itself is very nice and easy to find. The hygienist was friendly and thorough, and the receptionist had already verified my insurance before I got there. A visit to the dentist is not always fun (especially if you're prone to cavities like me), but the doctor and staff all made sure I was comfortable. I initially went to the office for an annual cleaning / checkup (because I thought I had another cavity). Dr. Andriescu was friendly, funny, caring, and polite. He filled the cavities that I had and made sure pain was nonexistent. I have been to plenty of dentists but never felt quite as satisfied with their work or had such a comfortable experience. I've since recommended this office to friends who live in the area and they all have had similarly positive experiences. Dr. Mircea even called a friend of mine (that I had referred to his office) while he was on vacation because she needed a pre-chemo consult / appointment setup. This level of patient care is precisely why I have such a high regard for this office. I'd recommend this office to anyone living in the area (or anyone willing to make a bit of a trek) for great and trustworthy dentist. Edgewater (2 years later): After I moved to the city, I didn't want to switch dentist offices. I ended up making an appointment at the Edgewater office because it was closer to me. I was seen by Dr. Lena Andriescu, and she (as expected) was great. This office was also very nice but comfortable. The receptionist was very friendly and I never felt rushed when I had to call the office (I had to push my appointments around a few times because of commuter problems and she was very patient in working with me to find an accommodating time the same day). The hygienist was great and funny (in fact, I don't think I've ever met a hygienist so passionate about dental hygiene). So far at this office I've had a cavity filled, had a veneer put in, and took impressions for invisilign. Dr. Lena is nice, funny, and professional. What I particularly love about her is that she is a perfectionist and I never feel like she is rushing through an appointment. She is just as concerned with making sure my smile is perfect as I am. When the lab initially sent over a veneer that wasn't exactly the right color she had them remake it for me. Clearly, she is more concerned with the quality of her work and patient satisfaction than anything else. If you are looking for a great dentist and friendly staff, I would without a doubt, recommend Dr. Lena. One final, for those of you who are a bit skittish during dental appointments, they have TV screens above the chairs at both offices to keep you occupied, I thought this was s nice touch. read more

Dr. Lena and Mircea Andriescu are a rare find in this area. I have had the pleasure of being a patient at Prosmiles for the past 4 years and I couldn't be happier. Dr. Mircea has been my dentist since I moved back to NJ. I'll admit, I was quite the dental disaster when we first began. I had a less than stellar family dentist my folks have had since I was a kid and ended up losing most of my dental health in the process. From botched root canals and fillings to nerve damage, I was a hot mess! Then came along this guy! It's been a four year journey and I can tell you, I have never been so happy with my dental health. First discovered ProSmiles thru a Groupon Deal for a Cleaning & X-Ray promotion. Who knew they'd be the ones I'd call on for an emergency Root Canal months later. I called and the next day they were able to accommodate. Few months later I decided to upgrade my 10 year old bridge work from another provider with ProSmiles and couldn't be happier with the end result. Smiling and feeling like a million bucks. Note: I had a temp bonded bridge til the final one was ready. Embarrassingly it broke while at Lunch, but they were able to get it fixed immediately the same day at no extra cost til I was 100% satisfied. Dr Lena spent 4 uninterrupted hours to have my veneers done and all i can say is WOW! For the first time in my life, I can smile and feel confident in myself for having a beautiful smile and healthy gums. had been to multiple dentists in the past and it upsets me I never knew about this place sooner. It would have saved me a lot of headaches. The staff is amazingly friendly and they really had great tips to offer me since i seem to be cavity prone. Excellent dental practice...I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and had my cleanings done here. The wisdom teeth extraction was (honestly) not painful at all and done very skillfully. I get all my cleanings done here as well. This practice is a husband and wife team who are very personable and kind. The environment is very clean and modern. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Honestly this is one of the best places of business (not just for dental) I have ever experienced.
