Although they were so far away from me, I was worry-free. A3 is so clean and safe, and Melanie so responsive. My only regret: I knew that it would be unlikely I'd find such great storage and management again. Friends kept telling me horror stories about chain storage facilities which increase prices unexpectedly and repeatedly. And the ones I toured had poor security and/or were dirty. (Thank goodness I finally found another locally managed facility, though not quite up to A3's standard: Melanie spoiled me!) Should you need clean, climate-controlled storage with easy access, decent lighting, and excellent management close to downtown Dallas, this is your place.

You have access to your storage from 5am - 9pm daily. Which is not too bad and quite understandable when you consider the area. Personally I travel a lot and I like the ability to access a storage at any hour however when you consider the customer service, security of the facility its really a no brainer if you live close to the area. I do like the ability to manage your unit online, which includes payments and setting up auto pay. Be aware, you should time your move out wisely. Rent is due monthly on the 1st and if you move out after the 1st the remainder of your rent is forfeited as they do not pro rate for move outs.

Everywhere close to me did not have any availability for what I needed, when I needed it. Luckily, this place did have a truck available for the time frame I was looking for. This place is located just off of Hwy 67, so to everyone nervous about having to go into oak cliff to get a truck... don't be. It's not that bad. I reserved the 10 ft truck, but when I got there, the 12 ft truck was available, so the girl behind the counter upgraded me to the 12ft for no extra charge. After my move, I brought the truck back to turn in my keys. My only complaint of the place would be that it took about 12 minutes to get everything finalized. I was the only person in the office, but the girl behind the counter was trying to simultaneously talk to her friend on the phone while closing out my rental. Not once did she put the phone down and tell her friend to hold on. She was quiet and not rude about it, but I did not appreciate the lack of urgency. However, I was still happy that I got a larger truck for no extra cost, so I guess it balanced it out.

I'm in the process of relocating for work and decided to use the UHaul pods. I spoke with a woman named Natalie who walked me through the process. Part of that included me putting a card on file, my items would leave Tuesday and my estimated arrival was Aug10. I get a call today, only to be put on hold for 15-20 minutes. It's them wanting me to drive an hour so they can run my card "for security reasons." The same card that's already on file. At this point, I'm already heading out of town for my move and a funeral. I call them back to escalate the call b/c wth? They literally had no solution, no accountability for their misinformation, nothing. So! I have to miss my flight and add additional time to my rental car, go to UHaul and when I get there the only thing they want is to authorize my card for $100. THE SAME CARD THAT'S ALREADY ON FILE! I asked was a signature required? Photo ID? Nope, nothing. It's for security, right? Okay! I asked how the final payment needs to be taken care of, they say with the card on file. You have to be kidding me!! I ask to speak with a manager and more BS. I then say, you know what, just let me know when my stuff will arrive. Now! No one knows anything. Now they have to contact traffic control or whatever the hell. They have to do anything and everything FIRST, before giving me the information I need. Information they were already CLEARLY unsure about. Information they'd ALREADY misinformed me about. This has absolutely been the WORST moving experience. Save yourself the headache and use the actual PODS company. It's worth the extra money, trust me. UHaul is completely unprofessional, unreliable, and quite frankly incapable. Not only did they cost me money on changing my flight, and on additional time on my rental, now I will be in my new home without the things that I need, AND no idea when the hell they will arrive.
