This was our first time staying at this marina on our boat. Overall, we found it to be well-run and extremely reasonably priced. There are both moorings and docks in the very beautiful harbor; you can't go wrong either way. There are 50 slips that cost $3.50 per foot of boat per night. A mooring costs $55.00 per night per boat . Boats over 55 feet cost $65.00 per boat per night. If you choose a mooring there is a launch service that will run you back and forth to the dock until 11pm Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays the launch is in operation until midnight. It starts daily at 8AM. The marina is so quiet at night. Each night we were there we slept soundly save for the lapping sound of the water against the boat and the cry of the seagulls waking us up in the morning. The marina itself is in the heart of Provincetown so once off your boat you are right in the thick of things and can walk or bicycle everywhere. If you don't have facilities on your boat there are bathrooms and showers up at the marina dock for customers. We did not have to use them so I can't comment on them one way or another. I did notice a sign stating that the showers take tokens for which you have to pay by the minute of running water. While not a big deal we have been to many other marinas where the showers come with the cost of your slip or mooring. The staff here is really very helpful and went above and beyond for us one night in particular. We were in town and suddenly the skies darkened and it looked like it might rain. So we called the marina and asked if someone would mind boarding our boat and shutting all the open windows and the hatch. Upon our return later that night everything had been nicely closed up for us. All of the staff we encountered from setting up our plans prior to leaving on our trip to our final day there when we pulled up anchor and left the Provincetown harbor, were all very nice and truly accommodating. We had a great time in Provincetown and it was made more homey and comfortable because of the terrific service at this marina. We'd stay here again for sure. read more

The docks are new. The local staff was great. The price is high BUT my major complaint with the Provincetown Marina is their cancelation policy when weather prevents safe travel. Below is my email to the GM. He never responded to my two emails which I copied below: Lee P "Dear Kevin, Will you be replying to my email? I will include your reply to my review on social media. Why we had to pay for tokens to use the showers here is beyond me. We should have been paid to use them, honestly. No space to move around, nowhere to keep your stuff dry within the stall, stall doors that don't lock, and it costs MONEY to use it?! What a joke. Then there's the wireless internet situation. Why can't it just be a plain ol' unsecured network? There is some crazy secret to getting it to work, and there isn't always someone there who actually knows the secret. Therefore, I just didn't bother. At least the internet was nominally free. If you make reservations, beware: changing them will get you charged for the days you reserved, whether or not you actually use the slip those days. Cool! I love being charged for things I'm not using! It is nice and close to Commercial Street, though, so you're really close to the action. The walk down the pier is a bit of a pain, but not a huge one. On the positive side of things, I don't think there was a single time we pulled into our slip and someone didn't help us with it. I also don't think it was usually someone from the marina itself. I had a decently long conversation with one of the staff members, too, and he was really nice. If not for the location, I think we would actively seek another marina to use in the area. If I could give less than one star I would. Provincetown Marina is one of two marinas in town that rent transient moorings. We have reserved moorings with them multiple times over the past 7 years. This fourth of July they were booked solid and could not accommodate us (which BTW is perfectly understandable and not my beef so please keep reading). We went to purchase ice from them earlier today, and while we were there inquired about purchasing shower tokens. Desiree, the woman we spoke to, could not have been more rude to us, stating that shower services were only available to mooring customers (which again is not my beef; I respect their policy, but had not been aware of it given that we had always rented a mooring from them). My point is this.... If Desiree's message was simply to relay that services were only provided to customers there was CERTAINLY a more polite and professional way of delivering it. Especially to loyal customers ..... I think it also important to add that our most recent reservation in September 2012 was nothing short of a nightmare. .... From the launch service that stopped running one evening without telling us (forcing us to spend a pretty penny staying at a bed and breakfast when we couldn't get back to our boat) to the next morning when we kept stopping by and calling the office to try get back on our boat with no one available until late in the morning (THANK YOU again Scott!) I end with this... We will never ever rent a mooring here again. Given that they are close to the only game in town I'm sure this will have little, of any, impact on them. I will however, be sure to direct other cruisers to the other game in town (Flyers) and to be sure they are aware of the abundant anchorage space in the harbor. Not sure if Desiree is one of the daughters that inherited the business from her father, but if she is, shame on her. Her father would have been ashamed at how she treated a loyal customer. read more

I was so pleased to get a slip for a few nights with only a couple of weeks notice. The staff helped you dock. The office staff let us extend our stay, twice, because bad weather moved in. We've been coming here for 11 years, so I feel that I've seen the best and worst of the business. I've been in a slip twice, and on the mooring all other times. Frankly, the negative reviews baffle me - what do people expect? This is boating - which can be like camping unless you're a millionaire - so if everything isn't perfect (like pristine showers or you can't get an internet signal), it isn't what Provincetown Marina promises. There are 3 showers which work fine; you do have to buy a couple of inexpensive tokens, and it's a fine mist of a shower, but it's fresh water and the stall is standard size to move around in and soap oneself up and rinse. They actually repainted and decorated the women's room showers this year, and it's very cute and clean. RUSTIC, but that's perfectly fine for a beach tourist town. What Provincetown Marina delivers is accommodations at one of the most beautiful places, during a very busy tourist season, by people who are very hospitable and kind. It's not easy working with tourists day in and out - factor in the heatwave like we just had and anyone is bound to be grumpy. The people in the marina office and the launch drivers are doing a great job in a tough business. Friendly as can be, accomodating, and again, trying to run a business. They get people in their office every day asking to use their facilities (like use their bathrooms) without being paying customers. Factor in a slob leaving a mess in their toilet, and it gets aggravating, I'm sure. Then there's the people who buy ice from them, and get angry because a couple of the cubes melted in the 99 degree heat and they demand a refund on a $2.50 bag of ice! For anyone who hasn't lived/worked in a tourist town, you just have no idea how rude, demanding and ignorant visitors can be. But a smile and compliment go a long way with them and get you some respect and good service. Desiree can be businesslike curt if need be (yes, I've been on the receiving end of that during phone calls), but she's not a deliberately rude or a mean person. If a dog is any indication of judging a person's character, my little beagle adored her and took to her immediately. Launch service is a value-added service, not a promise - and they do experience problems like any other business would with boats breaking down, or launch drivers calling in sick. Boaters need to be flexible & always have backup plans! If you are the kind of person who demands a launch to come to you immediately, and expect a launch will wait for you if you're late coming back after a night of partying in town, then bring your own dinghy/kayak to their tie up dock. A call to the harbormaster for an emergency could get you back to your boat, too, should the launch have to break down. I hear some of the calls they get on the launch radio from "captains of yachts" demanding immediate pickup so Biff and Buffy will make their 5 star dinner reservation - you know what people? If you have the money for a 50' yacht, bring a deckhand and have them cater to you personally. That is NOT what Provincetown Marina is about. The launch drivers are great. They lead you to your mooring when you arrive in port, and are courteous and timely if you need rides back and forth. They resolve issues like when other people are on the mooring you're supposed to be on. They'll give you any information they can about the town, with a smile. People do things like leave bags of smelly boat trash on the launch boat, and the drivers have to take it up to the dumpster. Multiply that over an 8-12 hour period, on a job that depends mostly on tips, and maybe you'll understand how tough their jobs really are. As for Flyers, I've been there too. Only 1 of their 2 showers works, and they are filthy in what I would describe as akin to an old gas station bathroom. They do offer boat rentals which is a plus, and they have a couple of launches to their mooring field. BE WARNED - at low tides you may not be able to get the launch at Flyers because their dock is too shallow. For those who aren't familiar, Flyers and Provincetown Marina are competitors, and they have separate launches for each half of the mooring field they own. There is a good long walk between the two businesses on land. If you find yourself in the vicinity of Flyers, and want to take their launch back to the main wharf, if you are not on their mooring they say no even if you offer to pay a fare and tip handsomely. If they instead offered to sell a ticket to non-mooring customers, they could make some money and get some goodwill working to promote tourism in PTown. It's always better to work with your competitor than say rude things about them, like I experienced just last week when a young man behind the counter told me "too bad" when I asked if I could buy a ticket on their launch. The boat was 3/4 empty, and he said to me "we're too busy to take you." Provincetown Marina is a great business & I'm a fan. read more

Rip off at $2.50 per foot for a mooring!! They have filled up the harbor with mooring balls so there is little room to anchor except in very deep water. This is more expensive than Edgartown and Boston. Will definitely not return just for this reason. read more

The Provincetown Marina is the BEST marina in the North East!! The marina is staffed 24 hours a day. Someone is always available to help you in anyway they can day or night. Extra nice people willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone has a perfect stay. The slips have 40' fingers with pilings on every one. There is plenty of room for docking and someone is always available to help catch a line. The prices are the most reasonable in the area and well worth it. You stay at the Provincetown marina and you are right next to the thick of things. A waterfront view of one of the most picturesque scenery we have in the state. Beaches, dunes, wildlife, nature, shopping, dining, dancing, karaoke, you name it, and you can find it here. You can be as alone as you want or be with as many people as you want. A vacation paradise that you can custom fit to whatever makes you happy. For boaters, the Provincetown marina makes it all possible by keeping their costs down and bending over backwards to do what ever they can to make your stay perfect. I love the Provincetown Marina and recommend it highly. read more

No I did not stay here. They took my $300 'deposit' (2-night minimum, 30-foot minimum) and had some bad weather in August so asked to reschedule to a later date over 48 hours in advance. To be fair, they were helpful and allowed a later date into mid-September. Requiring 2 weeks advance notice to change dates seems ridiculous and other marinas agree with me. I was unable to make the mid-september trip due to mechanical failure, was denied a reschedule, and they charged me the full $300 for what I assume is an empty slip at their dock this weekend. Better rates, and better customer service are available. Use others first, as me and my friends will not ever give them our business. I will update you with names and numbers of other, more amenable marinas throughout the area at the beginning of next summer. Good luck. And when you keep a 'deposit'? It should not be the full high season rate. That is not a 'deposit', that is the full cost. Learn good business and some better customer service, even if your location does not require you to. read more

Good Marina with firepit and lots of amenities. They just put in new docks this year. The money they are charging for slips and moorings they need more showers. Could not handle the amount of people. By far the WORST marina one could stay at. We traveled up from Stuart Florida, staying at all different marinas. Some nicer than others, but all had amenities, hospitable staff that went out of their way to help you. This marina offers nothing!!!!! Not a cup of coffee, absolutely no help, extremely rude office staff. They act as if they are doing you a favor allowing you to stay there. The restrooms are deplorable. For the money one pays to stay here, it is unbelievable. I highly recommend find another marina (Provincetown Harbor Marina) , stay on a mooring (Flyers) and if there is no other choice, then forgo P-town. I must preface this review by saying I did not actually stay in this marina but frequently visited friends who were docked there. I travel quite a bit so I don't see what the issues with the bathrooms are. They are clean and orderly. The latrine and showers are FAR from luxurious but that is not what they are going for. I really only have room to speak on the courteous nature of the employees in the office. They never hassled me with my constant going to and from the boats to visit my friends. After having a long conversation with the night watchman he explained to me why people get so upset. They have a ton of loyal customers but aren't able to accommodate all of them in the manner they wish to be. They are busy and try there best to fit people in but it really is first come first serve. The facilities have been abused MANY times but they do their best to keep everything clean and working properly. When coming here I think it is helpful to keep in mind that they are always busy and do the best they can. Never would I assume they would have a piss poor attitude for the sake of being asses. read more

I am writing this while on one of their moorings. This is the third year, and fourth time coming here. Launch service has always been great and friendly, and we always tip the launch drivers for the good, prompt service. This year we made a reservation but came a day late and they were happy to make the change and not charge us extra. Then when trying to leave we found that we had lost our transmission, and the launch drivers have been more than helpful in getting us connected with a good mechanic. We are waiting now with the transmission out, and may need to fill up with water in a few days. We checked and they would be happy to move us to a slip or fuel dock as needed and then move us back to the mooring. Great people here, and a good place to get stuck for a few days! read more

We just spent the weekend in a slip at the Provincetown Marina, which is under new management and has been extensively renovated. We barely recognized the place! Beautiful new docks, new shower facilities, nice new office, lounge area with fire pit, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll be back next year! read more

They must be so flush as nearly the only game in town that the concept of customer service is irrelevant. Desiree was incredibly rude on the phone when I called before our trip with a simple question. We then picked up some friends at the small float the town currently provides for temporary tie-ups after boating over from Scituate. After a great day on the water we went to the fuel dock at Provincetown Marina to fuel up for the trip back and to drop off our friends. The fuel dock is a float attached to their large pier with no access to the pier- be careful no bumpers or anyone to help dock, just splintered, hull scouring wood. The gas and diesel hoses where lying on the float and the 'attendant' on the pier rudely yelled instructions since we were obviously confused: 'no drop offs, put your money or credit card in bucket, tell me how much gas you want, pump it yourself'. He then hauled the bucket with my credit card up with a rope while I pumped $200 worth of gas myself. Then we waited and waited until he finally returned and lowered the card and slip in the bucket again. After leaving the dock we tried to drop our friends at the small town float where we'd picked them up, but late in the day it was filled with boats obviously ignoring the 15 min tie-up limit. Provincetown Marina has multiple slips they rent on that side of the pier, so we pulled up to the end of that float and our friends debarked- but was we were saying our goodbyes this kid walked up and yelled, 'Get back in the boat! No drop-offs here!' (We had missed the sign). I explained he had just bought $200 in gas and that the public float was full. He ignored me and just more loudly repeated his demand. We're all professionals and were flabbergasted at the cumulative rudeness they exhibited and the complete disregard for just normal customer service. read more

Great location and very friendly launch drivers. I did have a bad experience with their reservation policy. I called about a month in advance and made reservations for 3 nights. Later I decided to shift the nights forward by one day. As our trip was more than one week away, there should have been no charge for this change. However I couldn't find the telephone # that I used for making the reservation so I looked them up on the Internet and found an email address. I emailed them and received positive confirmation. Well it turns out that I emailed the wrong company. That company never said that they didn't take my original request and never having sailed to ptown before I didn't realize my mistake. The office manager at ptown moorings was not interested in my mishap and said that there was nothing she could do for me and that I needed to pay $. I share this story so that others will not make the same mistake. They don't have a website and only accept reservations by phone. I would have been better off if u hadn't made reservations. I heard other boats on VHF coming in without reservations and they seemed to be getting spaces - only difference is that they didn't have to pay for nights that they didn't use. read more
