Well there are pros and cons to this place. And to each Item I have won. I only bid online because that place is quite a drive for me. I would say most of the Items I have won have been just fine, no issues. One broken Item and a couple with parts missing. I have also had a few other issues with them where they made mistakes. So some of the items I have won that I am happy with.. A 48" 4k TV. Works great, was missing the remote. I ordered a factory replacement remote for like $10 online. A $800 retail Treadmill. I got it for under $200, It was only missing the little magnet that turns on the treadmill, I have a magnet at the house that works just fine as a replacement. I have a couple hundred miles on the treadmil and no problems at all. A gun safe. Had no code, but apparently, the missing code was the factory default code so no problem there. A pressure washer, was brand new, never used but turned out is was missing the wand, the tube between the handle and the tip. I had to order a replacement online, not expensive, still came out ontop. Lots of other misc stuff as well with no issues. Bad stuff. I won a set of jack stands, took them home, opened the box and found that one of the stands was missing the center chunk of steel, so basically, I ended up with a single jack stand, my fault for not looking in the box before I left the place. I won a ceiling light fixture that turned out to be dead on arrival, and there was no way to test this out at their facility safely. I won a drill, drove all the way out to their property to find that the drill was nowhere to be found and they do not offer refunds. I won an Item they did not have and they did not want to refund me, only offer store credit or to give me the same item next time it comes in, that was a couple months ago and I still have not got a drill from them. Issues, I was billed for an Item won, only I did not bid on that item, they billed me for someone else's auction. I had to call them to straighten it out and they refunded my money back into my bank account. read more

I have had nothing but great experiences here. Yes, my mom and I have both had incidents where something didn't work, but that is why they have you check before you leave. Both times they were able to replace the item. They even hunted down a missing cord for a fake Christmas tree and got it to my mom a week later. Overall we have had fun experiences checking out the live auctions and have been very happy with the items we have won. read more

Very disappointed with the process at Bakersfield Auction. Bid on some items online, three said "May Have Won" at close of bidding. Supposedly two of them were purchased with higher bids at live auction (but no information on that was given to me.) The third item, I did receive an invoice and went to pick up. Item was brought out, a fountain, missing the pump that was pictured with it on the auction brochure. No mention was made of it at the warehouse. I would advise others to bid with caution at this auction house. read more

Very upfront that things they sell are new and used. Out of 5 auctions i have only had one thing that was damaged and the Auction house made a store credit which i used when winning another auction. Love this and the way it is run. 4 stars only because i wish you could see realized prices on the previous auctions read more

Went to live auction Saturday. Super fun great deals. Amanda was super nice and very happy with the bids we want. We will be coming back.

One of the best auctions our there for mostly household items. I've maxed out a few of my credit cards at this auction. 95% of the time the stuff I bid on and won was brand new. I always checked out the stuff at auction before I bring it. Only negative thing i can think about is the Auction being to far. I stay in Lodi, CA and it's about a 2 hour drive to Madera without any traffic :-( read more

Remember this is a auction house, so buyer beware. I think they have a connection with Costco returns. I've made the mistake of biding on line. Gotten bit a couple of times. You can review the items after Thursday on line and in person. So if you are going to bid, and bid a high dollar amount, take the time to view it in person. Be very very careful when buying from this shady auction. I have bought from them before, spent hundreds of dollars to arrive and basically pick up complete garbage. It's a joke. I would highly recommend only buying in person. And be careful if they have multiples of an item the will just ice you whichever one. Not necessarily the one you bid on. read more

Long story short, purchased a LEGO kit that was straight up used (assembled item inside, missing pieces, missing manual, along with a child's hand-written notes). Unfortunately, I didn't find out until my son opened it as a gift (embarrassing for me and a disappointment for him). They would not allow exchange/refund/credit and became obstinate while on the phone. Caveat Emptor is the apparently the key here (as another reviewer suggested), but with Internet bidding, the customer is unable to check an item before bidding. I'd be real careful about choosing to spend a significant amount of money here. I get that Public Auction R Us are not able to visually check every item that comes in and goes out, but it seems like they could at least ATTEMPT to do what is right vs what is profitable. Look at the other reviews of missing pieces, broken items, random items in wrong boxes, etc. and consider if it's worth saving a couple of bucks by gambling on the quality of the product you get. read more

Shady auction. You would think if the items are used that they would at least have the parts to function. Got a 4 items. None of which had the parts to function as working. Example got two coffee makers, one had the settings function broken off and missing, making it completely useless. The other was missing a the parts that lock in place to make a cup of coffee. One completely a useless junk and the other doesn't have the main parts, that cant be ordered unless you buy a new machine. Auction should sale things that can be used. Not to pieces of junk that are worthless. They have my money and I have zero products to use. Dont waste your money with broken, unusable items . read more

I am a bargain hunter and I have to admit that I like it so much that I kept going back for these guys to burn me over and over. It really is the type of place that looks like a bargain hunters paradise. But my oh my how looks can be deceiving. I purchased 5 items from these guys over about a 4 month period. Each has been broken, although I must admit one (a shop vac) is somewhat usable as it is only dented and cracked. If you try to get your money back after unknowingly bidding on your broken item you will hear this statement...my bosses tell me to remind people 'This is an Auction, that's the way it is.' As if the dictionary defines auction as a place where you go to buy broken items. If you walk in during the 'pick up time' which occurs two days after the auction - you will hear this repeated over and over while waiting in line to pick up your broken goods. Apparently new people come in weekly and don't realize that auction is code for broken crap. This place sells stuff from a number of major vendors and they buy the bottom of the barrel. If Costco, Wal Mart or Home Depot takes an item back in the name of good service and the decide that it is too broken, dirty or abused for them to try to sell it to any real customer - off it goes to Public Auctions R Us - so they can pawn pawn it off on you and give you attitude about it at the same time, the true double whammy. So consider yourself warned, this is an auction! Your stuff will be broken and likely worthless and if you are stupid like me you might even come back for more...it is about the search! If you come back enough, you might even find something repairable for your hard earned dollars. read more

Let me start by saying what is not noted on their website anywhere- you must bring someone to help you load heavy items. The guys there were very nice to me and helped me load up 2 BBQ's that I had purchased but did make a little bit of a fuss about it. but they were very nice and helped me. Thanks guys. Now, the second thing is that it says that you can test your products in the parking lot as they have outlets there to do so. THERE IS NO PARKING LOT! I assumed they would have a table/station to do the testing but this is a very, very small enclosed area that has a ton of pallets and stuff staged all around and it is pretty chaotic when you go to pick up. If there looks like there is a spot that will fit your vehicle inside the gate pull in and then get out. Don't park on the road or it will take you forever to get in there. They will rush you through checking off all of your items. I would suggest making them slow down and you should take your time in examining all of your items and checking them off yourself. You might be holding up other people from getting in there but once you leave it is a done deal. I had purchased a pet bed and there was a lot of stuff stacked on it. Once I got home I realized the cushion for it was not inside the bed. I have emailed twice and called, which no one has answered the phone and there is no voicemail to see it I can go back and pick it up. This place is an hour and half away from where I live but I would really like to have the cushion which was in the picture when I bid on it. I finally got a hold of someone a week later and they thought I was ridiculous for emailing them and ridiculous for wanting the cushion for the dog bed and they have too much crap there that they will probably never find it. Expect for a lot of the boxes to be either opened or damaged. Open every single box. I purchased and air fryer that "looked" like it had not been opened and was new and same with a food saver. When I got them home, you cannot even open the drawer for the air fryer. Something Is jammed in there so it is useless. Also, the foodsaver was used, I mean really used and dirty with food stuff. But I guess it doesn't matter because it doesn't work anyway. Power turns on. That's it. Some of the other things I purchased like the tower fans were fine. Pictures may not accurately reflect the condition of the boxes they give you. just a note: buyer beware, research the prices on all of your items before making a bid, make sure to include tax and the 10% auction fee on every item or you might over bid, bring someone to help you load any heavy items and take your time checking your items when you are picking them up. You may think that You have to buy it now but don't feel too stressed to purchase. I have seen them have the same type of items time after time. read more

No seating, long lines to pay/checkout/and test products, and terrible customer service when you try to return items. Use to be a good place to find great deals but it seems that they no longer check to see if their auction items are working, damaged, or have missing parts. Even if you do your homework, you might end up paying good money just to haul away junk. They do allow you to look at items on Friday but you can't look inside boxed items to see if the item is damaged or have missing parts. Too many disclaimers on all auction items and they have a large inventory so BUYERS BEWARE. read more

I've been buying from this auction for a few years now. I've had a few issues but for the most part they are very willing to make the customer happy. The items are hit & miss. Sometimes the descriptions are accurate, meaning they disclose what's wrong with the item. But if they say it's working or turns on, they mean it Really is working. The stuff they sell is either brand new, used, or broken. If you end up with a broken item, they will give you your money back. If there's an issue with the item; new but missing a piece or different item in the box than what you bid on; they'll discount the item for you, or refund you. It really is a gamble on what condition your item is in when you buy from here, but the owner & the workers Will fix any issues you have and make things right. There's an outlet on the side of the building for you to test products. So make sure you test everything before you leave! And make sure you check everything before you leave! The worse customer service I have ever seen. I won multiple items at the end of the online auction and then when I think I'm getting an email it doesn't happen. The following week the items I thought I won are back in the auction. They say no reserve, but I guess I didn't meet the price they were looking for. Another thing is if you win something online make sure you pick it up asap otherwise they will keep the item and the money you paid for it and resale the item the next week. Yes, you do get burned by items. I've been burned 25% of the time. I bought a power light and when I came home and checked it was not even in the box! (I was hangry and I didn't even want to look at a $5 item that they wouldn't even return/reimburse me). I've bought a sink that's been clearly used, again $5. I've had broken glass fixtures and things of that nature, but I've also gotten some really good steals, like $230 outdoor lamps for $7.50 or a $300 rug for $25. This place is great if you're a new homeowner and willing to take a risk, just don't bid too high if you're worried about spending too much on items that might be potentially damaged. There is always a 10% fee and taxes on top of that. The staff is nice but they aren't the best at handling merchandise. I've came in on dead days to see guys messing around on forklifts and having no precautions for the items, recklessly tossing pallets around etc. That might also play a part of the issue. read more

Horrible "merchandise"; unethical practices, I purchased 14 items; everything was missing parts or seriously damaged. The worst thing was paying for four DVR's and everyone of them had the had the hard drives missing! when the guy who brought my merchandise to me handed me one of those four DVR's I said, "Hey, this one is rattling; I don't think its going to work." In a very uncaring manner he just said, "You have to take it because you already paid for it and when you buy it online, you have agreed that you'll take everything "as is." My son-in-law also bought a Lorex security system; cameras + DVR, right? Nope - NO HARD DRIVE AGAIN. Hmm . . . holy cow is there a pattern here? DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY ELECTRICAL ITEMS. It really is a crap shoot if they will even power on and then later function as they are meant to. Several reviewers have said, that this business is "Very up front" about the items they sell. I guess so if what they're up front about is that you are paying them for their trash. Oh and don't forget; you also pay a 15% fee on the total of your bids. BUYER BEWARE! I've purchased items there twice, and both times the items were damaged beyond use. The first was an area rug, which I asked if it could be unrolled to look at it during viewing days, and they said no. I bid and got it for $20, brand new rug, slightly dusty from being in the warehouse. Got it home and unrolled it, covered in black mold and couldn't even be cleaned. I called about it and was told that we just take our chances when bidding but it "shouldn't have been damaged" and of course they apologized, blah blah blah. Learned that lesson. Bid again on a small refrigerator which I didn't win, and also a Brita water pitcher which I did win. Picked it up, had me sign for it while the guy was fetching it, left and checked it out when I got in the car. Huge crack up the side, not usable. I called them immediately, chastised them for selling nothing but damaged goods. He said "the guys are supposed to check those before the auction" so apparently I'm stuck with it because I signed for it (read the small print on the receipt!). Fortunately, because he stated that and it's their error, the bank is reversing the charges. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and I'm DONE! I think most of what they sell is damaged goods. So glad I didn't win the bid on that small refrigerator, I'm sure the cord would have been severed or something. Never again, and I advise all interested parties to completely examine everything they purchase. I was there once on a rainy day to check out a couple of items and there were 2 sectionals in the parking lot getting soaked and also a leak in the ceiling that was dripping on a sofa inside. read more

So lots of people have had some bad experiences. Mine was ok. First off the way their bidding works is legit but let me explain. Internet bidding opens Thursday night before auction. It closes at 9:30am day of auction. Starting bid at auction is current Internet bid. Where people get confused is just because starting bid at auction is for example $30.00 that doesn't mean that was the highest Internet bid. I had a max bid of a LG TV at $55.00 online, however closest Internet bid to me was $35.00 so that was current price. At start of auction they start bid at current price-$35.00. If no one at auction goes above my highest bid of $55.00 then Internet bid wins. If they had bid $60.00 at auction then they win. Quality is not great but item did work well. Older models and minor scratches but what do you want for $50 bucks for a 32 inch TV that's guaranteed? If your picky go buy something new, if not you might like them. Try it for yourself. read more
