The only positive thing here from my experience was my therapist. Otherwise, I am very frustrated…read more Last week, I was supposed to see my psychiatrist, Dr. Hasan, but I wasn't told until I got to the clinic that she no longer provides services to people with my health insurance (UnitedHealth Care). I didn't even get a phone call or even an email in advance saying that my appointment with Dr. Hasan was cancelled for said reason. I've spent about a week now trying to figure out with the clinic why Dr. Hasan let me go so suddenly, and without any written prescriptions either. I have been without one of my medications for almost two weeks now. The people at the front desk haven't been so helpful either. Also, I second review regarding billing: I didn't receive my bill until after I was told that my psychiatrist let me go. All in all, I don't regret leaving.

So I get my FIRST bill from them which says I owe them $240 something and they're sending my account to collections... so they're threatening my credit. I call finance and no one answers so I leave a voicemail and pay the bill. 2 weeks later someone calls me... Now somehow they owe me $110 something back and they wanted to just leave it on my account. But I was going to collections? What? I had already decided to go to a new office by then so I told them I wanted a refund, she made it seem like it was no problem/easy as can be... So now it's been A MONTH and I have no refund. I've been leaving their finance department voicemails for 2 weeks now. No one ever answers! When I try to talk to the front office they come at me with a completely unwarranted attitude 100% of the time and like to remind me that I told them I'm going to a new doctor now. Who is "running" this place? How is it still open when it has all 1 star ratings? I left ANOTHER message today. Let's see if anyone calls me back. I'll bet the $110 refund I'll never see that I have to call back again. I just want to be done with this place already! Pray for me y'all.

This is my truth, it is 100% accurate and exactly what I experienced. My experience at this facility was deeply distressing and, in my view, a profound injustice. I hold an MBA in Finance and Accounting and have been in two graduate programs, yet despite clear communication and full orientation, I was hospitalized due to what I know was a misdiagnosis. During my stay, one I should never have been subjected to, I encountered treatment that I consider both inappropriate and unethical. A nurse named Watta and a behavioral technician, who brought in her brother as a patient, performed an aggressively forceful body check, and during that incident, I believe a photo or video of me in an unclothed, vulnerable state was taken without my consent and then publically shared. Additionally, Nurse Watta and the other nurse who brought in her male relative I believe to be her brother performed an aggressively forceful body check on me and took a video or picture of me in an unclothed, vulnerable state without my consent. I reported this incident to patient relations. To make matters worse, the psychiatrist, Dr. Chidiac, proceeded with what I believe was an additional misdiagnosis. Nurse Jessica, who repeatedly displayed disrespectful behavior toward patients, forced me to take an antipsychotic injection typically used for individuals with schizophrenia, an illness I do not have. This particular medication remains active in the body for roughly a month, making the decision even more unnecessary and harmful from my perspective. I was given no justification that aligned with my actual condition or symptoms. Beyond the medical concerns, the overall environment was extremely uncomfortable and poorly managed. The lounge area is furnished with hard, block-style seating that patients are required to use because bedroom access is restricted throughout the day. After exercising in the gym, there is no accessible drinking water, which is unacceptable for patient health and safety. The ventilation system is also inadequate, causing widespread allergy issues among patients, including myself. At no point did staff clearly explain how the unit operates, nor did they inform me that participation in certain activities and groups was mandatory for discharge. Because of this lack of communication, I ended up remaining there for nearly a month, something that could have been avoided entirely had staff provided even basic guidance. The way some staff members treated me is something I will never forget. I was repeatedly misunderstood, judged, and dismissed. Unfounded assumptions were made about my character, and at one point Nurse Jessica went so far as to call me racist, an accusation completely untrue and entirely inconsistent with who I am especially as a minority myself. Additionally, the behavioral technician Jimmy called me a "nasty ass" and "spoiled," language that was not only unprofessional but deeply degrading. It is unacceptable for any healthcare professional, especially someone working with vulnerable patients, to use insults or personal attacks instead of empathy, respect, and proper behavioral support. My assigned male social worker was also extremely dismissive of everything I tried to tell him. He provided no meaningful help or advocacy, and I distinctly remember him laughing very loudly behind my back in a mocking way. These behaviors from multiple staff members left me feeling dehumanized and unheard. The most shocking moment came during my meeting with several staff members and the judge at Dover Behavioral Health. I was not informed ahead of time that the hearing was taking place, leaving me completely unprepared and blindsided during a meeting of serious consequence. What happened to me was wrong. No patient, regardless of education, background, or circumstances, should be subjected to misdiagnosis, coercive treatment, privacy violations, or staff mockery. I shared my story not only for accountability but so that Dover Behavioral Health System might recognize these serious issues and improve the standard of care for others. I welcome a genuine, transparent investigation that includes speaking directly with me and reviewing all records, rather than a blanket denial. Patients deserve better.

DO NOT send your child here. DBH needs to be shut down. My child was sexually assaulted by her…read moreroommate. They locked her in a room with a violent individual who hurt her. She was forced to then see her roommate on the floor who continually harassed her for 5 days in the facility. My daughter's medication was withheld for 4 days. There was one excuse after another as to why she wasn't being given her medication. They claimed I never signed paperwork for them to continue giving her the mental health meds she's been on since December. Which was untrue. Even after signing the form the 2nd time, it still wasn't in her chart. A nurse finally called me on day 4 and asked me about her meds and I gave verbal permission. On her last full day of her stay she was finally given the Prozac they had been withholding. She was made to wear the same 2 outfits all week. They suggest packing 5 days of clothes but they withhold the clothes you send in for them to use. She ended up having her period midway through her stay. She continued to have to wear soiled clothes all week as they would not provide sanitary pads. She stated the nurses said they were too busy to get her pads to wear. There were multiple fights among the children daily . My daughter spent every day terrified and could not sleep at night because she was so scared. I could not remove my daughter for legal reasons, 72 hour hold. But then had to sign a form giving them 72 hour heads up before I could take her. She came out of DBH traumatized. No contact from the social worker on her case and 1 phone call from the psychiatrist who obviously should not be a child psychiatrist. These people have care over our children! They have no business being anywhere near children. I'm appalled by what took place. I allowed my child to be admitted because she needed help, compassion, medication management. We receieved none of that.
