A warm and inviting space, the book curation is spectacular. It has calming properties that help people be more social similar to alcohol but without the negative effects. It does taste pretty bitter and it has a numbing sensation (similar to sichuan peppercorns) so their flavored options are recommended for first-timers. The apple cider version was pretty good. I did feel the effect, but did I love it? Honestly, not sure. It felt a bit weird. But even if I decide not to try kava again, their tea was also really good and the owner is a super nice and interesting guy. People who come here are looking for something different, so give it a shot! The inside definitely looks like it used to be an elk's lounge or something. But overall, it's a chill and relaxed space with good vibes.

The flavors paired really well...I wish this was a combination I could get more places. There's plenty of parking, and they have a small waterfall out in the back of the property where you can enjoy your drink. Service was quick and friendly, and they even let us try out a new mocha-cino drink they were testing out and training on. They also have a small selection of pastries on offer. We got a standard brewed coffee and iced mocha (half sweet). Both were excellent with no hints of bitterness. The iced mocha was one of the best I've ever had. The mocha-cino drink (cappuccino with a bit of mocha syrup) we got to try out was good too. They use farm fresh milk from Hoffman's Sunset View Creamery in their drink preparations. All in all, it was the perfect coffee shop experience with the added bonus of a waterfall out back, so I recommend a visit to Overlook Coffee should you find yourself in the Watkins Glen area. It's only minutes away from Hector Falls which is also worth a visit.

I visit every so often when I'm in town simply because of how cute it is. I was happy to see they sell some local products, like a hot sauce I previously found at the Ithaca Farmer's Market. Their book selection is also charming - I spotted a bathroom check-in book for guests to fill out, which I thought was such a fun idea. If you're visiting Ithaca and looking for local or homemade goods, Sunny Days is definitely the place to check out! :)
