This is an updated review on Mark Meehan from 8/2021. First, I should clarify that I previously rated Mark a "4 star" only because a 5-star review should be as rarefied as a Siberian tiger. However, in the grade-pumping world of Yelp & Amazon Prime, I should add that Mark has always a 5* & more. In our latest visit yesterday, Mark proved no exception! In his calm & understated fashion, Make explained his pandemic protocols to protect clients and listened to specific areas of attention. Great gym to grab a quick workout in. It is not huge, but they have everything that you need to workout every body part. For weights they have regular and incline bench presses. A rack of free weights. A big rack of weights, multiple machines, and one of those big things where you can do pull ups, triceps extensions, seated rows, pec curls etc. For cardio they have multiple elyptical machines, bikes, treadmills, and a rowing machine. They charge $16-19 for a day pass depending on promotions. Showers and locker room are available as is a tanning bed. read more

One of the most awesome things about this place has nothing to do with the gym itself. It's all of the pricing options. I was only there for a week but wanted to offset my daily margarita drinking and Scottcake eating ("what's a Scottcake?" wow, how dare you), with some solid, intense, swole-producing Level 1 elliptical time. Ahem. They offer weekly memberships and never-expiring "punch card" memberships, in addition to their regular program plans. THIS IS AMAZING. I really appreciated the thought that went into these options, and it really takes the sting of guilt off, say, if you're thinking of getting a weekly membership, but fear you may skip a few days - instead sign up for a punch card! It really is a good deal. Then there's the gym itself. It's great. It has just about everything, and is designed pretty well. It's packed to the gills with equipment on the second floor, yet it doesn't feel "crowded." My only wish is that they had a bit more space for stretching on the second floor, but why quibble? The gym is a solid choice for anyone (very few "muscle guys" during my time there, a great mix of clientele), and I'll definitely be back. read more

So happy to have found this gym. Wait, let me rephrase. My fiancé is so happy to have found this gym. My lazy ass would be perfectly content not going to the gym for the week. Not her. Moving on: $50 for a week if you register online ($55 if you do it in the gym). You get a free drawstring bag which is always a nice perk! Everyone is always super friendly there. We use it mostly for cardio. 5 treadmills which are often taken so you have to wait your turn if you're going during a busy time. I'm an elliptical girl myself which they have I THINK 6 or 7. I don't remember. What I do know is they have the kind I like- the ones that match your stride. Super plus. It's always busy but in a good way. Smiles on everyone's faces. Lots of weights in a small area. Again. You're in Ptown and the space isn't HUGE however they really make the most of their space. We've never gone to classes but it seems to offer many different kinds. There's also a spin room (which seems to double as a laundry room...? ‍) which is nice for those spin addicts. Bathrooms and lockers are always clean which is a plus. Parking in the back and ample bike parking on the side. We love Ptown gym! See you next year! read more

I've never, ever been a gym person (preferring running outdoors instead) but the super snowy and icy P-town winter has forced me to opt for indoor exercise. I couldn't have found a better local gym than his one. Yes, it's tiny and pretty no-frills as far as the equipment goes, but it feels like home, believe it or not. I like that there are mirrors on all sides, so there's always something within view to distract you from the searing pain in your calves as you scale the stairmaster. I have a favorite elliptical machine there, on which I jump as soon as I come in. There are 2 big flat-screen TV's set up on the side with the ellipticals, stairmasters and bikes and plenty of magazines. The staff is always very nice. I haven't taken any classes yet, though. Oh, there's a sauna downstairs. The locker rooms are small and could use an update, but they're always super clean. read more

I'm a performer in town for the summer and needed a place to stay in shape. The owner, Dave, took great care in setting me up for a membership that will only last the duration of my time here. The facilities are clean, bright and well maintained. He offers washers and driers on premises for guests of the gym to do laundry while they workout. The staff is friendly and playful. read more

For a small-town gym, they had everything I needed to get a good workout. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the gym always had patrons but was never packed. The aerobics/yoga room had a special (read: gross) smell to it and the locker room leaves something to be desired, but that'd be my only major critique. The weekly pass is a good deal if you plan to workout more than two times while you are in town. I'll be back on my next visit. read more

I'm not a local, and my time on the Cape was short, so I coughed up the (incredibly steep) drop in fee (...$14), and wound up not regretting it at all. Instead of using the main gym facility, I tried out ptown gym's Zumba; Naya Bricher (the instructor) had some great choreography in store, the workout was intense and enjoyable and, because I was the only person to turn up, I basically got one hour of an exceedingly nice fitness professional's time to myself. A $14 fee made it a nice treat--not something that I'd do regularly without a membership--and as such I couldn't regret it in the slightest. If you're looking for a fun vacation sweat session (possibly before your vacation lobster dinner, or whatever), it doesn't get much better. (...the woman working at the front desk seemed really kind, too, for what it's worth.) Note: I have done Zumba previously; I don't know for sure that this would have been the greatest class for a beginner, but it's tough for me to judge. read more
