We planned our wedding from out of state, and this proved to be be a non issue for the staff as they easily set up phone call and zoom sessions with us and our coordinator. We felt the pricing and expectations for what was available and offered to us clear and well explained. This is an amazing space that is essentially a beautiful blank canvas, meaning you can do as much or as little as you wish here. Our day of coordinator helped us secure many vendors to fulfill all the duties of the space, almost all who had worked events here before and had nothing but good things to say. When the day of arrived, we were given free reign of the space and politely checked in with every few hours to see if we needed anything on their end. When the wedding kicked into full gear we had a small unexpected hiccup (outside their control), which they promptly worked to fix and followed up with us after the wedding. I really felt they did an amazing job with customer service and providing a clean, open space to make our dreams a reality. We brought in two food trucks, and two drop off catering to which the space lended well. The house bar staff was great and the whole day truly was a dream. TLDR; This is an amazing space, that really lets you fulfill all of your DIY dreams. It's beautiful enough on its own, but lends well to any additions you want to bring in. There was a street fair outside which they had told me daughter would be finished up by 3. It finished sometime around 7. There was NO SIGN - nothing. Apparently there's a sign on one side, but that door was locked. Most of the guests had a real problem finding it, which makes sense. They saw a street fair and big building with no markings on it that looked like a factory. We understood that we'd have to do everything, and thanks to her wonderful friends it ended up looking fantastic and was a great party. But the Loft really did nothing except take her money and open one door to get into the room. They literally couldn't have done less.

The space, the food, and the budget all worked for us. The only reason this is not 1 star is because it wouldn't be fair since we did not end up holding our event here. If you'd like to know all the in and out details here we go: I feel I gave the coordinator Barbara a lot of grace - this is an insane time for the restaurant and event industry and people in general - but ultimately I couldn't continue pursuing an event with her in charge. I reached out via email - no response for 10 days I followed up - she responded I reached out again - she didn't respond for 7 days I followed up again- she responded, apologized, gave me info, and said she'd get in touch with me again shortly with her availability for a meeting 2 weeks pass I follow up again - she responded with no acknowledgement of the time gap We schedule an in person walk through - she emailed saying she'd be a few minutes late. After 15 minutes I emailed her back letting her know we were waiting in front of the event space. After 30 minutes of waiting we knocked on the door of the restaurant space and there she was inside. No apology. It was baffling why she didn't look for us at the event space - we realized then that we had seen her walk by 15 minutes before, laptop in hand. Because it bears repeating I'll repeat - she never apologized. She only hurriedly said she left her phone in an uber and then rushed us through the meeting. It was obvious that she was not taking us seriously. She was patronizing. She seemed amused that I had brought a list of questions on my phone to ask. The only positive to give is that she knew something about the space. I came to the appointment happy to give it a chance (even if she was running a few minutes late), and I left angry and insulted. 3 days later she reaches out, apologizes lightly for being late, and asks if we have questions. 5 days later I email her for a sample contract as she had mentioned in our meeting. I've never heard from her since. We are now working with a different local place.

There wasn't enough seating for everyone so only family could sit. They had no way to get to this area from the inside without going outside. STUPID! Now to the venue. The place itself is very pretty, but totally impractical. There is marble everywhere, stairs too. Problem? Stairs have cracks in them and I almost fell down the stairs because my heel got stuck in a crack on the steps. There's what looks like a bucket open "elevator" that was out of order. How the f**k do you have a venue that holds 250 people with no working elevator. Plus everything was on different floors. There were elderly people and some with canes, that had to go up and down the stairs. Ridiculous!! Can you spell FIRE HAZARD? The "cocktail hour" - if you could call it that - was practically non-existent. There was no place to sit and there was 2 small trays of food - one with fruit and the other with rolled up salami on a mozzarella "stick" or wrapped around a sesame bread stick. Looked like something you'd find in a supermarket. All small amounts. Maybe there were 6 little bistro tables with 2-3 chairs at each table. Certainly not enough room for all 250 people who were in attendance at this wedding. The bar was a joke as well. Couldn't get a glass of water it was so packed in the lobby area. Do you see a way to get out of this venue should there be a fire? I didn't. From the lobby floor area you could look down on the tables where everyone will be sitting for dinner. There were salad plates at each place setting that was sitting out for at least 2 hours before we would be going down for dinner. Seriously?? Soggy and small. Yuck. There was just 1 bartender in the main dinner area. The bartender couldn't even get the drinks right! Now the waiters come around to take your order off of the menus on the table that the bride and groom chose. We were hopeful that all the food would be good. First course was Pasta alla Vodka. Trust me... this was NOT Pasta alla Vodka. There were these dark bitter herbs (tasted like Tarragon!) all over the pasta that was gross. Plus the pasta was so over cooked it was mushy and falling apart. Main course didn't fair much better. I got the salmon which sounded yummy from the menu. It was drowned in too much sauce and still managed to be dry. Plus the portion sizes were a joke. My husband got the steak which was also small and overdone. Others got the Chicken Marsala which sounded like it would be good. It was not. The music. The bass was so loud that you couldn't even decipher the song, and the music bounced off all of the marble ceilings, walls, and floors! You couldn't even hear yourself think it was so loud, let alone trying to talk to someone right next to you at your table. After hearing later that this sweet couple paid $30,000 for this atrocity makes me so mad for them. This is by far the WORST wedding venue I've ever attended. H O R R I B L E !!

I booked this venue for my daughter's first birthday party (for October) back in February…read more(pre-COVID). My contract was for 80-100 people. Due to NYC restrictions, they were only able to accommodate 50 people. I asked them for a discount since I had to cut my guest list, but they denied me. They told me that people were still booking their venue with the same rate and I said, "yes because they are aware of the 50-ppl cut off, but I booked this venue BEFORE COVID hit." Then, I asked if they can provide free decor, they said no that I needed to pay for it. They were not easy to work with AT ALL. The day of the event, one of their green backdrop decor was there and even though I bought my own, I said if it was available, I will use it. They said it was being used for another party - but they moved it to the bar area instead!!! So, because I didn't rent it, they just moved it by the bar area instead of letting me use it?? How petty? After screwing me with this contract as it is, they couldn't let me use a decor that was NOT being utilized? They are so money hungry and need a lesson in customer service. I booked the venue from 11AM-6PM. I was not allowed to decorate prior to 11AM but they started kicking out my guests at 4:30PM to set up for the NEXT party. Why are they setting up for the next party on MY PAID TIME? On top of that, their workers were moving around high stacks of chairs with toddlers running around. How unsafe is that? My guests felt bad for me and was angry with how the party ended. I wanted a nice first birthday for my daughter, especially going through this rough year with my husband (who is in healthcare) having to move away from us for 5 months. This party was the unnecessary stress that I did not need on top of everything else. It ended with people feeling bad for me. I will never recommend using this venue to anyone. I am giving them one star because their venue is pretty spacious. Other than that, I am extremely disappointed.
