I can only imagine the selection at the beginning of the sale and how much stock was probably available. Even so, the selection today was remarkable. You certainly get a flavor for what all the college professors are requiring lit majors to buy by the mass quantities of certain titles. Anyhow, this sale has all kinds of books that are organized by topic and then by author. Really well run and the staff is friendly and efficient. Cash, check or card accepted. Today they marked down the prices; the most expensive book was 50 cents. The deals are wild! Masks and social distancing are enforced. There was a line outside when I arrived (5:15pm) and I waited for about 20-25 minutes to get in. It seemed to be a slower time and I'm not sure what the wait would be if it was a peak hour. If you pay $100 to become a "friend" you can have early accsss. It was well worth my time and I'm happy to support this organization!

Looking for an item you can't find?…read more This is the brand new location (used to be big lots) of Cayuga reUse center. The store itself is a non-profit where you can often find something that you might need for your household that still has charm or some shelf life left. The space is now much larger than the old store was and can accommodate many more items. Donations I understand are appreciated but have to be left at the downtown location. I think it's great that all of these things don't go straight into the landfill and that they have another chance to be useful. The stores sales aisles have well organized categories so it's easy to find what you're looking for or just take a quick look around. The staff were friendly and the bathrooms are clean. There is plenty of available parking. In retrospect, I did feel that maybe the prices of some items may be more costly than at the old location? Not sure. I do hope that they will do more advertising to let the community know that they have moved and that they will spend a bit of time putting together a good window display to help attract visitors. Unlike what other reviews say, I've never found the owner or other employees to be unapproachable, I often find myself sticking around after I've already picked up what I was looking for to chat with them about recent events, movies, various current series. I don't know how they are with kids, but I've seen children with their parents in the store and haven't seen a problem. They're also active in local events, helping with IthaCon and telling patrons about other small conventions in the area. I've never had the owner sell something out of my pull list, like another reviewer states. Often, the owner will try to pull things you might have forgotten to mention to them based on other books you're pulling. Only once or twice have I had a problem with pulls, and it's generally because I ended up having a large number of books pulled for me that week and they missed a single issue. As one of the only comic shops for miles, I'm extremely thankful they're here and really enjoy my visits each week.
