    Carne frita

This restaurant is a landmark in the town of Carolina. They have the best combinations of Chinese Rice and all the favorites. But their tostones and carne frita are the best. The amount of food they serve is insane but it is all worth it. They are really quick and staff is friendly. The place is very simple with tables to eat your order that is prepared to go, no table service thou. The place does get very crowded because of the hype of this amazing food.

My vacation to Puerto Rico could not end without eating some delicious Puerto Rican Chinese food. Vibe super happy. OMG! amazing representation of Puerto Rican Chinese food, I waited a long time for this.... LOL. I must say the fried plantains with garlic were to die for, the fried rice, fries, and carne ahumada bring you back to life... in all super delicious cannot find anything like this where I live so it was super exciting being able to enjoy these plates. Cant wait to be back to the island just for the food...LOL.

    Tostones al ajillo

Got the boneless ribs with fried rice and tostones al ajillo. It was good, but the tostones were so small and not much garlic. Not like I remember at the old hangouts that closed after Hurricane Maria. All those places had huge tostones with tons of garlic.

I can't go to PR w/o getting Puerto Rican Chinese food, so I stopped by Sol Oriental. The parking lot was a little chaotic b/c of the drive-thru,walk-in traffic,& how popular it is, but that just made it feel more legit. I ordered the 2 piece fried chicken w/ fried rice, & that rice was so good(flavorful, fresh,& cooked just right). It also came with a small portion of fries on top of the rice which was a nice touch.btw that's actually the way the meal always comes.I also got the plain mofongo,& it was hitting. The portions were so huge I couldn't even finish it & ended up sharing w/ everyone and there was still some left over. The mofongo was rich, creamy,& scrumptious w/ a hint of garlic. The fried chicken was crispy, juicy,& flavorful. The only downside was that the garlic sauce (mojito) for the mofongo was forgotten, which I was a little disappointed about b/c it would've taken it to the next level. Thank goodness it already had a hint of garlic in it.They actually almost forgot the mofongo itself too.Still, the guy who took out to go order was very friendly & chatted in w/ us while we waited for the food, which made the wait more enjoyable. He said we're going to love the food! Def a solid spot!I'd go back again w/o thinking twice!Don't tempt me w/ a good time!

It's the best of both worlds and has become a beloved part of the island's food culture. On this visit, I tried the fried carnitas, fried chicken with fried rice, garlic tostones, and French fries. I enjoyed every part of the meal. Everything tasted fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The garlic tostones were loaded with garlic, which I absolutely loved. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly...crispy and crunchy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. Even the fried rice stood out as being especially tasty. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean with plenty of seating available. If you're looking for Chinese food with a PR twist while visiting the island, I would definitely recommend stopping by Sol Oriental.
