Without naming other establishments this one goes above and beyond to make sure my issues are addressed in the best possible manner. Tony is my go to therapist, he's personable, compassionate, and really takes time to work with me. He makes sure each exercise is done correctly to be the most effective. He doesn't force anything that is too painful, which I can't say about other establishments. Although my issues are pretty bad, he without a doubt helps me relieve some of the pain. If you don't use Tony there are some other great therapist too, they are never understaffed! Best part is they are open 6 days a week which is super accommodating for my work schedule. I couldn't recommend EPTG any more. I highly suggest giving them a shot if you're looking for a therapist!!

Our primary thought behind out of home treatment was based on a on going infection which we chose to have round the clock monitoring. *ADMINISTRATORS- Admissions Director PJ was our first contact. He provided a tour without an appt (walk in) as well as an in depth summation of the organization, services and resources. PJ was consistently in communication, available , responsive, supportive and followed all the way through on all our needs outside of admissions. Samantha who assisted us with Medicare awareness and Medicare file management to best suit our family needs. Johana & Samantha reflect the leadership for sure. *NURSING- Director Elaine we also made acquaintance on day 1 tour. She was friendly & welcoming. She had great questions about our medical needs. We communicated our goals & expectations. She was extremely receptive & supportive through to the end. Assistant Director Bambi certainly follows leadership. She attended our frequent meetings for update. Thank you to the entire team. *OCCUPATIONAL & SPEECH THERAPY. Director Namesh. One miscommunication. It was not clear of the process to take our family out for follow ups. We over came quickly and professionally. Thank the young man who trained us on how to place our family into the minivan. (Braids or dreads, we regretfully did not get his name). We can say that the team here will secure your loved one. We saw concern. Thank you. *SOCIAL SERVICES - Susan is leadership here. She was available upon our admission from the hospital. That's when we met. Susan is always available. She responds to email quickly. I did not have her direct extension so I emailed. She responded or showed up at the room to speak with us. Thank you. *DAILY CARE- Judy is our favorite of the bunch. Judy we are so thankful for bathing Dad, clipping his nails, your genuine patience with him, shaving his beard and dressing him. Pro-Private parking is available behind the building. Pro-Provides well light parking area. Cons- trash incinerator leaks drainage which obstructs the walkway from parking area to the building. Yikes! We suggest moving that compactor to another location asap. It's creepy & foul even in the winter. *ENTRANCE:Always secured with a friendly greeting. Weekends included. Check in and check out is consistently done. The driveway is always accessible. Given a designated area for pick up and drop off which made it easy to bring our family member in/out for follow up doctor visits. *CLEANLINESS:Parking- was lots snow so we did not observe trash cleanup. *Entrance, Lobby, Gym, Communal Recreational Room & hallways - always clean free from debris starting early morning to evenings. No odors. *Room- we would give a thumbs up here. Continuously kept. No odors. No dust. All equipment and furniture are functional and in great condition. Side note, warm and toasty during the winter. No drafts. Room curtain are there for privacy. *ROOM BATHROOM- was maintained but can be better. Our first shared patient was great. We understand that each occupant has different needs, however our with second shared patient had an orange/yellow residue left in the restroom. We had residue in the tile grouts and a left over odor after cleaning. *FOOD:To our surprise, the food was tasty and presented well. (Yes, we tasted what they served to our family). Kudos to the food & beverage team for consistent , above average meals. Service times are consistent and food is hot at service. Kudos to the 1st floor team who we observed multi tasking to ensure food service was not disrupted every day. OVERALL, this organization provided services beyond our expectations. We are a very involved & active family. Day in, day out, every hour of the day, we had a positive experience.

The caregiver constantly manipulates the family against each other in order to get his way. Every time I try to replace him the agency interferes and ignores my requests even though I am the one hired them and I am the one who pays the caregiver who I dislike immensely. I should not have to be a situation where I am forced to keep a caregiver that I dislike. They don't return my phone calls and they ignore my requests to get a different caregiver. Instead of working with me to replace this caregiver who has created an extremely toxic environment, the agency will go behind my back and reach out to another family member who has very little to do with the caregiving, is easily manipulated and it results in arguments about replacing the caregiver. I don't want a caregiver who is only in it for the money and who does not have patients wellbeing in mind. I constantly have to step in and make sure the patient is being cared for. I should be allowed to replace a caregiver that I have no trust in. The caregiver should not be in charge and the agency should not be in charge. Thay have made a difficult situation even more difficult by pitting family members against each other. I dislike them immensely. Be careful

I began my physical therapy for severe mobility issues a couple of days before the first lockdown. As we heard of the news of a pending lockdown, my first thought was my physical therapy would now be delayed for an unforeseeable amount of time. This was not the case. As the news reached A Better Life, I watched as Dr. Michael Mastropasqua sprung into action, immediately disinfecting every machine and piece of equipment as it was being used. Needless to say, there was no interruption in my therapy, and the constant disinfecting is still practiced. As I continued my own therapy, I watched as patients came and went. I was taken by an 80 year old woman who came in seeking therapy for her recent diagnosis of Parkinson's. As Dr. Michael explained he needed to have her on the table for initial therapy observations, you can see she was very concerned about getting herself up onto the table and the embarrassment this might cause her. Dr. Michael saw her struggling with what she needed to do and he gently got her on the table with no problem or embarrassment to the her. Lastly, I was especially taken by a baby, who was probably no older than 1 year, who came in with his mom because he was having difficulty turning himself over in his crib. Dr. Michael immediately began the treatment. Several days later, which might be hard to believe, another infant, most likely the same age, came in with his mom, having the exact same issue. After a couple of treatments, both babies were rolling over with no issues. On one of the babies last treatment day, Dr. Michael was demonstrating to the mom what exercises needed to be done at home. Dr. Michael proceeded to put the baby on his back and placed both his forefingers in front of the baby. The baby reached out and took both of Dr. Michael's fingers into his own two hands and lifted himself up doing actual sit ups. How this baby knew how to do this is beyond me, but with the help of Dr. Michael, he did know how. As for me, my therapy will resume over the next couple of months, at which time, I'm sure, I will receive exactly what I need from A Better Life Physical Therapy to continue on the path to wellness. My legs are at least 80 percent better, and I can thank Dr. Michael and his patience, and my own hard work. I hope everyone finds what they need at Able Body Physical Therapy. Good luck!!

There is a comforting vibe in there that's between a private doctor's office and local spa. Everyone is very organized and able to help answer any questions you have. There's a great view of Jersey City and NYC across the water that adds a sunny disposition to your sessions. PT Jen is wonderful. She's got a passion for her job which carries over to her staff. The desk ladies help around the office with lil things from bringing heat pads, to changing the radio station. Everyone is friendly and responsive, and check in on you as if they can sense when you need them. Jen juggles a busy morning so well, everyone gets her full attention, and she never looks stressed. She's got a mommy vibe mixed with a coach vibe, and when you gradually get better, she's just as happy as you. I've had one session with PT Josef, and he's great too, nurturing, and professional, and seems genuinely excited about helping people in various aspects. I attended a fundraiser boxing event he organized that provided scholarships as well as charity. I've come in at all stages of my pain, from grumpy to depressed to angry to encouraged, and there is always a smile, an adjustment, a challenge, a well-timed heated pad, and a supportive conversation. I can't say anything bad about the place, except I wish the bathroom was inside the office, but then that's not their fault, it's the old building architecture. My next step is surgery, but I'm better off having had therapy first. I've learned about my body, how to strengthen my core, exercises to do after surgery, and I'm able to walk into this surgery knowing all I need to know for a better recovery.

As to the social worker Ms. St instead of doing her job she suggests I stay with my son or sister. Totally unprofesional. Next I call Medicare to file an appeal. She rudely interrupts my meeting with the doctor. Accusing me of saying I was discharged & I needed to cancel the appeal. Medicare associate corrected her on her assumption & told her she had to rescind it not I to protect my rights. So what happened to my filing an appeal with the insurance. It was never mentioned. As to after care I am on my own.

The negatives are that the therapists are under constraints to keep the treatments as short as is clinically justifiable so patients may be discharged prematurely. Also they are a teaching institution so the therapist may bring in a student. This necessarily shifts the therapist's attention from treating the patient to educating the student - turning the hands-on part of the treatment over to a raw beginner..
