I was reached out by one of the agents named Toan. He introduced me to this admin assistant job at a start-up company and proceed to arrange a phone interview for me on the following Friday. However, the person from the company never called. I spent the whole day waiting but nothing happened. I called Toan asking about it and he told me the person who was supposed to interview me was in a meeting so she couldn't make it and she would call me on Monday instead. So I waited and waited on Monday but still no calls. I emailed Toan multiple times asking about what has happened but he never replied. I found out later that the person who was supposed to interview me has been to my LinkedIn page, which meant the arrangement was there but it somehow went wrong. I was so confused and wondered what had actually gone wrong in the process. I wouldn't post this review if I was given a proper explanation to the whole thing instead of being left hanging. I would totally understand if the company chose to pursuit other candidates instead of me. On top of that, when Toan and I met, he told me that if this opportunity didn't work out he would keep working with me and introduce me to other job opportunities. It seems all his promises were just empty. He disappeared completely after the incident and hasn't contacted me since. The experience makes me feel that Proven is NOT trust worthy at all. read more

I recently moved to the San Diego area and have been working with Jeff B. at Proven for the past few months. I've done contracting before and have dealt with many recruiters over the past few years, so I know the process very well. The people at Proven are professional, efficient, and do a great job finding positions you're actually interested in (rather than throwing jobs at you just so they can submit as many candidates as possible). They provide you with all the tools you need to be successful and always follow up with you to get your feedback and listen to your concerns. A position hasn't worked out for me quite yet, but that's just because I didn't have a great interview, so totally independent of Proven and their abilities. You can't really blame the recruiter if your interview is rescheduled or the person canceled, since they don't have control over that. They'll facilitate the interview as best they can and then you really have to take it from there. I'm giving this place 5 stars because every interaction I've had with them has been exactly what I would want as a job-seeker and that's all I can ask for. I was pretty excited to work with Proven based off of the many great reviews. I reached out explaining my project (relocating to San Diego from Maryland) and to request a quote. I was asked to send along my resume so I did. I heard nothing over the next two weeks so I followed up. I was excited to see an email, although again my resume was requested. I sent it over again. That was October 31st and I have never heard back. The job hunt is hard enough, let alone to do while relocating, which is why I thought it best to work with a recruiting agency in the first place. I am disappointed in this experience. I understand it is a busy time of year all around and sometimes things just get missed. read more

I was looking to leave my previous job and find another role within public accounting. The first girl that I worked with at Proven seemed to know nothing about public accounting, or accounting in general, and asked me a lot of obvious questions like what a "review comment" was. I'm not sure if she was new or just had no idea what she was doing. When she called my references, she actually tried to recruit one of them. This firm clearly doesn't understand the sacredness of one's references. I was finally linked with a guy who was just trying to place me as soon as possible, and got me an offer with a firm that I didn't want, but kept pushing me. I declined it and took a job through a different recruiting company. He has since called my old employer, asking to replace my old position, stating that he had placed me out of it. Even if he had placed me, why would he tell my old employer that? That's definitely not the way to get an "in" with them. These people clearly have no idea what they are doing and they are ruining reputations in the process. All of these five star reviews have obviously been written by friends of the company.
