This is the first review I've written so that alone should be telling. Instead of realizing I needed reading glasses, he became very frustrated and rude when my eye sight became unstable during multiple exams. He gave me wildly varying prescriptions within a few weeks. I emailed recently about a contact lense credit I had at his office (he said he could have me seeing with contact lenses - he couldn't even get me in glasses!!). His reply email was shockingly rude as it had been a few years. I'm pleased to report that the fantastic team at CUNY eye center got me in reading glasses and wearing monovision contacts (eliminating the need for two pairs of glasses! woo!).

She found a way to prevent my eyes from automatically focusing every lens choice put in the machine and being unable to determine which one was clearer. She is resourceful and creative in understanding and solving problems. When Dr Doyle became temporarily unavailable, we went to her associate, Dr Sara Derr for many years and have had an excellent experience with her problem solving skills, as well. Our whole family sees Dr Derr, and has for years, including care for a grandson who had a cataract removed as an infant. This is a winning team of excellent eye doctors.

Unfortunately for me, he retired recently and a young newly minted optometrist now works there. Let me just say that if you're expecting even nearly the same level of eye care from the new optometrist, you will be disappointed. The new optometrist told me that I will have to go to another practice to get the complete exam that I'm accustomed to. She could really only do the eyeglasses exam - not the eye health exam. They sold me on using some piece of equipment that would allow me to avoid getting my eyes dilated for the exam. It was $39 out of pocket - no insurance coverage. I agreed to try it. The machine got a picture of the back of my left eye, but failed numerous attempts on my right eye. I don't think I should have been charged for this. Of course, they billed my credit card anyway. I think I'll have to find a new eye care practice after this.

Such a waste of time, tried to up sell us to a $45 full retina thing. For a 6 year old it didn't seem necessary and when we tried to say no thank you it became "they don't schedule regular appointments on weekends so it's $45 or nothing." Felt slimy and sale-sly. Since I knew I was in the area after eating breakfast this past Saturday I had a pair of sunglasses…read morethat I was having issues with with comfortability so I looked up on Google and found that there was a LensCrafters close by in the Plymouth meeting mall so I headed over. Parking is a private lot. When I walked in the store, it was very bright and swanky. I mean, I have never seen a LensCrafters this nice. I approach a gentleman and a woman and I told them that I was there to see if they could fix my sunglasses to which the gentleman Darien stated that he could. I showed him my sunglasses and he told me they could fix them as long as I understood that they were not responsible if they broke since I did not buy them there. I asked how long had he been repairing glasses and he tops me for over 30 years so that was important to me because I knew that he knew what he was doing. So I gave him the green light. Darien brought my sunglasses back to life! they fit better on my face! he was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain to me what the issues were and why my glasses were uncomfortable. I am big on customer service and that they did deliver so I will be changing my prescription over to this location. So if you love great Customer Service and ambience, (i know, I know it's just an eyeglass place)I recommend here.

The staff member was very courteous and attending to me very quickly. They looked at my glasses and said it needed a lab technician to be fixed, but it would be ready the next day. I left my glasses there and came by the next day to find that it was successfully fixed. I didn't get a call or email about it being ready, so I called ahead of time to make sure. There was no charge to the service, which was great. Overall, good experience. Of note, the location is no longer inside the mall, but outside on the corner, near J. Crew Factory.

Needless to say - they insisted on putting through me medical insurance - which gives them a higher reimbursement and charges me a much higher co-pay. My prior optometrist always put through my vision insurance. There is nothing wrong with my eyes, but they noted "the start of age related cataracts (that won't require surgery for many years), and other minor things that don't need treatment. I have since heard similar stories from others. Also - their glasses are very expensive. They only had a handful that would be fully covered by my insurance. Buyer beware!

Because my wife has been a patient here for years, and the office is close to our home, I decided to make an appointment here. The office is in a very convenient location right on Germantown Pike, and it's a good building with a bunch of exam rooms, an area with glasses, and a good sized waiting room, although I don't think it's much in use with the pandemic. They accept most insurance and are very friendly. Also, they have a pac-man arcade game in the waiting room, although I don't know if they kept it on during the pandemic. I recently made another appointment, and I appreciate how they have email confirmation and online forms to fill out rather than taking up time during the visit. Also, they seem to be taking some good precautions with COVID-19.
