My last review was raving about the food, atmosphere and service, today was definitely a one star. The Philly with mushrooms and cheese sauce was delicious so that was the positive thing about the visit. I did not get photos of the food this time because by the time we got our food it was about an hour after getting there (we were there 10 mins after they opened). The side salad was luke warm and the lettuce was welted. I would not order the side salad again. The amount of bacon bits on was very over powering so much I couldn't even finish it. Then they forgot my kids chicken strips and we were almost done before they brought them out, Ridiculous! Then when the bill came out they charged $3.50 for a soda that was included with a kids meal because "well we gave her a bigger size". Thats great I didn't ask you too. She still drank the same amount whether it was in a big glass or kids cup. They did take it off the bill which was nice. Then after paying the bill and got back to our friend's house we noticed they charged us for their appetizer, I should have done better checking over the bill so that was my fault I didn't check it better. After an hour and a half sitting there I was just ready to leave. Safe to say this place is delicious Philly Cheese steaks but the wait staff is hit or miss. read more

Dined on a Friday night and the place was bustling with people - very lively environment, family friendly as well. Ordered a Marshmallow Sour beer via recommendation from our waitress and it was quite tasty. Ordered the Buffalo Pie for my meal and was very pleased. Crust is perfect thickness, healthy portion of cheese, and good flavor profile. One recommendation is to order a side of buffalo sauce as the chicken is the only thing marinated in buffalo sauce so non-chicken bites taste more like alfredo pizza (still delicious). Would definitely come back and would definitely order the Buffalo Pie again - great experience! read more

Stopped in Saturday mid afternoon with a group of 6. Food took about 20-25 mins to arrive. Margherita foccia was overcooked-bordering on burned. Fettuccine was flavorless and bland. I discovered another absolutely delicious appetizer last night right in my hometown! We were supposed to pull out of Willow Creek Campground in Le Mars on Monday. However, we decided to stay another week. We've been there since April 30th and absolutely love it! I offered The Wife 3 options to eat out in Le Mars and she chose P's Pizza House. I'm glad she did! I had never had the Pork Belly appetizer and decided to order it up last night. It is thickly cut pork belly strips that are braised and served on a bed of hand breaded onion rings with a side of Habenero BBQ Sauce. Every single element of this appetizer was glorious! The pork belly was jam packed fully of salty flavor and braised to perfection! The onion rings on which the belly sat were some of the best onion rings I have ever had...beyond delicious! The Habenero BBQ is like crack! I ended up dipping every bit of my meal in it. It is that good! I don't normally get overly excited about an appetizer and I know P's Pizza House is more so known for it's pizza and pastas. But, their Pork Belly appetizer is one of those items that I would drive miles to get again! Fortunately, I don't have to! The Wife ordered their Tortellini Formaggio and had them add shrimp. She claims that every bit of the Tortellini Formaggio was done to perfection! The tortellini was on point. The white wine cream sauce was delicious. The add-on shrimp were quite large and cooked very well! Overall, a delicious dish that presented very nicely! The sauteed spinach and roasted tomatoes added nice color and flavor! Our youngest daughter ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs. Our waitress accidentatlly put the order in as Spaghetti "no" Meatballs. However, as another waitress brought our dishes out, our waitress noticed her error before the other gal was even able to put the plate on the table. The oversight was immediately remedied as she had the kitchen fire an entirely new dish with meatballs. Many places would have just put the noodles under a heat lamp until the meatballs were done. However, P's Pizza House refired the entire dish so that my daughter got a fresh meal al biet a little after ours. Our waitress profusely apologized, owned up to her mistake, and made it right! I forgot to take a picture of hers when they first brought it out. She was already digging into one of the three huge meatballs. She tried making it pretty for me so I could get a picture. She really enjoyed the house made spaghetti sauce. She said there was something that really stood out. I asked her if it was oregano and she thought that might be it. I failed to take a taste of it for myself, but I'm assuming that's what it was. She said the noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente. She obviously enjoyed the flavoring and doneness of the meatballs. I asked her her overall opinion of the dish and she said it would definitely be one that she'd order again! You all know me and my burgers. So, yes, I had to order a burger! The waitress suggested I order The Texan. However, I went with the Fifty-Fifty burger. The Fifty-Fifty burger is an unsung hero in the Siouxland Burger World. The Fifty-Fifty Burger from P's Pizza House starts off with a 1/2 pound prime burger. It has one of my favorite cheeses: Havarti. The house cut bacon is spot on adding a nice salty flavor and great texture. The carmelized onions are the perfect addition. The hero of this burger is the pulled pork that is smoked at Iowa Barbeque across town and placed on top of this burger! The pork gives the burger a nice smokey flavor. Every element of this burger gives it it's own unique flavor and you can taste them all! The flavors all harmonize together making it one of my favorite burgers in Siouxland. The sports bar atmosphere at @P's Pizza House last night was buzzing pretty good. It's got some high end dishes, but does not have a stuffy feel at all. It is kid friendly and the wait staff was very nice! I mean no disrespect to the other similar restaurant on the south edge of Le Mars, but our experience at P's Pizza House was quite a bit better than there. The food is typically quite good, but the late 2 times we have been here, it took a really, really long time to get our food--So much so that one of the times the manager comped our drinks. They have also gotten rid of the apple and gouda burger which was my favorite thing. Last month when I was there I asked our server about it and she got kind of snippy about it. Then she brought out the wrong food to 2 members of our party and never apologized. Still, we will probably give it another shot because my husband loves the chicken alfredo pizza. read more

I spent a summer in Le Mars b/c of an internship at Wells/Blue Bunny and mostly cooked my own food most of the time. I went to P's three times & the only other times I ate out were at 4 Brothers. If I had to pick one or the other I would pick 4 Brothers over P's Pizza. One upside with P's over 4 Brothers is that it does have pizza and appetizers for dinner, but really both are kind of average. The pizza is relatively thin crust by my standards. There are good pizza selection but the price for pizza is ABSURD!!!! If I buy pizza at a restaurant I don't expect to pay $18 for a medium thin crust pizza. I do like that they have a wide variety of beer and you can get it for 32oz. They do give you the price of the "craft" beers which is a plus, but some of them are relatively expensive when it comes out to $6-7 a pint where other places in the area I can get a 22oz craft beer for $6. It isn't bad, but it isn't amazing. (OFF TOPIC but) There aren't many places in Le Mars that are bar & grills meant for pure casual atmosphere: P's & 4 Brothers being the only two I knew of when I was in Le Mars. Dingers could be a third, but I never went there because I simply didn't know what the atmosphere would be like. I am assuming they have food. Archie's was a little more business casual like place where they have a bar, but it isn't the place to go where you want to have fun with friends. OFF TOPIC, but we once went to Archies with a supplier and it seemed like the other patrons were giving us the death stare because we were joking around & laughing at a lower volume. It seemed like most people went to Archies for ONLY a night of food and peace & quiet. Everyone else was just really quiet the entire time. Have been coming here for years, and till now have mostly enjoyed the food. Service can be very hit and miss, but that is to be expected. That being said, the last time we stopped in(a couple of weeks ago), we ordered the largest pizza they have, as we like the leftovers. When our pizza came out, imagine our surprise that it about the size of a frozen pizza. When we questioned our waitress, she informed us that they now only have one size. I've been to P's many times for drinks or dinner & have always loved their food. This past weekend I held a baby shower in their Party room & Audra (the GM) was so attentive to detail & working with me on an appropriate menu. She worked with bartenders on making a new pink drink for drinking guests! She allowed me in earlier than normal to do decorating. And when we ate the buffet, P's was quick to respond with more food than originally ordered, even though it was during their lunch rush! The guests had a great time! Mr. P's is a great location for families and single people to come and enjoy choice beverages and tasty food in Le Mars. They have a full American food menu & full bar with numerous drinks to choose from. In addition they offer stage entertainment (i.e. comedians, dueling pianos) at various times throughout the year. Recently Mr. P's had undergone a change in ownership but still continues to deliver consistent service and great food. I am NEVER coming back! My pizza was burnt black on the bottom and crust. It arrived late with my wings. No refills on the drinks. Cold, loud and weird lighting hurt my eyes. My waitress was more worried about carrying beers to the game watchers on the joining room than making sure we had our drinks, food or Bill. I waited 10 minutes for the bill after waiting 45+ minutes on pizza and wings. My table had gotten up and left, while I stood at the end of the table to get her attention. The food and service is absolutely awesome they have whatever your want on the menu the food came fast and everyone at the table enjoyed it... I saw that they have a big room with a projector so it would be perfect for a party of any kind and the bartenders and waitress definitely know what they are doing and they can get stuff done the right way... definitely recommend. :) read more

Mr P's food was great and we had a fun time with the wait staff who were dressed up for Holloween. If you are looking for a bit more formal setting, it's not here, but the food was great. At our table we had the 8oz sirloin steaks that we're prepared to our liking and a couple of their pizzas. The barbeque chicken pizza was a hit. We had planned on going to Four Brothers down the road from Mr. P's, but left there after receiving poor and rude service by the management. We were a little skeptical of Mr P's from the appearance of the outside, but we're very pleased that we checked it out. It just goes to show you that you shouldn't "judge a book by it's cover". We found this to be true in our dining experience at both places. The next time we go out for dinner in a town we visit I will pay more attention to the comments on Yelp. I arrived at 9:45 and asked for a menu but was told the kitchen was closed. So, I always like to order from the draft selection of beer because you usually get your money worth. I ordered one beer! ONE BEER!! $11! They should have a caution sign or someone should tell you the cost since it's not on the menu. I asked "what's on tap" I just picked the ale since it sounded like a common beer. Holy cow $11!!! So then On the next beer I asked how much was a bottle of domestic Coors? She replied, "$2.75". So I said, "I will just take a Coors instead of a $11 beer." When I got the ticket it was $4 for the Coors! I asked why 4?? She said Coors light is $2.75 and Coors original is an import! WTF?? Imported from the same brewery? To top it off, I asked what time the kitchen closes any they said 10:30! I asked for a menu at 9:45 and she said the kitchen was closed!! Slow slow slow. Disappointed. Pizza was obviously sitting in the back while I was waiting for it up front. We called it in for a carry out orders was supposed to get it at 5:45.
