My recommendation is that if you are suffering from depression seek out Dr. Kornreich as soon as possible. Invited in the receptionist as I was having my exam, without mentioning or asking and she just stood there with her clipboard. Very uncomfortable. 2. Did not even perform a breast exam during my annual. I found this very strange as I've always had a quick breast exam each year. I feel that's one of the main reasons you even go to your annual appointment! 3. During the exam he kind of led me into saying I felt discomfort so he could run extra tests. While literally inside of me he asked "you feel discomfort, yes?" And I said uh yea I guess (because it was awkward so I was uncomfortable and of course there's a slight pressure). This made him tell me that something is probably wrong and I should come back for an ultrasound. This feels similar to other reviews I've seen 3. Told me they accepted my insurance (after I inquired several times and had them check my insurance card) and are in network but turns out their contract was terminated so now I need to pay out of pocket or hopefully get a claim accepted. 4. While there waiting, it was extremely crowded with no one wearing masks. I asked if I could wait outside and be called in because I was uncomfortable, the receptionist looked right at me with an aggravated stare and then completely ignored me and turned to talk to the woman next to me. 5. I actually went twice because first the wait time was 1 hr by the time I left (and I had an appointment).

Just as one of the other reviews wrote, Dr. Niznikiewicz will diagnose you with conditions you don't have! This is my experience: I just went in for a check-up. During the exam he said that he suspects that I have an ovarian cyst (mind you, I had absolutely no symptoms - totally healthy!). So, at this point I'm already pretty scared...THEN during my breast exam, he said he feels a lump in one of my breasts! At this point I almost started to cry - and I began feeling the breast myself to see if I could feel anything - but I didn't! So, I left the office with documents to get a BUNCH of tests done - one being a mammogram! Guess what? I'm under 40, I shouldn't even be getting a mammogram (which I found out from the radiologist who questioned me as to why I'm getting a mammogram at my age without a family history of breast cancer!). To conclude: THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. No ovarian cyst. No breast lump. NOTHING. He will scare you into thinking you have something wrong and then send you to get an array of tests just so he gets more MONEY. I hate leaving a review like this, but I don't think anyone should have to go through such stress because of an incompetent doctor. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere.

Among my favorite of his qualities is his ability to be direct and frank with his patients. He demands honesty and trust, which are two of the cardinal tenets of psychotherapy. It won't work otherwise. I always have and will feel completely comfortable speaking with Dr. Fayer and I highly value his approach, his methods, and his advice. He is very attentive and frequently checks in with patients. I also feel strongly that Dr. Fayer is the ideal choice for struggling patients who need to determine what medication(s) are best for treatment and laying the foundations for establishing a healthy lifestyle, balanced mood, and high self esteem. Dr. Fayer will help you tremendously, but you have to do the work yourself, which he'll masterfully guide you through. He genuinely cares very much about his patients' welfare, feelings, success, and the integrity of his craft. He's very warm and approachable, unlike many shrinks out there, and i always feel encouraged rather than intimidated to share something with him thats difficult. The office is in an elite and beautiful neighborhood on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, and provides a calm, modern, fastidiously clean, welcoming waiting area. I did find a PAYING job and Dr. Mekles is very supportive and shows real interest. With Dr. Mekles - I'm able to taper my benzodiazepine slowly - with lots of support from the doctor. He's very patient and is very understanding and knowledgeable about withdrawal symptoms. He didn't push me - but prodded me to do this vital step The secretary is very helpful. I booked an appointment specifically for an ADHD assessment, clearly stated as such. That was the entire purpose of the visit. Yet, during the call, Dr. Pell casually informed me that they are not conducting ADHD assessments at this time and may resume, possibly in January or February of next year. This immediately raised a red flag: if you are not offering the service, why accept an appointment for it? Why bill insurance for something you never intended to provide? The entire interaction lasted 18 minutes, and not a single part of it resembled an evaluation. Instead, we spent the bulk of the time discussing my career. He asked about my former psychiatrist's nationality; he seemed very interested in why he didn't take insurance "as a Black doctor" (which I perceive as a common conflation between race and poverty). He then asked only two quick, surface-level questions about why I was seeking an ADHD assessment. Then in the same breath that he told me they are not doing assessments, he also told me that I probably do not have ADHD. He said this despite the fact that I was coming to him for a second opinion after already completing a comprehensive, legitimate ADHD evaluation with a diagnosis from an actual specialist. (I did not share I was coming in for a second opinion, as I didn't want it to be biased). He provided no testing, no structured questions, no clinical methodology, nothing that even remotely resembled evidence-based practice. The whole thing felt dismissive, and frankly, like a complete waste of my time. I left the appointment feeling misled and deeply uncomfortable, as insurance had been billed for a service that was never delivered. If you are seeking serious mental health care, diagnostic clarity, or responsible clinical practice, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This experience felt unhelpful and entirely out of alignment with what any patient should expect from a licensed provider.
