i've been a customer of the provident bank and its predicessors for 65 years. i recently received a…read moreletter canceling my checking acct. when i contacted the branch to find out why my acct was being closed, i was told by a 3 month employee, crystal that the reason was i was a fraud risk???? i asked if it was due to my age 77! she said it was not due to my age. i could not find any reason i would be a fraud risk??? i watch my acct daily and use my heloc acct to cover any pending charges. this should be an instantanious transfer of funds but i'm not allowed to transfer directly???? but need pre-deposit in my citiizens checking acct., citizens holds transfer 5 days on their end but prov holds my funds for 5 days. which causes a late payment, both banks blame each other but the problem never gets resolved. i have paid $100s in late fees, which all should be reversed, as a result, if this constitutes bank fraud because of bank system issues or policies i do not understand that this is fraud on my part??? now i have to set up auto pay, direct deposites etc with a new bank which is not easy for a senior! i was insulted to be called a fraud risk after being a customer for 65 years!

I just went to cash a personal check made out to myself from my elderly Mom ( it's her account of…read moreover 30 yrs) they tried to charge me $5! Can you imagine these poor elderly people in essence paying an extra $5 to send someone to their bank because they're unable to drive! It's her money!! Take into consideration that elderly depend on others to do some banking and need their cash on hand. Disgusting Bankprov!
