Very professionally run. We bring our dog our annual east coast vacation and PAP is our go to day care spot in Livingston area. My puppy loves Pups@Play, and so do I. They are attentive, trustworthy, and clearly love their furry customers. I am very comfortable using Pups for boarding as well, I know he will be taken well taken care of. Making an appointment is easy on the website, and there is no prepay. Just a courtesy notice if you have to cancel, more time is needed for holiday weekends, which makes sense. They do a good job with baths as well! I moved out of Livingston but I will still use Pups@Play on weekends, holidays and for boarding :) read more

Took my dog out of pups at play. There are only two employees that I like heather and Samantha sometimes. There are some newer people that I don't have an opinion on because I haven't met them. I believe Carmen is alone in the morning during drop offs which means no one is watching the rooms if she's checking people in. Some folks seem cranky I don't want to point out names. I don't see a genuine love for dogs other than heather and Samantha tbh. However when the owner tells you they are going to kill your dog on two separate occasions for eating their mural that guess who paid for. Imagine if I told her I'm gonna kill one of her dogs! Why would anyone who has dogs say that to someone else. It's common sense! You don't tell a dog owner your going to kill their dog! You know it's time to leave. Also I think they are understaffed and too many dogs in a small space. My dog is barely in the posts anymore. You have to pay for an appearance most of the time. One kid Brandon I was watching him struggle with putting a harness he didn't know how it goes on smh! Response to Lori: one two separate occasions you told me you would kill my dog. TWICE!!! It's apparent you didn't want him there and anyone who goes there think about it if you don't cell phones around the dogs but you opened a second location you can easily install video cameras for customers to view. Half the time the pups in one room are alone. Which is NOT okay. Like I said I have nothing against the employees but you saying you are going to kill my dog twice was my last straw!!! read more

Took my small Havanese there (Montclair location) today for what they call a "Temperament Test". They threw my puppy into a room with about 30 dogs and didn't even look up. Two young girls were in the room chatting away until another dog attacked my dog. Then they just swatted the other dog away and continued the conversation. My dog was terrified. There was no "Temperament Test"~not even an acknowledgement that my puppy was there. Needless to say I took her home. read more

So I've been having my dog groomed here for about 5 years. Melody does an excellent job and loves her job. I now have 2 dogs to be groomed and even as an existing customer I can't get an appointment that's less than 2 months out. When I told the girl making the appointment that was unacceptable and I would have to go somewhere else, she could care less. I have left messages for Melody to call me but I don't think she gets them. So now Pups@play loses 2 customers. I just don't get it. Niether do they. Review is specifically for the vet clinic. I have never used the boarding or grooming services here. I have been taking my 2 dogs here to see Dr Wiener and his staff for the past year when we moved to the area. We originally met Dr.Wiener at another vet clinic and followed him to pups at play in Livingston. He is BY FAR the most caring and knowledgeable vet I've used in the past 20 years of being a dog owner. He genuinely cares for the animals and always answers any questions. Accommodating beyond any other Dr I've met, He is literally a god send since my Brussels griffon was recently diagnosed with diabetes and Cushing disease. He worked with me to get a treatment plan in place which wasn't an easy task because his blood sugar wouldn't stabilize and he always checked in. My other dog who is an 11 year old toy Yorkie has a handful of existing health issues and Dr.Wiener has been great with him also. His staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable.
