I have been an ADT customer for 5 years now and their services had always been impeccable until last year. I can't wait until my contract is up with them. Their quality of service has plummeted. From messing up my account and over charging me multiple times to having a service that doesn't work to having a representative not know how to get my equipment up and running to them trying to make me pay to get them to fix my equipment, I have had it with this company. I am literally paying for a service that doesn't operate at all because I'm stuck in a contract. Unbelievable. I have stopped any and everyone I care about from starting services with them. I had a bad battery in a smoke detector and I wanted to save some money so I found a replacement online and it did not work right. Everything I was told prior to the technician coming out was a blatant lie. The representative told me I would pay no installation or equipment charges, and I could expect a 27.99/month fee. The technician told me to fully protect my home I would need to pay $9,000 over a payment plan. We ended up downgrading the service and I was told I would pay a little over $100. The next day I see a charge of $206 on my account. I called and spoke with a representative who told me if I wanted a refund I would need to return all equipment and cancel services. The day after I received another charge for $100. They claim they needed to charge me for the current month and the next month. I was never made aware of any charges, and now I was informed that they do not even offer a 27.99/month service according to the tech who came out. He said every house he goes to, people think they are going to pay 27.99 but that isn't even a choice. He said the people over ADT's advertising just lie to get a tech in the customer's home. So my monthly payment is actually going to be over 52.99/ month. I was also told we would get a new touch screen panel, but the tech told me they do not have any currently and someone would contact us in a few months when they come. Overall disappointed and not sure if we will continue business or just return equipment before the 3 day deadline. read more

I've had my system installed four years ago. Up until one month ago it seemed to be working but then came the "beeps". I could not identify where it was coming from so I replaced every one of the batteries. Just this morning the "beeps" came again. I took them all down one at a time with never finding the problem. So I called this company and was on hold for 8 minutes before I could talk to someone who transferred me to another person and I waited for an additional 11 minutes before I talked to a person. I'm a 100% disabled Viet Nam vet and my wife is a stroke survivor who is in bed 75% of the time. With just me and her I rely on this system to monitor and call for help if I am not at home. All in all this company had me on the phone continually for 26 minutes. They told me it would be late Wednesday before someone could come out! This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had to deal with. Please don't use ADT or you will be sorry!!! read more

If there was a No Stars then ADT would get it! Took two years to cancel account. Haven't had service that entire period and was charged for it every month. I was given $100 credit once by a CSR that thought that's what would satisfy my pocket book! I finally found the ADT office here on Tulsa and they directed me to the correct division to contact. They gave me an email address and phone number to call. Did a directed with email with no results. Phone call worked. But a week later I get two pieces of mail from ADT. One was a $84 bill and a letter wanting me to call Customer Service and explain why in the world I cancelled my account with ADT! I just hung up with the nicest little lady there who is moving this up to the Corporate Office. Will I get my money back? I doubt it because I stopped paying them after finding out I didn't have service two years ago. TNT is the way to go ! read more

I called to inquire ONLY about service and pricing. During the call operator #19426 stated they would be running credit. I was EXTREMELY clear that I did not wish or grant permission for a hard credit hit. She didn't even take my entire SSN, yet within a few minutes of the call, I received notification from Equifax that a hard hit was conducted. IMMEDITATE RESPONSE REQUIRED I just received a mailing from ADT with IMMEDITATE RESPONSE REQUIRED on the front of the envelope. Being a long-time customer, I opened it because I thought there was something that I needed to do to maintain my account. WRONG!! It was a solicitation. So, since I am required to respond, here it is; What makes a company feel that they can demand that I respond to a solicitation? People are busy and make split-second decisions about whether they will open up a mailing or not. If mailed a solicitation and a request to respond, then they can make an informed decision, but to demand a response is over the line. The boneheaded numskull of a Marketing Manager that dreamed up this approach needs to get their butt kicked. To an existing customer, ADT already has their business. Send a solicitation that encourages a change. The offer in the mailer needs to be better than what they already have, which it wasn't in my case. And to a potential customer, why would they want to do business with a business that demands action. ADT is a business. They are not in any position to demand anything from anyone. read more
