That's $1183 total, before any work was actually done to resolve the clog (because it would involve going under slab). I found out after getting estimates from 5 other local plumbers that they do not charge for line location; that it's seen as standard and part of the job--you don't cut through slab without making sure where the lines are. I'm not sure if the plumber was aware of this but I wrote an email to explain what I found and asked for a credit. I am following up on the email and will leave this here because currently this reflects my sadness and disappointment at what happened. To be fair--Britt responded quickly to the call, and was very good about following up--and he did a reasonable quote for the slab work/replacement portion. However I just couldn't figure out why he would charge me so much for locating the line if that's something other plumbers are not charging extra for, especially such a high amount. As a new homeowner I didn't know and I was overcome with panic so I just paid it. I will update this review if they refund me.

Hampton Restoration comes out and attempts to file a fraudulent claim with my homeowners insurance for $20,000. Turns out I didn't have a plumbing problem. My carpet was wet because I had a hole in my roof. Atlanta plumbing lied because they were in on the fraud attempt. The fraud didn't work. I got my roof fixed and the carpet is now dry.

The installation was clearly flawed, I called them and they acted like I was crazy and insisted there was no leak, I have the gas bill to prove it. Ended up having to call fire department a month later. I would think twice about using this company. If you read the reviews they have a horrible track record with water heater installation, do yourself a favor and go with another company, because even my attempt to talk to the owners went nowhere. When they identify another costly issue which may cause problems down the line, such as a partial failure in a septic field, they don't turn the appointment into an aggressive sales job, rather just offering an honest assessment of where things currently stand and the problems which could arise without action. They may not advertise on every billboard and sports field in the community like some of their competitors but, to me, relying on word of mouth for business is something only a company confident in their product or service can pull off. I highly recommend Skyline.

I received a call from the technician, on-site, to find out they were going to charge me another $400 to dig up the tank. Keep in mind the original quote was for $325. They ended up charging $450 more to dig up the lid. They were using a mini-excavator so the work was simple and there should have been a minimal up-charge, at best. The technician was very nice and easy to deal with, but the company policy for pricing that type of work is ridiculous. We've used Skyline a good bit in the past, even for drain field lines on another property but will NOT use them again. They have been bought out by a larger company and don't have reasonable prices any more. I felt over a barrel and taken advantage of to do the work. The company that bought Skyline has also bought Hamby's Septic, another once very good septic company. Buyer beware!

David thoroughly explained the work needed and addressed all of my million questions and concerns with such patience. He ensured the work area was clean once he was finished. Pricing was comparable for the quality of work received. The one area I would call out is contacting a call center to schedule versus an online option but the phone call does guarantee the appointment.
