When the doctor came to get my husband from the waiting room, he called his name and immediately turned and walked away without greeting us. There was no introduction or effort to create rapport. During the visit, he avoided eye contact when we asked questions and did not offer explanations when we raised reasonable concerns. His blood pressure was taken on his forearm, which we found unusual. When we mentioned that his reading had been significantly higher at another appointment earlier that same morning, the response was simply, "Oh," with no clarification or discussion. At checkout, the front desk interaction was similarly curt and unwelcoming. This was my husband's first experience establishing care with a primary care physician as an adult, and unfortunately it did not feel collaborative or patient-centered. We value clear communication and mutual respect in healthcare, and based on this experience, we have decided to seek care elsewhere.
