The two girls that were in the office when I booked my storage were awesome they were very attentive answered all my questions and made sure that I had all the information I needed to get myself in. Now that I have been there for a few weeks I have struggled with maintenance issues beeping noise in building that has not gone off at all. Hot water in women's restroom turns on but will not turn off had to turn off the emergency shut-off valve to get it to stop running. Reported these issues to the office and still nothing has been done. Have had problems with my passcode working to enter and exit the property as well as the building. Which has made it very difficult for me to get my tools out in the morning or put them away at night when I need to work. Was literally only over by maybe 20 minutes past 9:00 trying to get my stuff in storage and was called and notified through email and text message that I was on the property past 9:00 which I find a little extensive considering the fact that I actually was on the property at about 7:38 but because I've had to literally no time to organize or get my things in and I was trying to fit larger tools in cuz I have more tools to go pick up at a job site it seems to be an issue. While they always seem to get back quite quickly to me which I greatly appreciate I do find it a little frustrating that I never get a live person when I call even during business hours. A lot of my stuff is done over the phone because I don't want to waste my time or gas driving all the way out there if it's not going to even let me use my access code to get in the gate. A gentleman was stuck inside of the gate when I was trying to get in one night he said he said the same issues as well had to call the fire department to access the gate cuz no one was able to get a hold of anybody even through the website. Turns out it's just the sensor on the gate gets wet in the laser beam that goes across to signal when it is supposed to open had water droplets on it. A small cover over the top of that would probably fix the issue. Either plastic or even metal welded on quite a simple fix seems they are not able to get anyone out there to do the work required to maintain the property. Probably going to look for another storage with 24-hour access it would just be a little bit more sensible for me. read more

Be aware that your initial rental rate is temporary. After less than 6 months, our monthly rental fee was abruptly increased by 12%! Sure, everyone is pleasant in the office, but just be sure that you realize that this is NOT like renting an apartment or other form of lease. Ms.Gladys Was a awesome help, she treated as I was one of her own babies. She made me feel welcomed and loved during my hard time. She was very patient with me, answered all of my questions and made sure I got the best deal. When I came back to the property to load my personal items in my unit and couldn't remember where my storage unit was. Parked my car there, and got broke in. I understand public storage they are not liable for damages, and they clearly states that in the paperwork I signed. But at least put cameras around the facility, so people feel safe park their cars there. what's the difference parking cars on the street versus parking in your facility if you don't have camera installed to protect people properties. BEWARE! BATE and Switch! You arrive with a low rate and in 6 months without notice the rate goes WAY up. When you call they act real nonchalant and say (very scripted) "Maam we will be happy to have you vacate - so sorry you are unhappy." Also, day of move in be prepared for a long process, they have to try and sell you mattress covers, boxes, tape, etc. If you say, no thank you - they will just keep talking until the script is over. So if you must chose this option - beware. The other reviews of this business are not real. The people working here? Just speak to them like you speak to anyone with a 4th grade education. read more

Rent creeps up every 5-6 months or so . Started at $48 for a 10x10 and now up to $81. Chose this location because of the good pricing, but now will find something else. Staff is nice enough, but try to upsale everything. read more

I like the staff and the facility but one thing that I can not tolerate is when they tell something is mandatory when it is not. They tell you that insurance is mandatory through their own insurance even if you have your own. I read the contract and it is not. Additionally, on the back of the small ad that they have at the counter it tells them the verbage that they have to tell the customer and it does not say that it is mandated. I called the company that provides the insurance and they told me the same thing but they can not cancel the insurance. Instead, I have to go to the location and have them delete the insurance and provide me with a credit read more

I currently rent 2 units at the 13675 N US Highway 183 Austin, TX 78750 location. Al the manager had played a huge part in why I selected this location. He was extremely helpful, sweet, went above & beyond for us. Even stayed past closing time to help us with the paperwork for a 2nd unit we needed on our move day. I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant person to greet us at Public Storage. The property seemed very clean & well taken care of inside & out. Units were immaculate, common areas were very clean and the store was very organized. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with this storage facility and Al Green. He was kind, helpful and knowledgeable on the phone, the facility was clean and all of my paperwork was ready when I arrived so the process was smooth and quick. I needed to put more things in storage today and could not find my key. I called and Al described the key and said that he would send me a photo so I knew what I was looking for as the only other alternatives would either take several days or require a locksmith. With his description, I was able to locate my storage key among the many others I have. I have been using this Public Storage facility for several years and have always had a good experience. I recently had trouble with the gate code and called for assistance. The person who answered the phone was very helpful and nice. When I went to my storage unit the next day, Al was extremely helpful and very friendly. He even carried out a piece of gardening equipment out to my car and loaded it in my car. The grounds are very well maintained and secure. I would highly recommend this PS location. No wonder I didn't do that well in geometry... "I'm sure I can get it all in there" I thought, as I saw my existing 5' x 10' space begin to fill up from top to bottom prematurely before my very eyes. Fat chance, not even close. And it's Valentine's Day afternoon! I'm headed for big trouble... I called the front desk from my storage unit. "I need a second unit, 5' by 5' this time" - me thinks... and I'm fretting about the time it might take to go back to the office, do the paperwork, and then fill it up the second unit hoping it would do the trick. What if it didn't! Well, Al, Mike and Terri took care of me like I would have never imagined. Al and Terri began preparing the paperwork using my current file, while Mike came out to the building with the key for the 5' x 5'. I didn't have to leave the storage unit building and I was able to finish storing my stuff, making sure the extra 5' x 5' would be sufficient, before I signed on the dotted line. And when I stopped at the office on the way out, everything was prepared and bam, bam, bam with the pen and I was out of there. My head was spinning on how masterful everything played out. You don't generally expect this type of friendly, team-work service from any establishment let alone a storage unit facility. But this team is as good as it gets. read more

Robin and Dawn and company at this Public Storage site on 183 North and Anderson Mill (by the car wash) make moving and storing EASY! And the property is clean, secure, and climate controlled. They were friendly, helpful and worked to identify my needs based on the amount of stuff I had. They helped process paperwork quickly, showed me a unit, and closed the deal fairly quickly. The prices are reasonably affordable, too, given the market in self storage. A few months into the contract I had to make an adjustment and move into a larger unit after my mother passed away. They were sympathetic of my situation and very helpful, especially since I had to upgrade and move stuff on short notice from my mother's retirement community. The main reason I don't give them 5 stars isn't fully their fault: it's Public Storage national computer accounting systems which caused a couple of hiccups as they were transferring my account and delayed the process a bit. Supposedly Public Storage is upgrading their systems to fix such issues. Once that occurs, they get five stars. But overall, despite that, I HIGHLY recommend this place for its staff as well as overall look, feel, cleanliness, and experience. read more

Nightmare scenario. Public Storage is a scam and they waive themself of all liability to any damages to your personal property. They sell you shady insurance that they claim will cover any damages, when really the insurance they connect you with is fly-by-night operation. I suffered over $6500 worth of damages to pests and bugs and rodents, and the insurance they selected for me, the insurance Al assured me would cover my property, did int fact NOT cover the property and when I was told I was covered for up to $3000, it was false and I was only covered for $250. These people like Al are total scam artists who demand you waive all of their liability when you rent with public storage. read more

The staff was courteous, gave me a tour, explained how to work the elevator with access code, showed me gates for entry and exit. The only thing I didn't like was they told me I had to take their insurance in order to rent the space. I faxed my declaration page the next day and they cancelled their coverage. read more

I recently moved from California to Austin, and was under a lot of stress to get a ground level unit that could be accessed by an 18 wheel moving truck.
