This is a nice market in the country that appears to be an unassuming gas station/convenience store as you drive by. We headed right for the meat counter and picked up some thick cut pork chops, wedding sausage, and Kosciusko (sp?) sausage. It was all great. We also picked up some dips they make and enjoyed those as well. read more

I believe in buying local and know that there are extra costs for having supplies delivered outside the city limits. I also understand businesses have to make a profit. However $6.69 for a gallon of Dairy Pure whole milk is ridiculous. Aside from occasionally buying meats I will not shop there again. 6/17/2020. I went in to see what was new. The store has been renovated and looked much better but the attitude still the same, everything ridiculously overpriced. I bought an item on sale for $7.99 and at the register was charged $8.56. I told the cashier and she went back, removed the sign and said the distributors did not tell her and they could not give me a refund. I said I did not need the refund but wanted her to know so it would not happen again. I recalled that they usually do not give you a receipt unless you request it and wonder how many people are.overcharged and do not realize it. read more

Today was our first experience at Pruski's Meat Market. It was a busy time, but everyone was courteous and helpful. I was especially surprised that the young man behind the meat counter remembered what we asked for when we first went there because he was busy on another order and told us it would be 15 minutes. When it was our turn, he already had the order ready to go!!! The cashier was so pleasant. We left the store with a wonderful start to our Saturday because of the staff. The store was clean and everything was laid out neatly with readable names of the items and prices. After running some errands we arrived home and my teen son immediately wanted to try some of the cooked ribs we had purchased. He told me he would definitely want us to get more in the future after eating them. We look forward to our next visit. read more

Outstanding family owed meat market and grocery store. Pruski's has a great home feel to it when you walk in. Everyone greets you and is very friendly. My original review is below. I have decided to update my review based on the prompt and conscientious response that I received. I truly believe that this is an honorable company and I wanted to disavow any negative perceptions that my prior review received. I was not asked to do this, it is entirely my choice. Original review: This company stocks convenience stores with beef jerky. I bought some today for $7, ate a good amount, and then noticed huge mold spots on the pieces left in the bag. The Sell By date isn't until March 5th of this year. This either means that this company is changing the expiration date sticker to lie to customers, or that there was some major malfunction during the dehydration process, leading to higher moisture levels than usual. I am working with the retailer to get a refund, and waiting to find out if I get sick or not. I have heard of other local jerky companies pulling the Sell By date scam, so I don't want to unduly accuse what seems to be a good company. Please check your jerky closely before buying, as this mold was not initially visible from the outside of the packaging. read more

Not a C-Store! AN OLD-FASHIONED GROCERY & MEAT MKT Come out to PRUSKI's 2 the country (inside 1604) & u won't buy pre-cut store meat again!

The only reason I am giving one star, is because I can't give zero. I called and placed and order before New Years for a 7 pound, bone in, untrimmed Rump Roast for New Years Day. I did not get what I ordered in the least. My first mistake was not insisting on seeing the roast. My second mistake was not taking a picture of the roast when I opened it to cook it. I didn't think I needed too. Boy was I wrong!!!! It was the worst roast I have ever had! It was completely trimmed out! Not even enough fat to get drippings for gravy and it was extremely tough. I called and left a message concerning this and was contacted today by Pruski's who totally sided with the butcher who said he did not trim out. He is either a complete liar or that was the skinniest cow I have ever seen. I am not a stranger to butchering and can tell when something has been trimmed out. You could see the knife cut marks on the roast! The customer service is completely lacking on their end. A half assed apology on this was not sufficient. I will no longer drive 20 miles to get my meat at Pruski's. This is Texas and they aren't the only butcher in town! I should of taken pictures. read more

Very good meat and sausages worth a trip. We have a market closer to us in seguin but I try and stop here whenever I'm in the area for some of that awesome sausage I make a lot of sausage at home but hate doing it mr pruski maybe y'all do custom sausages if so let me know if so I'd be willing to part with recipe to get a hundred pounds or so made. I don't even mind if y'all reuse it and sell it. It's the best chicken sausage you'll ever eat. I made up recipe after about ten years of trying to get it right and finally ended up with a product I cannot make enough of as y'all know how that works in sure. It works with any bird from pheasant dove to quail turkey. It just fits and makes it so much better. Took a lot of work to get recipe right over many years but finally have it mixed well and I do hundred pound batches usually on my grinder mixer and stuffer. Good to see y'all doing well my dad and I both have workers for you guys in the pst on refrigeration equipment. Hope all is well with the family. Rickey Brown read more

Best sausages ever. Shopped meat markets in San Antonio, Marion, and Castroville. This place is by far the best sausage maker around. I've smoked their seasoned leg quarters, fantastic.
