They still do all those services, and they do them well, but let me tell you a couple of reasons the stars have disappeared. * The price. Has at least doubled, maybe more, in the last few years. I get what it can cost to maintain quality care... but other places can provide the same care for FAR less. * The service. Has dropped way down. They know my pet very well, and they know she hates travel, but the last time I brought her there they gave me a very hard time about coming for a checkup and getting a dental cleaning the same day "because it's been more than a year". I had to convince them they knew what my cat needed. Then they gave me the same talk this time, and I did not bring her there. * The lack of care. The last time I brought her there, they removed her teeth without calling me to let me know. "Oh, the teeth were receding into the gum." YOU CALL ME FIRST. Period stop. And they trimmed her claws, which they have never done before and I never do because she never uses them. She hurt for weeks from that, wondering where the tips went. Poor soul. I'm going to side with the latest reviews that have been heading downhill. Something has changed here for the very worse. I hope the good doctors and other staff that are left can find better vets to supply their services. For now, maintaining 2 stars only because I believe there is quality somewhere back there... but I'm not testing it anymore.

They refused hypertension treatment, stating that after their "calculations," high BP readings (up to 192 mmHg) were "normal," yet wouldn't explain the calculations despite my requests. This oversight endangered him during a dental procedure by ignoring an undisclosed 192/135 mmHg BP. Common senior issues like vomiting and elevated eosinophils (indicating inflammatory bowel disease), abnormal bloodwork (high creatinine, SDMA 12/15 for stage 2 kidney disease), and lung problems (bronchitis missed on X-rays) were dismissed as normal. Rockaway Animal Hospital, a respected vet, diagnosed all on the first appointment, starting vital treatments. Whippany's repeated dismissals could have been deadly; protect your pets by avoiding them. At his first visit to the respected Rockaway Animal Hospital, Boo Boo was diagnosed with and started treatment for hypertension, inflammatory bowel disease, and kidney disease immediately--conditions Whippany could and should have treated. I am happy to say Boo Boo is doing well today and is in better health than he was under the negligent care of Whippany Vet. Their repeated negligence could have been fatal--steer clear for your pet's safety. I cannot warn against Whippany Veterinary Hospital enough. That said, if you are seeking a quality and caring veterinary practice, I cannot recommend Rockaway Animal Hospital and their excellent veterinary staff enough.

The care provided by Dr. Wellington has always been thorough and professional. Recently, Lily, who was 14 years old, was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease and after Dr. Wellington dianosed and provided medication to keep her comfortable, my wife and I decided to euthanize her. The compassion and professionalism displayed by Dr. Wellington and his staff made a very difficult time much more bearable. We decided to have a private cremation. Lily's ashes arrived in a tasteful light wood box with a name plate and a condolence card signed by Dr. Wellington and his staff. All of this was packaged in a blue velvet drawstring pouch. My wife and I were truly moved by the respect shown for Lily and the recognition that her death was a truly sorrowful and difficult event. Thank you to Dr. Wellington and staff for treating Lily like the valuable and loved member of our family that she was.

Later that day, the vet called me to say the surgery "went well," but then they added the following: "Your dog is very nervous and anxious. He even jumped when a tool dropped on the floor. He was one of the most difficult dogs I've ever neutered. When I used anesthesia to put him under, it didn't work, so I had to use more. That resulted in him 'deciding to stop breathing.' But don't worry, we have procedures in place to help him breathe again. You should have him checked by another doctor or a neurologist. You don't want this nervousness to lead to something like seizures." I was shocked and upset. First of all, blaming our dog for stopping breathing is incredibly unprofessional. Second, why would they overdose him with anesthesia if the first dose didn't take? I asked if he was okay, and they assured me he was but said they wanted to keep him overnight. Third, my husband and I questioned "Why on earth would we worry about him having a seizure? What does that have to do with anything." Four days later, I witnessed my dog have his first seizure at home. It was absolutely traumatizing and unexpected. When my husband called the vet to ask about it, the front desk staff made a shocking statement: "Oh, yeah, that's how he acted during his first seizure." This was news to us. My husband asked for clarification--was she saying he had a seizure at the clinic? She immediately put him on hold, and another staff member took over the call. They refused to confirm or deny what happened but said they were "worried this might happen." We ended up having no choice but to take him to a neurologist. When I asked for notes from the day of the surgery, they were completely illegible. It almost seemed intentional, as if they were trying to hide something. Since that day, our dog has had over 30 seizures. He is a completely different dog ever since - his demeanor, personality, and quality of life have changed drastically. We've had to try countless medications to help him. It's been a devastating journey, and it all started at this vet. I've never regretted something more than us dropping him off there that day. To make matters even worse, we can't find any daycare place that will allow him to be around other dogs because of his seizures. We can't give him tick and flea medicine because it can trigger seizures even more. We can't give him ANY kind of anti-anxiety medications because they interact with his seizure medication, further increasing his seizure risk. The list goes on and on. We can no longer have people over to our house because he gets extremely anxious--something that NEVER happened before this experience. Even going out for a simple dinner is nearly impossible because he can't handle having anyone else walk him. Keep in mind, this is a golden retriever--known for being friendly and easygoing. It costs thousands of dollars for us to go away for even a short trip because he needs to stay at a specialized facility capable of administering his medication and handling his seizures. We've even had to contemplate the unthinkable--rehoming him--because we're expecting a baby. The stress of managing his care is overwhelming, and in the end, who would even want a dog with such high needs? A dog that doesn't like to be around people, requires multiple medications a day, and has ongoing health challenges? I don't know what truly happened during his surgery, but I do know that this clinic failed him. The lack of transparency, the unprofessional handling of his care, and their negligence have forever changed our lives and his.

I pay like $40 a month and theirs was like $150 or more. And it only covers major things. They are clearly getting a kickback on this, of course it was designed by vets. Secondly, have you gotten to the checkout to find out you were charged an exorbitant amount for something you were not told about. They charged us $65 to clean the dogs ears!! Wtf. Our current vet does it for free. 3. They immediately stuck us on prescription dog food that we had to buy from them at over $100 a bag. 4. They never call you with results, it's all on you. Which actually speaks volumes as to whether or not they actually care. Even if something was wrong, you wouldn't find out unless you called. 5. Some of the staff are Just self righteous. They will lecture you about going to breeders, they allude to "having issues" before they even examine the dog. If you are wondering why this is the only vet that isn't booked. This is why. So if you want to pay 30% or more for everything this is the place. We have at least 3 neighbors who have left here as well.

I kinda wanted to go somewhere different than Cameron Animal Hospital even though i had gone there for years and it's so close, and I had received a BondVet mailer, advertising their new place in Montclair, and offering $50 off a first visit. I went online to check out their website and i liked that I was able to set up my appointment, picking a date and time, and even the vet i wanted. I hate talking on the phone so this was a major plus for me. Set the appointment, picked Jeniffer Bedoya for Selina's doc, and was set. I got email and text confirmations i had agreed to beforehand which was also great. I was initially going to walk but it was so cold on my first visit i decided to drive. There is a parking lot on the opposite side of Valley Road to park in for only $1/hour, and if full, there is also a parking garage behind the vet for slightly more. This is great because if you're thinking of parking on Bloomfield Ave, fugedddaboudit. Everyone at BondVet is so welcoming and pleasant, from the desk jockey to the vet's assistant to Doc Bedoya. They lovvvved Selina, and treated her with such care. I got all the results, Selina got some shots, they trimmed her claws at my request, set up her spay, paid and I was on my way. I've had i think 4 visits in all? All great experiences. I always leave feeling happy. And as soon as Selina gets home, she runs to make sure her food is still in the kitchen, lol. Also, BondVet is soooo, clean. I guess that should be expected, but I've been to a lot of vets that smell like 20 dogs are drying out from sweat and rain. *holds back wretch* Anyway, I highly recommend. My family came in on Monday and paid for 5 days worth of medication during my cats visit (also stated specifically on the manufactures label '5-7 days worth.') On Tuesday (the next day) I called and spoke to customer service on a recorded line stating there has been a mistake and not enough medicine was dispensed. I was told that they spoke to the doctor and she gave me enough for 5 days and it just may seem like it's not enough but surely it is.... It's now his 4th day of treatment and there is no medicine left in the bottle so he's missing 4 doses. Now I call and speak directly to the office who states they will dispense 2 days worth and to stop in. I come in on my lunch break and told by the front desk that I have to pay for the medicine. I am completely taken aback. I inform her I called Tuesday about this and now I'm here again and I paid for this medicine already I shouldn't be paying for it again. She comes up with this fake story that not a single doctor or person in this office informed us prior that this second bottle is being dispensed now and not before because they couldn't give me all the medicine in his first visit because the shelf life is short and this is how they dispense it. I'm in the medical field and it is amoxicillin refrigerated its shelf life is not 5 days especially when the label says it's supposed to be 5-7 days distributed..... I inform her again how I called on Tuesday and was told by the Dr I was given 5 days worth and show her how the packaging states there should be 5-7 days in here! I ask to speak to a manager I'm told they're not here right now and at another office. I ask her to call the manager she states she cannot. I am put in a corner and have to pay for this medicine for my cats well being while they scam their customers and try to talk to them like they're idiots.
