Tad Oliphant Construction - Bad dry rot! It rains a lot here and we had the dreaded failing LP siding

I'm a single mom of three with a modest home. Our house is an investment our future. Interviewed…read moreand got quotes from 3 other contractors.....Tad Oliphant and Co. was the one that I chose. Some were more expensive and some were less. I chose the right one. It's a small company so I never had to search for the owner if I had questions, he was right there. He and his crew were professional, timely, honest and easy to work with. When any change needed to be made or a problem arose, he was quick to find solution and happy to work with me. I've hired him for a number of projects now (fixing dry rot, sky light installation, window trim, and exterior house paint) and trust his work and his ethics. I have family and friends in the industry and know how hard it can be to find a good contractor. The best part is the day he and his crew went the extra mile for me. I, in an effort to save money on a repairman, chose to replace the belt on my drier myself. All went well until I figured out that I didn't have the strength to stretch it over a certain spot. They saw me under the drier, on the floor of my garage, with parts scattered from one end to the other and, without asking, jumped right in. The belt was a nightmare but they took an hour plus out of their day to help me. If you're looking for a honest, hard working, and ethical contractor....this is your guy. Can't thank them enough.

Tad is a man of integrity , charges a fair price for his work and when the job is finished he makes sure his customers are satisfied . I highly recommend Oliphant Construction.

They never showed up on they didn't show up and when they did show up, they were unclean and the work that they did was like a third grader did it? They damaged an ottoman by sitting on it with a box cutter in their pocket. that of course slit the hole in it, and then refused to pay for the damage. If you're thinking of having them do some work for you think again it's not worth it even if they're the lowest better

The contract was signed Sep 20, 2017 and the estimated completion date was no later than Oct 31, 2017. The builder's foreman, Morgan, had a final walk through with my husband Sep 20, 2018. I filed a complaint against Central Coast Builders with Oregon's Construction Contractors Board. The mediation occurred December 20, 2018 and I prevailed. In other words, my complaint of unethical conduct on behalf of the contractor and the resulting deplorable workmanship resulted in Central Coast Builders having a permanent complaint filed against their construction license number. When you interview a licensed construction contractor for a project, be sure to ask who will be tasked with completing the job: direct employees or subcontractors. And before you hire a construction contractor, be sure to extend "due diligence" beyond what you consider diligent. Watch for my coming Op-Eds on choosing a licensed construction contractor and my experience filing a complaint with Oregon's Construction Contractors Board. And aside from a Yelp, you should also consult Google reviews, Angie's List, and Home Advisor.
