I have been at this facility for about 2 years. I rented a space on a memorial day special. The rate was around $130.00 give or take a few dollars.. In 2 years it has been increased, increased, increased so that at the end of this year it has gone up to $202.00 Forget about the specials. Public Storage will not hold to the advertised specials. I was in the facility less than a year before I received my first increase. The facility is clean and somewhat new. The staff was decent to me evenly let me move in some of my stuff at closing time. I was even able to park the Uhaul over night because we didn't finish moving in the first time around. I, however, have heard them with other customers. Some customers have forgotten that "you catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar." But when you work with the public you have to remain level headed. I am upset about the mountains of increases. Specials means nothing to this company. They will increase until you are not saving at all. I will be moving my things out to a cheaper storage facility. Im looking at Extra Space. Rates are reasonable. Decent reviews. read more

Property seems secure, staff is helpful and engaging, very firm on when they will be closing, seemed clean for a storage facility in the heart of the Bronx. Christine helped me find a unit right for my needs and was not a pushy saleswoman trying to up sell me on anything. I want to leave a 4 star as I'm not exactly sure how secure the facility is just yet as people constantly were going in and out without anything to load and not having to enter in their personal ID's for security. The staff is professional and courteous, especialy Crystal S who catered to my needs by asking numerous questions and provided me with information to ensure my storage items will be well kept. The people who work in this place are lovely, but the management is not. It's all about bait and switch. I moved in last fall -- reasonable rate; friendly service. Six months pass, and they raise my rate -- by 12% -- without notice. I called to try to discuss this with someone; a polite low-level person said I'd need to speak with management. Management was -- guess what??? -- not available, but I was assured they'd get back to me. They didn't. Tried again. A polite low-level person said I'd need to speak with management. I have never rented a storage facility & this new location made it so quick & easy to do. Shaun & Jasmine made it especially helpful to understand the lease & how to manage my unit. The tour was very descriptive & led step by step . The price of the unit was very affordable & the facility itself was huge, well organized, & clean. The staff is very informative & even gives you a call to make sure your move-in went as planned. New, clean, nice and cheaper that the other storage in the neighborhood. I was out "shopping" for a clean and cost-effective storage in the Bronx. We first came to Public Storage to check the place out. I was amazed how clean the place is (it's a new facility, less than a year old) and the staff were nice and helpful. We didn't sign-up right away as we wanted to check out other locations (two others in the vicinity). PS is top-notch THE BEST one out there. The two others are sub-par and smelled of moth balls. So we came back and was assisted by Eunice who did an excellent job by showing us the ropes (being newbies in storage rental). She showed us a great unit, perfect for my treasures (I like my stuff!) and its a secured location, climate-controlled. Overall, I am content and well-pleased by this facility and was happy with Eunice's professionalism. I can say I was a storage virgin! I made my reservation online at about 10am, received a phone call right away to confirm that I had placed to confirmation, and the very same day by 1pm I was moving in my belongings. At first I was a little skeptical but every question I had was answered. I was assisted by an employee by the name of Eunice. She was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and very patient in showing my husband and I the different sizes in storage rooms. She was a step-by-step guide, smiling at all times and gave me the ease of feeling comfortable having a successful conclusion which was to engage in a business transaction. The overall look of the facility is VERY clean, smells good, shiny floors, clean storage room doors, nice satellite music, security cameras in every angle and corner including the elevators and stairs. Then again its a new building but I was very content in the up cleaning of the facility. If I any doubts at first after visiting I'm sure that my belongings would be taken care of and safe. read more

This place is great/Awesome in every sense of the word. I was greeted by very professional and friendly staff. (Jessica) A staff who listens to your needs and maybe wants, expecting to be upsold to a more costlier unit, but guess what?! I was pleasantly surprised, advising to me to go with a smaller unit. The facility is well lit and from what I was told, just renovated, and it shows. The place is immaculate, well kept, actually better than my residence. Location of this facility is also a big plus, guess the people who decided to pay $30mil for this place knew what they were doing. Located in the Bronx, and just a 5 minute drive to Manhattan. We moved in from Cubesmart down the block and were much happier here. Very well lit and clean facility, without the hassle of moving around the African salesmen (though they were always nice). The best price I could find around, even after the occasional price increase, we paid less than what we paid at CubeSmart (which included a military discount). My only issue now is that we are in the process of moving out, and have been told contradictory information. We just found out that we got the apartment we had applied for (Aug. 31st) So I immediately scheduled a move out day through my online account. My husband called them up and they told us if we move out by the 7th, our account would be pro-rated, because silly us paid our storage rent days before. Turns out we could move out by the 5th of Sept., hubby calls them back to see if they give moving trucks, and they tell him no, and they also do not pro rate monthly rent..... Hmm, so who do we believe? If I'm not occupying the space for more than a week, why should they get to keep my whole months rent? So I will wait and update this review, until we move out and we see if they will pro-rate our rent paid. Because $144 is an awful lot to dish out for a week, and a cruel punishment for paying rent on time.... read more

There has been a few set backs but they always try to help out. Lost the keys for my storage unit and wasn't sure what the best protocol was. I imagined it was going to be a headache to get the locks replaced and also had no idea how much something like that would cost. After one phone call to their corporate office, I was put in touch with the District Manager in charge of my location. We handled everything over the phone and it only cost $20 to get a new lock installed!! Within 5 days my locks were changed and new keys were waiting for me to pick up when I visited my unit. First of all the facility is brand new and very clean. It is conveniently located just off of the Major Degan (87) as well as two blocks from the Harlem River Drive. The # 5 train as well is just two blocks away. A major factor about this place is that the rates are not only competitive but much cheaper than most less comparable spaces. I was able to combine two prior storage spaces that took up only two thirds of the space that I now have and I'm still saving over $100.00 a month. The loading docks right now are not congested and there are ample push carts or hand trucks to handle the transfer of your cargo. The management is very attentive, informative and everyone appears to love working there. My customer service representative Ms. Carolin Polanco, spent as much time as necessary with me to adequately determine my specific space requirements and I left feeling that my personal items were in good hands. I hope with the passage of time, all of the above remains the same with only slight increases. read more

Location is attractive and the rates are reasonable, but I've had quite a few issues with district management from a communication and logistics standpoint. I was told, without notice that the facility would not be acceptable deliveries on my behalf going forward. Without notice, the facility, per the direction of district management and above rejected my shipments without notification. The door on the first floor (loading dock) has not been fixed in months. I've been told numerous times that it would be. Not the case. It's a security concern, considering there have been multiple interactions with non-Public Storage customers asking for money in exchange for work. As of late, there are rarely employees stationed in the loading dock rental center. The facility is clearly short staffed or else there would be an employee in the office during hours of operation. This is also the only facility I've ever rented at where there isn't an option to drop used cardboard boxes. Upper management needs to be clear in terms of leading its customer service team. A clear disconnect between management and its hard working site team. With all of this being said, I would have ended my agreement if it wasn't for Shift Manager, Jasmine Rodriguez. Jasmine understands how to service the customer and lead my example. She is a hard worker and a strong communicator with a great work ethic. She is an invaluable asset to this facility. Please ask for Jasmine if you have a customer service inquiry or concern. You won't be disappointed. read more

This location is very accessible just over the bridge from 145th St. The building planners used common sense when they thought about this facility to include the loading docks, the storage units and their spacing, the products and supplies they sell on site, the cleanliness, the moving tools made available (hand trucks, carts), the online account management, and the customer service was unexpectedly on some 5-star business. The women here know their product and services, they weren't pushy, they were informative, helpful and not for nothing, they were also a pretty "pretty" staff. It all matters especially when moving. Big shout out to the service rep Starr and the night managers who helped during my move in. I felt safe when I walked away from my belongings. Excellent service and facility. read more

I cannot give a 5 star yet because I just opened my account however thus far I am very happy. The staff is very helpful and polite and the staff person, Eunice, who helped me was particularly helpful. The facility is nice, new, and much cheaper than many of the other Public Storage. It's also really close to me. I had items in another public storage pretty far from me in Brooklyn and the space had become so expensive over time as the price just kept going up. I was able to cut the price by more than half by moving my items here. I hope they don't raise the prices any time soon and not by much for the people who rented first. One thing to keep in mind is due to the buildings construction the 7.5' by 10' units are actually 10' by 10' with support beam through them. This actually worked out great for me first because they are renting the unit as a 7.5' by 10' which is fair but also because my old 10' by 10' unit was more than I needed but the 5' by 10' was too small. If you need storage get in while it's new and get those great rates. read more

Me and my fiancee were looking into a storage facility within the area that was decent, affordable and convenient. We found this one which was only 15 min away by bus, brand new and was running a grand opening special. Sounded too good to be true, but it was! We had reserved online in order to lock in the special online price, then went in person to view the unit we had chosen. I was greeted by TAMEKA who proceeded to show me the unit I had chosen. Based on the amount of things we were to be storing, she concluded the unit we had chosen was actually too large, and showed us a unit that was smaller and for a much cheaper price. She was really nice and really helpful. While other storage facilities wouldve made me keep the one I had chosen, or insist I get something larger for more money, TAMEKA helped us find the right size we needed, for an afforfable price.
