We just moved into a brand-new house and there was a leak underneath the slab. We were very…read moreconcerned that it was going to be a very large expense. Winston Wells came out the same day I called FREE OF CHARGE to assess where the water was coming from and develop a plan. They came back the next day and the plumber worked tirelessly to find and repair the leak. He had to cut down bushes and dig into the yard to get to it, but he found it and fixed it. He was so nice and ensured I knew exactly what he was doing. A less professional person honestly would've given up and charged to put a whole new line in from the meter into the house. But when he was done, he put everything back in place, vacuumed the water, took the debris (including the bush), and tested the water pressure and internal plumbing (toilets, etc). When I got the bill, I was SHOCKED... It was super reasonable!! I really am so impressed. This was a bad circumstance that, because of Tony (the plumber that did the work), ended up being much less stressful. THANK YOU!!

He was very professional and finished the job in just over an hour. We couldn't be happier with the work performed. My mom had been ripped off in the past by other plumbers who took advantage of her age and hearing impairment. It's really good to know there are still good reputable plumbing contractors out there. I highly recommend Winston Wells Plumbing.

Incompetent Den of Thieves. They charged $750 to clear a drain that clogged the very next day and…read morerefused to return without an additional exorbitant charge. This is their "business model": try to charge over $1000 to snake a drain (we "negotiated" down to $750), then video the results and use it to pitch a $5000 dollar excavation job (that would destroy shrubs, not replace them, dig a trench, swap out a segment of pipe), even if all of that is not necessary to solve the problem. Take a look at the picture in this review, captured from their own video. They left the jobsite having cleared barely 1" inch (if that) of the 4" diameter pipe. That tiny black hole in the center is what they cleared, and all that junk above are roots that encroached into the pipe. Justin Connor, the technician, used a spade head to clear the tiny area but instead of changing the snake head to use a sawtooth root-cutter and clear more of the pipe following the video, he simply used the video to pitch the $5,000 job described above. When we talked to Justin's boss, somebody named Herman (last name not disclosed), they were completely dismissive, emphasizing they have no warranty; not one, single day. Avoid these guys like the plague. They are dishonest, incompetent thieves. The company appears to be owned by somebody named Tom Miller (ref: Georgia Sec. of State). ------------------------------------------- Update in response to owner Miller: "Once you have roots we stop"? Wouldn't it be ethical to inform customers of this practice before you take their money? "No ones [sic] sewer is worth a finger". What does that mean? These drains are not cleared by hand. Electrical snakes, their attachments and hydro-jetting are used. "There are a ton of things that we could use to remove the roots but in this case it wouldn't be cost effective." For whom? For YOU because it wouldn't enable you to take even MORE money from customers? "faking outage [sic]"? Nothing fake about it, Mr. Miller. How would you feel if a (presumed) professional took $750 out of your pocket and his "solution" failed the next day? "Hope someone else is able to service you." Someone else WAS able to do the job - clearing the tube completely -- with no excavation or pipe replacement. I think you make my argument for me. Thank you.

I had seen a billboard advertisement and called united installers plumbing to fix a leak in the…read moreceiling. They very quick to send two plumbers promptly. They sent two plumbers and one called himself a senior...they both looked at the leak and said that it was completely dry and they couldn't find a leak...becoz the upstairs bathroom sits right above where the leak was he said it could have been due to water running down the shower to the floor and since no one was using the upstairs shower anymore the problem must have fixed itself...and i need to caulk the sides of the tub to ensure there was no leak in the future... He never cut open the ceiling where the leak was and pls note it was not a small one and was still looking wet when they came and went but it was so high up that I couldn't just touch it and see....the company charged me 200 USD for the visit and the problem apparently didn't exist.,...in all this my mistake was that I didn't climb up the ladder to investigate while they were still there. Later in the week I asked my husband to climb up the ladder and look/feel the leak one more time before i called someone to patch up the ceiling ( there was a small whole the size of a baby's palm from all the prodding) and Lo and behold, it was still wet...there was no way a seasoned plumber could have missed that....I was so frustrated. The senior plumber, while he was there, all the while kept discussing his parallel business as a contractor and why I should hire him to renovate the bathroom. After a couple of days I called another plumber to fix a gas line and also showed him the leak he immediately diagnosed the problem as a pin hole leak( it was extremely extremely small ) and charged me 275 to fix it. I logged a complaint with Laura of United Installers plumbing that their Technician's very not professional( for trying to upsell me bathroom reno) and lousy at what they did....she promised I will get my money back but she never sent me the check after repeated follow ups. Every time there was some excuse or the other.. I would request all future customers to be vary of the quality of technicians they send. Pls don't waste your money on these good for nothing plumbers. I have already let me neighbors and friends know not hire them and I'll be sure to log a complaint with BBB as well. Thanks Katy

I was priced not on the job but for the appearance and size of my house. Should not be charged for smoke breaks during service - being charged $665 to cut, replace a metal pipe is ridiculous. They also had to empty the water heater but didn't have a water hose and had to use mine along with my buckets Wasted time making the correct decision and possibly took advice from owner who has no experience with plumbing - Suggest to everyone to get a second opinion and not use this company for small jobs
