We've been going to Montville Veterinary Group for almost 20 years. First with our Chow and next with our Shepherd Mix. The entire Group has been incredibly kind, caring and professional. Dr. Ferrante has been very attentive to our dog's liver problem and we've been able to nurse her with the right meds for quite some time now. I have been taking my dog to Montville Vet for a long time and never had issues. I thought the vets were great. This year my dog needed to be seen for an illness and a torn ear. Both times I was told they had no appointments until the following week or later They did manage to squeeze him in for his ear but not yesterday when he was sick. The response is take him to an emergency vet. I didn't think my dogs issue was in need of an emergency vet. Additionally the distance is not convenient. I called another vet who could see him the next day. I then called Montville back and requested records be sent to the new vet. Not once did I receive an apology or even What can we do to Make it right. Nothing!!!! What happened to this practice. I truly feel they don't care about your beloved per. read more

I live in Florida, however spend from June until October in Montville. I have a 6 pound chihuahua. She recently had some issues in June while still in Florida.I called the office today as I needed to update shots before I went home. I was going to Rockaway Animal clinic But looking to find care closer. I also wanted records transferred. Before I was able to give info, the receptionist cut me off and said she had no appointments until the end of October. I had also wanted an exam and issues addressed. A month? Please. You lost a client because of very poor communication skills. I really never write reviews but felt inclined. I chose to csll your office because of your vets affiliation with OradeI have been there on numerous occasions. I worked for a vet for years, and the health department in Randolph. I guess your receptionist thought vaccines were not worth booking an appointment for in a timely fashion. You lost a potential client. read more

Used to be great, then growth and Covid happened. Did not mind the overpriced fees, but friendliness and service has gone to pot. Have two senior dogs that are on their way out. Med refills take days, appointments weeks and now sitting in the parking lot for 50 minutes just to get dog seen. Suffice to say if we do get family pets in the future I will be shopping for a new vet. read more

Great patient relationships there . They said they were going to use a towel. As a curtain bc the dog won't see what's happening. Does that work with smart dogs? The silliest thing. Or maybe when they were too afraid to put muzzle on? Didn't try once. And asked if I would do it. Had my finger stuck I. Prong and wouldn't even help bc they were so scared. Blatant disregard. No sir. U didn't get that. Where I come from the vet and techs take the dog in the back and get the job done. Deliver service. That is your job. 30 years experience. U didn't even look at dog. Oh and the dosing.... U messed that up. Take customer feedback.... Geez. So sensitive. Yes will we be much happier with a vet that helps all animals. Not just the sweet and cute ones. read more

I have frequented many veterinary practices and are familiar with their various pricing levels. When you spend $25 for an injection by a technician. I spend $25 for each visit. Are you ready for this? You better sit down. This place charges about $100 for the same shot! From $25 to $100, that is some difference! Why? Same medication, same dosage so again, why? I can't speak for the vets and how efficient that are, only their pricing. So be forewarned prior to a visit! read more

My mom recently needed to find a veterinary office open because her cat, with advanced kidney disease, took a turn for the worse and her regular vet's office was closed. We thankfully found Montville Veterinary Group and they were able to take us right away. Dr. B was amazing. He was very kind and compassionate. He spent time with us to assess our precious Zoey's condition and assured us that we did all that we could for her. As much as it pained us, we knew that it was time to let her go. The whole staff made us feel comfortable and showed us so much compassion on such a sad day. The paw prints that they made of our beloved Zoey are giving my mom great comfort during this difficult time. We can't thank Dr. B and the entire staff enough for everything they did for us. read more

After our long time veterinarian retired, we were recommended to this practice, specifically Dr Soergel. We've only been here a few times and I met him once before the pandemic before they instituted curbside drop off visits. Based on today's experience, I wonder what happened while my dog was in the facility without me. This time was my dog's yearly exam, and we are allowed back into the facility. We were escorted into the exam room, and a young tech asked me routine questions regarding my dog, said the doc would be in, in a minute, and left. She came back with another young tech. She said they needed to draw some labs. I said okay. They had my dog on the floor, and after spraying her leg with alcohol, and trying to find the vein, the tech announced my dog had a lot of hair. My dog was recently groomed and my first thought was the tech didn't know what she was doing. She inserted the needle in and out of her leg a couple times. Being unsuccessful, she walked out to get another young tech. Now, there are 3 of them, holding my 40 lb. dog down, and trying to draw the labs. This tech was trying to get the vein on the OTHER leg, and also having trouble, inserting the needle in and out of my dog's leg a couple times. My dog was getting upset, as was I, and I asked if the doctor could do the draw. They looked at each other, one of them said, "well, we do this more then he does, so I don't know", and they left. I didn't think it was a big deal. My former vet always drew the labs himself. The doctor came in, said the same thing, "these girls do this all the time, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it". He was able to do the draw right away, uneventfully. He examined my dog and lectured me about tick prevention. He recommended treatment with pills, but didn't ask or listen to MY concerns regarding their use. After the tech left, I said to him, I didn't mean any disrespect, but being the dog owner, on the other side, it is disconcerting to see the butterfly passed around and your dog repeatedly jabbed. Instead of apologizing, he said, 'well you know, it's all in the delivery". WHAT?! After a few back and forths, he again said it was the way I said it. I apologized to him, if they took what I said as offensive. I am not a confrontational person. I asked, how was I supposed to say it? I don't care if it's your pet, or family member that you see treated this way, you need to be their advocate. Our visit ended when I told him this isn't working out, to give me my records, and I'll be on my way. The girls at the desk were very understanding, but I told them I would like my records. I won't be back. I have had several dogs over many years. I have never had anyone talk to me so condescendingly or treat me so unprofessionally. Apparently, these techs are very sensitive. I appreciate the vet backing his staff, but Dr. Soergel wasn't in the room, and doesn't know what transpired. Sometimes things don't go as expected and you need to get some help, no one should be offended. The goal should be, while executing your duties, to treat the pet respectfully, and their owner as to have a pleasant experience. It shouldn't have been a big deal that I suggested they get the doctor. However, during the visit, the vet's continuance of unprofessionalism with me during our conversation is unacceptable, and he owes me an apology. His concern should have been less about HOW I requested they get the vet, but more for my dog since they punctured her many times without success. I wonder, if you are treated that way in person, how is your pet treated when you're not there to advocate. In my opinion, he has lost the practice's objective. I would suggest he reorient himself with the practice's goals stated on their webpage and my advice is to STAY AWAY from this practice, especially this vet. read more

My dog and I love it here. They go out of their way to make my dog comfortable and relaxed, and he always leaves happy and well taken care of after every visit. The vets and staff are very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and I feel the prices are reasonable. They explain procedures and treatments, offer options, and don't shame. You don't need to take our word for it tho -- just bring your pet and see how your pet responds to being so gently and well cared for. I have tried our other local vets and the difference is night and day. I feel fortunate and appreciative to take my animal here and highly recommend any of the vets in this practice. read more

Before, during and after covid they've always been helpful and professional and have taken well care of our pup. She's had minor and now major illnesses and they've always showed us kindness and compassion while guiding us on making the best decisions for her. I first visited Montville Veterinary Group at the recommendation of a friend, and I'm so glad I did. The facilities are clean and fresh (they even had a nice smelling candle lit during my last visit), and the location couldn't be more convenient for me. Dr. Badalamenti is absolutely amazing, and I wouldn't trust any other vet to care for my fur baby. He obviously loves cats, and it seems like my cat felt comfortable with him from the very beginning. He is gentle, kind, and goes out of his way to keep you informed and educated as a pet owner. His assistant is so, so nice, and she also has a natural way about her with cats. My littler Mister was head butting her and demanding to be pet within minutes of meeting her. I have since referred my father (who had nothing but rave reviews about Dr. B), and would recommend him many more times to anyone in search of quality care for their beloved pet. 5 stars and two paws up for Dr. Badalamenti and Montville Veterinary Group. read more

Can't say enough good things about this practice. We have been coming here since they opened. Most recently Dr. Badalamenti saved our cat Charlie. I came home to find him blind and confused/disoriented on Monday. Charlie had vomited up all his food and got into trouble when his long-acting insulin kicked in. Dr. B sat with Charlie until 11pm Monday night because he couldn't get Charlie's blood sugar to stay above 30 (despite IV glucose and feeding him every 15 minutes) until the long acting insulin wore off. Seems Charlie's diabetes has reversed and he is no longer in need of insulin at all! Dr. B also took care of our giant breed dog Buster when he lived with us and did a wonderful job supporting us when it was time to euthanize him. This practice also has a practical approach to spending. Unlike other vets that try to drive up the bill any way they can; Dr. B will work with you to prioritize expenditures and determine what is necessary or not to stay within your budget. Best vet in the area, hands down. read more

Everyone in this practice, from the front desk to the techs to the doctors themselves, are welcoming, helpful and compassionate. They are accommodating for emergencies, explain what they are doing and why. And they never make you feel guilty about asking questions. Our dog passed away while under the care of Montville Veterinary Group. The poor rating doesn't reflect the death but the utter lack of compassion by certain employees. After a visit to the Montville Veterinary Group, our dog took a turn for the worse. The Vet's suspicion was that the symptoms may be bacterial so this created a lot of anxiety as antibiotics may help. My wife called three times and was told by A at the front desk that no one had time, no one would call back (too busy), no one would call if lab results came in and to go elsewhere. Early the next day, our dog died a very painful death. It left my children, me and my wife distraught and traumatized. Day after, the Vet finally called, oblivious to what has transpired and asking if our dog was feeling better post our visit and whether we could bring her in for more tests. I do not blame the Vet that last saw our dog. She tried. Others, and it wasn't just A, shouldn't work with other humans or animals. It is a shame that a place where we and others trusted left this last impression on us. I'm glad that our gentle animal touched many more hearts in years she was with us. read more

After my former veterinarian was allegedly arrested en route to our appointment (What?? Yes!!,) I was desperate to find a new place and doctor for my pet. My neighbor referred me to this group and I cannot say enough nice things. Clean, brand new, terrific customer service and great techs and doctors. Please go here. I did not come in as an emergency. I made an appointment and left there before office hours were over... So that statement is not true. There was a patient with her dog who came in after me. I was only charged for emergency.( Unless last minute they changed their hours.) ????? And further more to say that I complained about prices...I don't think so not when I spent $10000.00 on my dogs cancer treatments Really now. What I complained about was being BULLIED into getting an injection with 2weeks worth of medicine in it without a choice. .I would have chose the 2 weeks of pills...versus a TWO WEEK injection. My dog reacted to the injection... Also I have no idea who Anastasia is????? read more

Montville Veterinary Group is great all around. Everyone is super friendly and caring, which is really nice. I love seeing Anastasia. She truly cares about my pets and never pushes anything that she doesn't find absolutely necessary. The facility is updated, absolutely beautiful and immaculate! I'm always so impressed at their cleanliness every time I go in. I trust them 110% to care for my dogs. I've tried other vets to try and save some money (yes, Montville Vet is quite pricey), but they just don't compare. You get what you pay for! read more

This vet is the best. We moved from Manhattan where there were plenty of vets to choose from, so it was a bit daunting trying to find a good one with good reviews. Luckily, we tried this one and did not regret it. Dr. Badalamenti is awesome and so knowledgeable. He explains everything and all options to you before proceeding. Montville Veterinary Group is the best practice around. I recommend them as much as I can to those looking for veterinary care. I live 30-40 minutes away and drive the extra distance because it is absolutely worth it. Dr. B is the best vet I have ever met. He has cared for several of my cats, including my dearest kitty with kidney disease. Every time I meet with Dr. B, he takes his time to examine, he thoroughly explains his medical diagnosis (I have learned so much!), shows compassion during the process, and follows up as needed. He did a wonderful job with eye surgery on my senior kitty as well. Zero complications and executed like a plastic surgeon. His staff is compassionate and professional, a pleasure to meet with and speak with by phone. Other doctors in the practice are great too. I have somewhat limited experience because Dr. B is my regular doctor, however, Dr. Dondzil has also been a great help to me. I cannot say enough about this group. If you are a pet owner and need a vet to trust, this is the one. I say this wholeheartedly. read more

Very Disappointed, Having to put your dog to sleep is one of the hardest things to do. I have 2 labs mother and daughter. Sadly, it was time for the mother at 15.5 years to be laid to rest. I booked it a month in advance. The week prior I called to make sure were ready and that everything was in order. They just didn't care and said yes. I arrived knowing how hard this event would be having been a pet owner of many, and putting down 3 of my 4 dogs. It is devastating, its a family member. They lost the paper work for everything --- the cremation, the urn picked out everything. They could have called and I would have moved it to the next day to be organized instead of letting me hold down my dog while they walked in and out of he room 5 times. They didn't send in an assistant to help me in the confusion. My poor dog was more and more upset as was I. I have called the owner and left a message and still have not heard back from him. I guess is all about the money not the pet read more
