Wow what a major disappointment. The best thing about this place is the waitress. I was expecting (after all these years) a reasonable selection of pub food for a reasonable price. I ordered the chicken breast based on the waitress recommended. It comes with rice and salad so I switched out the rice for fries. The size of the breast was teeny to say the least maybe 2-3 oz at best. It was soaked in a very less than average sauce. It tasted like canned meat that was given a shape. The fries were very average. The salad was a joke that came with a dressing made with curry. I confess it was 9:30 I was hungry and I ate it all reluctantly, praying that I won't be sick in the morning. The truth is that I happened upon this place by pure accident. I had an hour to kill downtown and there was parking right in front so I tempted fate. Good things; 1. Waitresses-staff 2. Tv screens 3. The beer That's it friends--better to stay away from this one.

Even though it was 4:30 in the afternoon & the main restaurant was almost completely as well as the patio being about 1/2 empty the server said there was no place to sit. He said they had big parties coming in. The chicken fingers were decent but not house made. What was really good were their fries. They WERE house made & were very good. I wouldn't break my neck going back again. One disappointment....house salad dressing was virtually tasteless.

I am in Montreal for a couple days for meetings (the company I work for is based here) ... I flew in this afternoon. I didn't feel like going too far for supper and came across Pub Victoria on Rue Notre Dame Ouest. I like pubs and it looked interesting from the outside. It wasn't too busy when I got there about 5:30pm but a few people wandered in as I was there. I started with cheese sticks ... nothing outstanding about them. They arrived very quickly after I ordered them (too quickly) so I'm assuming they'd been made ahead of time. There wasn't a lot of choice on the menu so I ordered a burger and fries. Not great. The fries were overdone and it seemed like the burger was warmed up rather than cooked freshed for me. My server was efficient but a tad cold. I won't be back.

I really like Pub Victoria for their beer selection, and proximity to my office in the Old Port of Montreal. There is a limited liquor selection, so only go here if you are in the mood for a beer. Food wise, their prices are on the high end for what you get. But due to the locality of the bar in relation to the old port of Montreal, of course the prices are going to be high. I especially like the 5-7 special where you save a whopping $0.40 per beer...cheap asses. But, hey, they have a great selection of beer not common in Montreal. They also have a large patio (aka terrace in Canada), where you can sit outside and enjoy your pub fare and spirits.

Perfectly fine for a 5a7 (happy hour), but nothing that special about it. Typical pub range of beer and liquor.

While I didn't have the chance to try any of the food, the service alone left a great impression! Tucked away with a beautiful terrasse in the back, it's the kind of place you'd almost miss--but absolutely shouldn't. The service was fantastic from start to finish--attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling overbearing. The food was equally impressive. Everything we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with portions that are just right. The beef and mushroom tartare was a standout--rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced--and the braised lamb cavatelli was simply outstanding. The lemon tiramisu for dessert was the best ive ever had. Overall, a fantastic experience. Can't wait to come back!

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Review for their Quartier Dix30 location, 2025…read more.. Horrible ending to our night, false accusations by their staff... My friends and I went to this pub as a portion of our celebrating one of their birthdays this evening. For context I and my friends are in our late 30s to early 40s, and we had beforehand gone to another establishment but the temperature was unbearable as they did not have air conditioning so we sought out an alternative and chose Mckibbin's. Funnily enough, Mckibbin's didn't have AC either but we ended up staying for a few drinks regardless, mostly to appreciate the live music which was quite good. The waitress was good as well, quick and friendly, we had a minor snafu with a couple of the drinks which were not to our liking but the bar graceously replaced them which is yet another solid point in their favor. Why, you might ask in that case, would I be rating this establishment one star then? Well it all comes down to how we ultimately exited the establishment. We all paid our tab at the table, and finished up the rest of our drinks, still enjoying the music playing. It was a great band by the way, I just have to say. We all ended up leaving after 10-15 minutes and all seemed well, except it was only once we're outside that I found out that apparently one of our group who had gone to the bathroom had been victim of a rather apauling scenario. He had been in the stall for 10 or so minutes (he was doing what he had to do .. sometimes nature calls), and was interrupted by a knock on his stall only to hear the bouncer tell him he had to pay and get out of the bar immediately. The bouncer aparrently had heard him "sniffing" his nose in the stall, and found that to be appropriate reason enough to accuse him of doing cocaine in the stall, and to force him out of the bar. Of course it did not cross his mind to think that perhaps it had something to do with the bar being at approximately 29 degrees, perhaps my friend simply had a stuffy nose, or perhaps he had allergies, no he heard a few sniffles and that was all he needed to throw out allegations. Needless to say, I'm completely and utterly disgusted having learned this. Ultimately we left and let things be, we weren't about to bust back in there and cause disruption for no reason we were already on our way out anyway, but to think that this man, employed by this establishment, could be so outlandishly shortsighted is a true injustice. Suffice to say, my friend has never done cocaine in his life, we quite literally made jokes about this man's accusations the whole ride home. Still, I will never go back to this place, because I shudder to think of myself in his situation and what I might do, how it would make me feel to be on the bad end of this kind of person's shortsighted and unfounded accusations. That said, I urge anyone and everyone to beware of the types of people this establishment has working under its payroll. Most of their staff (everyone else in-fact) were excellent, but unfortunately it only takes one completely rotten apple to ruin the bunch.

Horrible service. They didn't let 3 of my peers with REAL ID in the club. And when my friend…read moreconfronted them, the next time she came in they told her she was "the bitch with the attitude". Tremendously rude bouncers. Don't recommend.
